Bringing Mom to WDW for MY bday, Sept '09! Day 4 Part 1..AK and Tusker House 12/30!

I said the same thing about my phone. Surprisingly, it never died, between pulling up my Google Docs spreadsheets, WDW Wait Times app, checking my TripIt itinerary, tweeting, taking a few pictures with the junk camera, and whatever else I did on the phone.

Turn off anything you don't need (wifi, bluetooth, etc.) and turn down the brightness a bit. Of course, the Storm probably has a better battery than the iPhone.

Sadly the Storm has a horrible battery. Even compared to the iPhone! :scared1: I do have a second battery though that I'll be bringing. :)

Scott..how the heck to do I make my photos on here link back to flickr? I've tried everything. I actually just mentioned this in your report as well. I've tried copying the code from flickr and nothing works. :( Even tried viewing the source code of your report and it's not working!

LOL I feel like we're chasing each other around the forum. I just saw you responded on my TR so I'm not going to go copy and paste it here. :)

Ok now on to my AK To Do list! I'm also going to post some random Disney scanned photos since I don't have any from AK from way back when.

Do:
o The Oasis Exhibits (always fun to walk around)
o Discovery Island Trails (fun to walk around)

o Habitat Habit (cute, can't help it lol)
o Conservation Station (interesting)
o Affection Section (again..cute lol)

J have you seen Nemo before? It was my favorite live show (better than FotLK IMO).

We had FastPasses for Everest and we literally walked in, got on a train and were finished with the ride in 9 minutes. FastPass indeed!

I generally agree your list, although we didn't do all the trails. I think my wife did Pangani while the rest of us rode KS, and we all walked through Maharajah (mostly for the tigers). A friend of mine from college was working inside the bat room at Maharajah, so you might see a CM named Tommy in there. He said he was going to be moving to Everest soon, though.

I really like that map on the wall at the Poly. That seems like something they should still do; put a nice property map on the wall in every room.

I'll be tweeting from my BB as well. :) Still
not even sure about MNSSHP. if I decide to attend before we leave, then i'll be
brining my pirate costume with me. If i decide VERY last minute then I'll
probably not dress up.

I haven't found a twitter program for my Storm that I really like.

Sadly the Storm has a horrible battery.

One thing I have noticed is that my year old battery is no where near as
good and the new battery I just purchased. But, alas the battery life is one of
the Storms downsides. I hate when I am a BBM chat with my son and it goes dead.

Gene.

Yup! I have seen Nemo and I think if we see another show it might be Nemo again.

I'll look for Tommy! :) And I totally agree about the maps in the rooms. It'd add a nice touch!

Your pics from your hiking trip are beautiful!!

I love seeing old pics, thanks for sharing. I know you must be so excited, your trip is so close. I'm so ready for mine, almost a month away!!!

Jen, your pictures from your hike are GREAT!

Where are the pictures from your trip to WDW in 1992??!!! LOL!!!

You're trip is coming up soon...I can never forget your birthday because it is only 7 days before mine! :)

Gotta love the 80s styles.....

Pictures are really priceless.

I LOVE Finding Nemo the Musical! It's the only show that I try not to miss.

5 days and not a hurricane anywhere right?

haha, and I can never forget your bday either! :) Oh and don't worry about the 1992 photos...eventually they'll get scanned and posted. maybe before my january trip! :thumbsup2

4 More Days!!!

I really don't have much else to talk about regarding my trip! :rotfl:

I have to go to the bank today or tomorrow (probably today?) to take out $50 in small bills. As for carrying my tripod, I think I'm just going to carry it in my hand, the bags I have are awkward. There's still another bag I want to test out with it though. We'll see.

I finally started cleaning my room to try getting organized. I seriously have a million things thrown all over because of my NH trip and other junk just piling up. The pile of shoes in the corner of my room is ridiculous so those have to go back in the closet too. Cleaned off the dressers of all the clothes and junk mail and now have a lovely pile of just Disney information and items (umbrellas, etc). Hmm...I probably should dust and vacuum as well. I honestly can't remember the last time I did that. :scared1: (I swear I'm normally tidy..lol)

Also want to figure out what to do with my LGMH. I brought them last trip too and never put them on display. I might put one in my hotel window just so people know it's a DISer.

Hopefully laundry will be done tomorrow or Thursday. I have a ton of dirty stuff from NH and I'd rather it all be clean before Disney!

OK that's it for now. My coworker that's bringing his family for their first trip ever next week just stop by and had a million questions. I hope I didn't overwhelm him! :) I just feel bad because they missed their 90 day mark so they don't have a ton of ADRs booked! :(

I safety pinned my LGMH to my camera bag. I plan to safety pin a few on the back of my baseball caps. I only had 1 person come up to me during the last trip and ask if I was a Diser.....

Thanks for the reminder about LGMH! I need to get to Home Depot and quick! The next few days should fly by!

Honestly I forgot about a LGMH and I never saw one the entire trip.

I didn't get as much tripod time as I would have liked. I should have brought it the first night but only had the Gorillapod. I only brought it the last night and then was so tired that I didn't want to stay out after Illuminations to shoot during EMH. Next time I'm going to use my tripod more.

Sounds like you need one of the 50s Prime Time Cafe wait staff to come nag you until you clean your room! :rotfl:

I don't think I have anything that would identify me from these boards. That would be neat to be recognized, though!

Oh - and that tile floor at the Poly. That there is a thing of beauty!
