Yesterday was the Crazy Cup at work !! 5 Teams competed in "Crazy Games " I was in charge of Marshmallow golf :scared1: They had lots of others that in some way involved food ! Instead of actual creme oies they had shaving creme and we all ended up covered in it !! They had cake decorating . They had to sing for their lunch ! It was a lot of fun !! :banana::banana: Of course I had call sin the middle and had to deal with Drama but it was a GOOD Day!!

THat sounds hysterical:lmao:

I forgot to tell y'all that I am coaching DD's soccer team.

Jim is helping with Jimmy's team too. You can commiserate together. What ages?

Well last night was fairly busy, tonight is the big party. We'll see how that goes. :rolleyes1

popcorn:::rotfl:

===============

Back from the scout store...$130 poorer:eek: It's not bad though, becasue Jim picked up some leader stuff and activites that the Pack will reimburse us for. Then we headed to the King of Prussia Mall. We went to Friday's to have lunch then I was going to run into Sears to pick up a couple of things for Jimmy. Just as our lunch came out the power in the entire mall went out. It was amusing. I was just glad our lunch came out before! To thank us for being patient they gave us our appetizer and drinks for free:thumbsup2

So we left there and headed to Target...Which I now OFFICALLY HATE! They had nothing I needed and they rearranged the whole freaking store so it took us twice as long as it should have:headache:

Now we are just hangin out for the rest of the day. Jim is trying to do the last lawn mow of the year before the rains come.

What's everyone else up too?

I'm coaching girls ages 8-10. It's going well for the most part. We won today due to forfeit. :rolleyes: I have a good group except for two girls; one is sassy and the other constantly whines and complains.

One of the girls on Jimmy's team told the coach that she does not run and does not like to sweat:rotfl:

:banana: HOKIES OVER HURRICANES!!

Well, despite me not being there, the Hokies still won! Still wanted to go despite the rain...but tickets were over $250 each.....one year, I'm getting season tickets....gotta contribute at least 2K to even be at the bottom of the points list to be given an opportunity to buy them......

Did you wear your good luck earrings?

Wow I haven't been to KoP mall in YEARS! It's a great mall though. How exciting about the power going out (yeah, it doesn't take much for me :rolleyes:), as long as I had my food I'd have been fine too! I think they are rearranging all the Targets! Ours was completely reorganized - you're right it's a pain in the neck!

I'm paying $150/week for before and after school care, which around here isn't bad. THat includes breakfast in the morning (if he wants it), snack iafter school, and if he is there late for some strange reason dinner..but he's never there for that! It also includes days school is closed (like Monday for Rosh Hashana [sp?]) and they will give him breakfast, lunch, snacks. They are also taking a trip to the library and taking them out for SUndaes at McD's!

At least they do a lot for them!!

BA and I watched Night at the museum and she seems to be feeling much better. My nose is stuffy now tho.....:headache: hard to be a mom, even with all the spanking benefits and all....;)

:rotfl::rotfl:

:sad1: Time for a pity party, I woke up this morning feeling even worse, the cold has now moved down into my chest so I have a lovely hacking cough to accompany the sneezes and stuffy nose. This is the worst possible weekend to get sick due to how busy work is plus I have my Bio and Chem tests to study for and an essay to write. :headache:

So sorry :sick: I hope you feel better soon. Good luck with those tests! BTW, I'm really enjoying your TR:thumbsup2

That's sounds like a blast !

I think it's all about exercise. I tried to do the biggest loser 6 hours yesterday, but ran out of stuff to do. What do they do?

I think you're right - I was really good about getting back into exercise before we went to WDW in August, not so much since we came back - but I keep thinking about it ;)

I have a good group except for two girls; one is sassy and the other constantly whines and complains.

Good luck with that!

