~We seldom report of having eaten too little~ w/ PICS! ~ UPDATE: New Thread Started!

Have a GREAT time! W ecan't wait to see your reviews!

Too excited!:woohoo: it's almost here!

Wahoo! Looking forward to your reviews - especially the F&W Festival stuff. We are going the end of October and always try to plan out trips around the F&W festival

Are you doing any of the $8 Seminars? Interested in seeing how the they will work now that you have to pay

Yes we are doing some of the $8 seminars:

Sept 26th Caymus 2pm
Sept 27th American Brownie 1pm
Sept 30th Chef TJ from Ohana 4:30pm

I have no frame of reference in terms of how they will compare to previous seminars as I never attended the free seminars. We are TIW members so the seminars cost us $5 with advance purchase.

Just now saw this thread!

So apparently our 27ths are identical! We'll be at the 1pm seminar at the same time and most likely V&A at the same time. Oh and the 28th we are also at California Grill. On the 1st - We are doing the Jiko's Signature Event though.

Oh my goodness! :rotfl:

Well thank you for answering my V&A question! Too funny that we will be there the same night.

The American Brownie tasting looks fantastic. I didn't even realize there was a signature event at Jiko that night so now I've switched my ADR to Sept 30th. I'm just a bit concerned that the chefs might be more focused on the event than the normal diners.

Haha. It is funny. I'll be the girl in the black knee length halter dress (sans stockings ;))

It does look fantastic. However, we might be at 'stuffed mode' at that point with having the Sweet Sundays event shortly before.

Awww, I understand the switching of the meal. I dont think it would take away too much from the Jiko's staff. Apparently its taking place outside of Jikos on the savannah or something (then again this is just internet ramblings at this point)

As I sit here at my desk, eating my sad little greek salad with chicken....I realize that at this time tomorrow I will be...

Having lunch at Kona Cafe :lovestruc

We are leaving in T minus 14 hours and counting! (Yup that's 3:30am :scared1:)

Also, I just received an updated confirmation from Disney Destinations LLC and it is listing Lagoon View Club Level :woohoo::woohoo: Looks like an upgrade  :cloud9:

We're here!!

We arrived at the Polynesian at noon (having been "up" since 2am [on only 2 hours sleep :scared1:])

We were given a card at the gatehouse and instructed to give it to the valet. From the moment we arrived every CM was personable and friendly. The valet had bell services call to see if our room was ready - it was :worship:

Someone from bell services drove us to Hawaii and we were greeted by Wes. He handed us our itinerary and our welcome package, told us to go and check out the room, unpack and get settled and then wander back down to get our keys.

We were upgraded to Lagoon View :wizard: We are on the third floor and have a PERFECT view of Cinderella Castle :lovestruc

As soon as we had unpacked and got our keys we went to Kona Cafe for lunch. Unfortunately this was a less than pleasant experience :headache:

We were seated quickly, and ordered quickly! We had barely eaten and were ready for our first dose of Disney food.

I ordered the Polynesian Plate Lunch, Grilled Teriyaki Steak with Pineapple Salsa, Sticky Rice & Macaroni Salad.

DMom ordered the Kona Salad with Chicken
ry%3D400

DDad ordered the Angus Chuck Kahuna Burger
ry%3D400

DMom and DDad had Longboard Lager to drink and I had a margarita, salted on the rocks

Our drinks arrived within minutes and our food shortly after. Our waitress checked on us 5 mins after the food arrived and realized by DDad had not received any condiments. She asked what he would prefer and he asked for Dijon mustard, she replied "No problem" and went off to get it, or so we thought.

Behind us, a table of 12 was awaiting dessert. Our waitress walked their desserts to them, 2 at a time. That is 6 trips back and forth to the pastry kitchen! Meanwhile, DMom and I are eating our lunches and DDad is left waiting to eat. We attempted to get her attention multiple times but she was noticably ignoring our table. After 15 minutes, 12 desserts delivered and 3 other servers simply standing there...and my dad's burger being cold, she finally comes out and says "Oh I couldn't find it!"

DDad sent the burger back, DMom & I were nearly finished. The food that we had was great, but the service sucked :confused3

Thankfully our next food experience was FAR better....The Food & Wine Festival Preview!!! (next post)

May I ask what that tasty huge beverage to the right of the creme brulee might be? It looks delish!

I'm pretty sure that's a Kir Royale or a Pomegranate Kir Royale. Quite tasty ... they are a favorite drink of mine when visiting the French pavilion. :thumbsup2

I've come out of the woodwork to do a little happy dance for your live report!

Like you, I am a big fan of oybolshoi and MickeyNicki. In the past I posted more often and even attempted witty comments on oybolshoi's hilarious dining tales, but mostly I have been a lurker lately - working full time and trying to get into grad school takes up all my DisBoards devotion time.

But, I am fortunate enough to look forward to experiencing F&W for the first time this year and so whenever I get a moment to spare I stalk out as many reviews and pictures as I possibly can find so that I know exactly what I'll be indulging in when I arrive on Oct. 30th. That's normal right? :rotfl: Did I mention that this is a big 30th wedding anniversary celebration trip for my parents so we're going to be on the deluxe dining plan? I think I might need bigger pants already. :rotfl: I will not hide in the shadows any longer, I will stand tall and proudly proclaim - I love food porn!

Now, when's the next update? popcorn::

In the name of all that is hungry, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN???

I rarely forget a poster and I remember you from such reports as Argle-Bargle and The Food was not Undelicious. Don't be a stranger ... anywhere around the food boards. This is a great group of people that will only be made better by you joining in!

And now ... back to the OPs live food porn!! :cool1:
