$50 OBC from the Visa when booking online?

Is there something special that needs to be done when booking online to get the $50 OBC from the Disney Visa? Or will Chase bank automatically figure it out and tell disney?

I saw something on the mousesavers website the other day that mentioned a booking code to use, but it was the first time I'd seen that mentioned. I always just assumed we'd get it automatically, though we didn't get it on our first cruise (where we used AAA and received an OBC through them) or on our second either (where we had a rebooking OBC.)

The other website says:
To get the Disney Rewards Visa card stateroom credit when booking a cruise,
be sure to use a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel,
charge the cruise to your Disney Rewards Visa card,
and mention booking code DCC.

I tried doing a reservation online with that booking code, and while I didn't get an error like you get when you use an invalid booking code, I also didn't see anything that mentioned it either. Of course I didn't follow it through to the payment page either.

There is a code you have to put in to get the Disney Visa credit. No, it's not automatic.
The last time I got a card on the code it was DCC.

That's what I figured, but I have yet to find the place to use a code on this new website.

It's basically on the first page of the booking stuff. Really weird place IMHO. It's the page before you pick a stateroom category or anything.

Of course, they might do it because certain categories, etc. could limit the number of cabins booked with a given code. This wouldn't apply to things like the Disney Visa code, but does to things like the kids free code.

Don't use the booking menu you see on the home page. Instead click on the brown "Find a Cruise" button on the top right of many screens. You should see a screen where you make your selections with the destinations on the left, months in the next column, then ports and ships. On the bottom left you put in how many adults and children. Next to that is a place for a booking code. They've been 3-character codes recently (DCC, KFO, etc.) That's where you'd enter the booking code.

OK thank you all so much!! I saw the box and put the code in but it never shows up anywhere so I just assumed that was the wrong box.

If you are booking a 2011 cruise there is not a code for that year for the $50 Disney VISA yet. You will need to call when it is released to have it added.

So does that mean if you use the Kids Sail Free code (KFO) you can't also get the OBC for paying for it with the Disney Visa?

In general, you can only get one discount from Disney. For instance, you can't get both an onboard rebooking discount AND a Disney Visa credit. You can't get a FL resident or military discount and a Disney Visa credit. There are rare exceptions, such as being able to add the online booking credit ($25) to some other discounts like the Disney Visa discount.

Hi! I was told by DCL that you CANNOT combine de online booking credit with the Visa credit. And then again I was told the same thing on the ship...

You can definitely get the $50 Visa credit with the $25 online booking credit. Are you talking about the onBOARD credit (when you rebook onboard the ship) instead of the onLINE credit? I am getting OBC from travel agent plus $25 online booking credit plus $50 Disney Visa credit.

Nope onLINE and Visa... just got off the cruise July 4th and they only honored the $25.00 onLINE credit. I emailed them and got a letter back explaining it to me.

What did the letter say? Because my travel agent has confirmed that I will receive both, and others have reported receiving both as well. Did you have another type of credit that excluded you from receiving the online and Visa credits?

Nope... maybe things have changed but here's the reply I got

Dear xxxx:

Thank you for your e-mail.

I sincerely regret any confusion regarding the shipboard credit offered in conjunction with using the Disney Visa card as payment for your Disney Cruise Line vacation. Please allow me to explain that this offer in not combinable with other discount offers as noted on our website and on the flyers included with your monthly statement. While we are unable to provide any special considerations for these circumstances, I can assure you that your comments have been taken very seriously and shared with the appropriate management teams.

Again, I truly regret any disappointment and hope these concerns will not affect your regard for Disney. There is magic in the Disney name, and we hope to have the chance to sail with you again one day soon.

I was on the June 13th cruise and I got both the $25 online booking credit and the $50 OBC for paying with Disney Visa.

Just swap your booking and get decent obc with DU:thumbsup2

That is the only way to go IMO....most likely not only will you get the Visa OBC but DU OBC also because they are a separate entity. I paid my deposit with my Rewards card and plan on paying off bal of cruise with it. I have the cash to pay in full but heck....why pay the cash and pass up on the reward dollars also....

so when the time comes I will pay the card in full than hope in line and transfer the cash onto my rewards card....so than I get OBC with DU, OBC with Visa and maybe OBC with DCL...but for sure I will get all those wonderful Disney dollars to apply to my excursions:thumbsup2

I have $1,000 DRD already and am making it grow. We use this card for everything but carry no bal. We had a total of $1600 but used $600 of it in July for DL. pirate:

With the price of the Alaska cruise we will need it not to mention what the prices of the excursions will be:eek::lmao:

That is correct. Any discount that requires a code from DCL cannot be combined with another coded DCL offer.

Yes, you can get the online $25 OBC with the VISA $50. This are the only discount DCL offers that are combinable. John from DU has explained this as well.