I'm so tired this morning - I woke up at 3am and couldn't really get back to sleep. The wedding yesterday was really nice - a bit different as the wedding and reception were at the same facility. I loved the music the bride chose for the wedding - it was perfect for them and not at all traditional (I'm surprised I liked it because I'm pretty traditional)! She had the bridal party walk down the aisle to I'm Going to the Chapel, which was really fun, she walked to Bittersweet Symphony (just the music, not the lyrics, which really worked) and they recessional was All You Need is Love by the Beatles (which was in the wedding scene from Love Actually, which is one of my favorites movies)! We left after the cocktail party (where I'd had enough hors deourves anyway ;), because we were bringing our grandson home with us for the night. He was in the wedding with his mom and dad but the dinner was only for adults. I'll post a photo of the wedding quilt later today - hope she likes it!

I'll share the recipe for dinner tonight too - it's a super easy but really yummy...
STEAK PIZZIOLA
4-5 steaks – sirloin, skirt or flank – whatever’s on sale works!
3 15 oz cans of Tomatoes – I use seasoned tomatoes
1 Onion, chopped
4 T. Olive Oil
Rinse the steaks, trim away any fat, slice them into 1/2 inch strips, place in the bottom of the pan.
Chop the onion into 1/4" cubes and sprinkle on top of meat. Pour the tomatoes on top of the meat and onions and gently mix. Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil on top of the mixture. Cover the pan with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
Remove the foil from the pan and stir the meat mixture. Pour the remaining two tablespoons of olive oil on top of mixture, recover, and bake for one more hour.
Serve the pizzaiola in steak rolls, over your favorite pasta, or prepared rice (I usually do it over rice and hope there’s leftovers!)

SOunds really good. Too bad Jimmy won't beef!:sad2:

Hey guys! Still sick but feeling a bit better. Last night went fairly well, the police had everything pretty much under control but they had cold weather and rain on their side. Here's the newspaper article on it. It has a nice picture of the Toronto Police lined up in full riot gear all the way up and down the main party street. :laughing:

GLad wasn't going to bad as you thought. Will check out the article later!

================

Off to soccer, which is probably going to be rained out..but we pick up shirts today...so we are off in a few minutes. From there we will prbably go have something to eat at Friendly's. WE are then headed over to my aunts so Jim can help my cousin study for her Praxis test (the state certification test to become a teacher). Hopefully we won't be there all day. I did not sleep well again last night...was prowling around until about 2am:sad2:

HAve a great day everyone! See you all later:goodvibes

I'm here and still on page 1:woohoo: And we haven't jumped!

TE - Jump the Shark from Wikipedia
Jumping the shark is a colloquialism coined by Jon Hein and used by TV critics and fans to denote the point in a television program's history where the plot veers off into absurd story lines or out-of-the-ordinary characterizations. This usually corresponds to the point where a show with falling ratings apparently becomes more desperate to draw in viewers. In the process of undergoing these changes, the TV or movie series loses its original appeal. Shows that have "jumped the shark" are typically deemed to have passed their peak.

I have alot to catch up on! but I have been reading along when I can, (or not on FB) UGGG.! :cutie:

Not much new with me,,,I`m still working at the Liquor Store and still enjoy it!
I`ve been re-connecting with my ex-fiancée. We havent seen each other in 21 years! but I loved him and always will. we have been e-mailing back and forth. its nice because I was able to say things that I`ve wanted to for all this time. I`ve talked to him on the phone twice. but we ran out of time. its been hard to find times to chat in private without "someone" else being home. we text too. he lives out in Boise ID. Married with 2 kids. Steve has no idea. I`ve saved his number in my phone as "Buzz".. its not going to go anywhere at all..we are just getting caught up again. we are both happy in our marriages. but,, it also has been kinda exciting having this happen. :rolleyes:

I`m going to take the kids to Friendlys for lunch! Sam, my 16 year old. is on his way back from 4 days on a class trip to DC. Steve and I are taking Ben and Annie tomorrow to the Big E! its a big Multi State fair! cant wait!! yes, we are leaving Sam home. is that mean? he just came back from a trip. and I dont want him to miss anymore school. also, its a chance to do something special with the 2 younger ones..

I`ll read back and catch up on everyone!! :hug: :hug: :hug:

Hi, everyone!

We had a great day yesterday - went for a nice little hike and then an easy boat ride - no swimming, very chilly, but relaxing and fun.

I am feeling like crap today, too - I had that bit early last week, and thought it was over, but I am totally sniffly and stuffy today. Sigh.

