My travel documents have not come- what next?

Hi guys, this is a bit long-winded:

After being told by Disney UK (Openride) that my documents had been re-sent via Special Delivery to arrive today, and after taking four hours off work (which I will not get paid for) to wait at home for them, I still don't have them. Apparently they first sent the documents out last week, however I find it hard to believe that two attempts to send them have failed. They have verified my address twice in the midst of my many phone calls, so I know that's not the problem.

Anyway, after waiting for 25 minutes to be put through to Openride, the lady I spoke to was apologetic and she put me on hold for almost 10 minutes, in which time she was trying to find out the tracking number for the documents that were supposedly dispatched yesterday. When she came back, there was no mention of this tracking number and she said they would send new ones out to my work address. This made me think that whoever was supposed to send them out yesterday, didn't.

I feel so frustrated and God knows whether or not they will finally reach me tomorrow. If they don't, that's it- I leave on Friday morning. I know that this doesn't affect the flights as I can do online check-in. I'm just concerned that there will be problems when I come to check in at CSR. I have printed my initial confirmation from Disney and my final invoice, which shows that I have fully paid for the room, tickets and DDP. Also, I'm not sure what happens with the Magical Express- do they normally send a voucher or something to confirm your place? I'd hate to turn up in Orlando and not be able to get transported to the hotel. Please help with any words of wisdom, I feel really stressed out and disappointed. :sad2:

I don't think there is anything you need in the pack although I have never used DME, I would guess its like everything else these days you won't need anything just your surname, thats all we used for everything last month, flights, hotel, free DDP, tickets & dining reservations. No paperwork required for anything.
Only thing you will not get is the bonus items, preferred firework voucher which I have heard you don't need, vouchers for discount at Planet hollywood & boat rental. Only item we used was the arcade credit (they sent actual card) but the games at OKW were rubbish anyway so worthless.

Easy for me in this situation as I never worry, I know all will be well but anyone that stresses its difficult. Hope everything goes OK for you

Yes, I hope this is the case.

Thanks. :) I wish I could worry less, I'd love to be more laid-back!

how frustrating  I agree with Wayne, you should be fine x

Thanks, I hope so! :goodvibes

 I have read on the other board :upsidedow people having the same problem with Openride - but they have always got their tickets, I am sure you will do too :thumbsup2

I'm told that with disney hotels you just need confirmation number and some photo i.d when you check in. Like most things these days you don't tend to need letters, invoices and actual tickets. But i do know how not having them can make you panic....i still don't trust my flight e-ticket and online check in....I'll still arrive three hours before my flight :lmao:

Have a great trip, i know you'll be fine :)

I hope your tickets arrive asap. However it has been widely reported on tv today that there has been a postal strike and a lot of mail is still sitting in sorting offices so this may be why you haven't received previously sent items. They are also saying that there are possible strikes due to happen next week. So for anyone expecting tickets and currency (like me!) could be a bumpy ride!! Would advise getting in touch with the relevent companies and offering to pay for a courier in extreme cases.:confused3
You think you have everything planned and sorted then something you just wouldn't have thought about comes out of nowhere:scared1:

Good luck and hope all goes well and enjoy:hippie:

Good news- they have finally arrived! :yay:

Hmm, it's worrying when these strikes come about and you're waiting on important documents. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. :wizard:

Good luck and hope all goes well and enjoy:hippie:

Thanks! I feel like I can finally get excited now! :woohoo:

That is good news - if only so that you can now relax and enjoy building up to your holiday :thumbsup2

Oh dear, I hope they have arrived by now, we have had similar problems, though not so late, its causing problems for my Daughters friend, who's family now might not be able to get the visa she needs to travel in time, I just so hope my Daughter & her friend aren't going to be dissapointed, & that she will still be able to come.

I wonder if it was your tickets they sent us by mistake??....... they rang just as I was opening them, so we didn't look, I just took them to the post office & sent them back as they asked, they said they were sending ours imediately by express......... still took a week of irate phone calls to finally get our correct tickets....same as you, they kept insisting they had been sent.............they hadn't at all, finally got a call center staff member who DID his job, rather than fob us off, & he sorted it out for us

hope your are too:flower3:

I wonder! :confused3 The same happened to me, it was a week of frantic phone calls until a competent member of staff at Openride sorted it all out for me- her name is Rebecca, so anyone who has booked with Disney UK and is chasing up tickets should ask for her! :thumbsup2
