Cereal bars in suit cases?

Just packing

Am I ok to put cereal bars in the suitcases? I don't want one of those food sniffer dogs to come and sit at the side of us when we get there - I would be mortified!

I put ours in hand luggage to have available for the flight (didn't all get eaten), didn't have any problems either with security or sniffer dogs.

That happened to my mum when she forgot to throw away an apple, luckily the dog handler found it funny.

just put them on your customs form - they're permitted, but you're supposed to declare any food on your form - whether permitted or not..

We too always take them with us and have never had a problem. One year my case was randomly selected for a 2nd check upon arrival and it was the case with the cereal bars in and they didn't say anything about them.