D's trying to take the boys out to the club to swim, but Woody's having a horrible fussy and attitude-filled day. I have a feeling I'm going to be here with him while D takes Buzz...

We're going to watch the first Harry Potter movie (I insisted we read the books first, but we've read the first two now) when they get back. We missed our movie night Friday night from being at our friends' house - we were out until nearly 11:00 - oops! :rotfl:- and then last night we weren't nearly as late coming off the lake, but it was still too late for a movie, and the kids had fallen asleep in the car, too.

Carrie, I debated whether or not to say anything, but it's because I care that I have to say, "Be careful." :hug: Keeping secrets from your spouse like this - no matter whether you think it's going anywhere or not - is hardly ever a good idea. How would you feel if it was his ex and he was doing this? If you told him you felt like you needed closure or whatever, he might understand, but I think nearly anyone would have a hard time with the secretive nature. I just don't want to see you wind up in huge fights and having real problems in your marriage over this. :hug: And, trying so hard to keep the secret has to be stressing you out, too, which affects other areas of your life.

Take it for what it's worth - I don't know your DH or how your own marriage works, but I know I'd be really POed at D if this was happening with him - and I'm not the jealous type. :confused3

:hug:

I have noted on this thread that the woman are extremely caring, supportive and extremely honest with each other. I appreciate that so much so I am going to add something today and I hope I am not stepping over the line.

Carrie, I am not judging you, I adore you, and want you happy but I feel I need to say something and I hope you don’t get upset with me.

Any “re-connecting” without your husband and/or the ex’s wife knowing is a red flag. It is good that you talked to the ex to get out things you have wanted to say for years, clearing away the past. The problems with it are:

- Talking on the phone and texting with him without Steve knowing.

- It being "hard to find time to chat in private without "someone" else being at home", if it is “not going anywhere” why does it matter who is home when you are talking to him?

- Saving his phone # in your phone under a false name, if it is “not going anywhere” why hide it?

You are walking on shaky ground here. How would you feel if Steve was talking on the phone, texting, and chatting in private with a woman and hiding it from you? How do you think he would feel if he found out you were doing this?

Hon, you stated you are in a “happy marriage”. The happy marriages/relationships I have seen are based on trust and honesty. You don’t want Steve to lose trust in you or break his heart do you? Is talking to your ex-fiancée worth risking doing that to your husband? To Steve this could look like an emotional affair and those are just as devastating or even more so than a physical one.

I know it is exciting, but you can’t reclaim your past and you in my opinion are risking your life now and your future.

Hey All! :wave2:

Been trying to catch up, it's been crazy around here!

Andy's been working so much lately, so I've been pretty much on my own dealing with the daily grind, I haven't had a chance to sit and chat.

Looks like we'll be heading to WDW in January for an adults only trip. We cancelled our Mexican cruise for next month *coughcoughSWINEFLUcoughcough*, so we thought a trip to WDW is just the ticket.

Here's the thing ... we're staying at ... wait for it ... wait for it ... POP CENTURY! :faint: You all know what a resort snob I am, but since it's just me and Andy, I can't see using points (also because I'm fresh out ;)) and I can't see spending money on the Poly. Well, unless a great code comes out or a incredible AP rates pops up. :teeth:

Anyway, we're heading out - I want to go to DLR to see the Halloween decorations and the Jack Skellington overlay on HM and the kids want to go costume shopping. We'll see who wins. ;)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Peace Out! :hippie:

Hi everyone! :wave2:

I've been to the Poly to have breakfast with Mel, Dawn & hubbies, as well as Jo and her sister. Tonga toast is so good! :lovestruc They were going to nap before heading to Epcot for F & W. Since we're going to MK tonight, I decided I needed a nap too since apparently my sleeping for more than 4 hours in a row is a silly pipe dream. :rolleyes: Good thing I have TiVo because 2.00 am tv is carp! Rachel came by for a minute whilst we were eating but didn't want to intrude. Like we would have cared! :goodvibes We all decided her pictures don't do her justice. She's a cutie! I also stopped at WoD to get a refund because I was charged twice for one item. The manager took care of it promptly with no questions asked. :woohoo: Sad that I thought it would be a bigger ordeal, but glad that it wasn't. I should Tweet that. :thumbsup2
It was so good to see you, Angela. :goodvibes I'm glad they didn't give you any trouble with the return. :thumbsup2

V- I'm sorry Leo's having a hard time. :guilty: I hope things will settle down so you two can enjoy a happy medium soon. :hug:

Kristel- I'm so sorry for your loss. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're back. It was a nice trip. We enjoyed the time together, but I certainly missed my babies a lot. Everywhere I'd look I would think, "Oh, C would love this!" or "A would be so proud of me for riding the ToT and RnRC!"
I'm glad we have a trip coming up in 6 months. :cutie: I had been thinking about moving it to October so we could do the Halloween stuff, but I think I'm going to keep it in March. I'm even going to try and stash away money for the next few months so I can add on a cruise while the kids can go free. :yay:
I'd better run and clean and organize while I have so much help. K's been working on his Lego thingy for over an hour with the kids. :lmao: Time to get moving, people! :rolleyes:
I have noted on this thread that the woman are extremely caring, supportive and extremely honest with each other. I appreciate that so much so I am going to add something today and I hope I am not stepping over the line.
I felt the same way - and you put it more clearly than I did. :hug:
I eagerly await the changes. :rotfl: Seriously, sounds fun no matter what. Have a great time at DLR today! :thumbsup2
Do any of you crafty people have a recommendation on a sewing machine for me? I just need to do stuff like hemming and small projects. I have my grandma's circa 1970 machine, but it's built into a table and weighs (truly) 200 pounds, and so it has to be in the basement. I can't get it to work right now - my mom had it repaired a couple of times, but it's old and complicated, and even if it's just me not knowing what I am doing, it's unusable.
She wants to buy me a sewing machine for Christmas, but T's talk of Halloween costumes reminded me that I might be in for making Buzz's this year, and if so, I'll either ask Mom to pre-gift me, or get it myself and she can do something else. I'm not looking for a lot, but it would be great if it a) worked; and b) could be used in the dining room or kitchen or whatever.
I know, I know! :hug: The way I see it is that this has to do with me. and not our marriage. I told Steve this summer that I`m friends on FB with my "first" one at 16. and how cool it is that we can actually find people like that! he wasnt that happy. wanted me to delete him. then he apoligised the next day. Bruce is a whole different story! It will run its course. we have gone the e-mail stage. now just talking when we can. then that will be it and we will be done. :hug: I`ll keep you upated.
````````````````````````

CE,,Sounds like you had a great day! what will you do with the boat when you take it out of the water? bring it home for the winter?

T. I wanted to stay at the POP on our adults only trip last Oct. Steve didnt want to have anything to do with it! :sad2: I think it looks like fun! :cheer2:

Glad you're back, and that you had fun! I have no issue with the trips that D & I take alone overseas or whatnot, but I always imagine that I'd feel guilty doing WDW without the kids. ;) Good for you for going and enjoying it, though! :goodvibes

:hug: Carrie I am just worried about you and if Steve's first reaction was to ask you to delete, that means he feels threatened. Please be careful.

As for Pop Century :hippie:, Bill and I will be there in 37 days, it will be our 4th time staying there. We love the background music, the huge icons, the friendly CM's and the busses. It is far from a Deluxe, but it suits our needs, a place to lay our heads inbetween being at the parks all day long :thumbsup2. We can also stay longer and spend more money while we are there which makes me happy :banana: .

=========================================================================

As for me, today I am resting, taking it easy ie. being lazy because well I took a fall yesterday. I posted about it on my PTR, today I am laughing about it but my knee is still throbbing, my wrist hurts, and I am sore all over. I feel like a total idiot. I might work on some trip stuff and do an update, I don't know.

CE,,Sounds like you had a great day! what will you do with the boat when you take it out of the water? bring it home for the winter?

No, they keep it up there, shrink wrapped and so forth. We didn't even buy a trailer - we don't have a vehicle big enough to tow it, and since they keep it for us... ;)
