The headband is to die for! Gorgeous. I love all the dress choices! I am so glad that I am not having BM's at my VR b/c I would not be able to pick a choice. I love the look of lots of different dresses in the same color. Good luck with that!

As for the no snowglobes...I love snowglobe centerpieces. That is something that will last long after your day. It would be great to share them with everyone. Like figmentfan said - you should bring some with you and designate certain people to set them up. I don't think Disney can tell you NO to that. Disney may not set them out for you, but you should be able to bring them without any complaints. I also love the look of the floral lights in the Gel Cylinders. Maybe you could order a few small "short" ones for each table and put a snowglobe in the center and the cylinders around it.

I :love:LOVE:love: the hair you posted (totally stealing the pic for my filespirate:) and I think you can work that hairband in PERFECT:lovestruc! It's glad to hear snow globes may still be in the running too:banana:

awesome hair pic Sam, love the loose curls, I will be adding it to my inspiration pics as well lol!

very pretty tiara! You should post pics of the earrings you mentioned too :goodvibes

I'm hoping and hoping that the snowglobe idea comes through.

I love the hair! The headband is gorgeous as well.

Thanks Adelia, Sam and Laurie. I do love that hair style. Of course I showed FMIL and she said she could just throw my hair for free instead paying someone to do that...so I'm guessing she didn't like it. Oh well.

On the BM dress front, we received the fabric samples. We found some colors we liked. Of course one color I like, the green, my mom doesn't like. I'm going to order sample flowers from the silk site and then compare. Of course I realized all the fabrics I like are the more expensive one. (Of course :headache: ) So it would be $200 per dress...which seems kinda high. But I like that they have so many dresses with straps. And DF and I were talking. We are putting the groomsmen in dark gray, so we were thinking of putting his sister and his groomswoman in the gray with a purple sash (if the BMs are in the purple with green sashes, and groomsmen in purple vests) so they don't stand out.

Examples from davids bridal site (NOT THE DRESSES, JUST EXAMPLES)

I think the purple on the end, just stands out more. So I think we're going with Adelia's suggestion.

Also, we made our Save the dates today. We bought the postcards a LONG time ago and have procrastinated. Of course, the printing didn't work out perfectly so we need to get address labels and print out the addresses and stamp them.

DARKER BUT WITHOUT THE GLARE:

DF has really gotten into planning as well except he wants to pick things out and have definitive items but it's difficult, as we all know, to plan decisively at this point. But it's nice to see him involved. Right now we're focused on the BMs dresses, I'm looking for rings, and I think we're going to have a Halloween engagement party and have professional e-pics.

And that's it for now...:goodvibes

Your STD's are hysterical! I love them!

Love the save the dates! Awesome :thumbsup2

Thanks Tanya and Laurie! I'm not a traditionalist (Can you tell :cool1:) and I really love those cards.

And now it has begun! (School that is). So I've been busy. So far, all my students seem decent, of course it was only day 1. I'm starting at a new school but everyone seems very nice and it's quite exciting.

I'm hoping wedding planning won't fall to the side during the school year, but then again there isn't much we can do before our contract is signed. However, here are some rings I like:

I always thought I'd wear my rings separate, one on each ring finger.

But here's the one I originally liked. It's much thinner and delicate (and I have tiny fingers) and could possibly be worn with the ring, or with additional stacking rings (hmm...anniversaries maybe...;) )

But I'm now becoming more partial to this ring. It's simple, and tapered like my engagement ring:

What do you think?

i love the second one. it is simple and elegant and you can choose to wear it alone or with other rings :) especially if you have small fingers, it won't look so overwhelming.

I love the second ring! My e-ring came with a band, but DF said if he has the extra money he will buy me one like that, since I love the style so much! I love the hair and headband!! I found the same inspiration board and I love that hair!! I think it is so great! Oh, and greenweddingshoes is my fav blog ever!!!

That is a great hairstyle, and lovely headband.

I agree with the others that 2nd ring is stunning.

Thanks Steph. I do have such tiny fingers. The middle 2 rings are the smaller thinner ones. My one fear is that it will appear too small. But I've always loved the second ring.

I love the second one, you can definitely wear it alone and I think it's so unique and pretty!

Thanks Sara!! I can either get the one designed in the front, or the eternity style. I feel like it's a waste for the eternity ring, but that way, it's never the "wrong side"

Aw that's so nice of your DF Karen. That style is so unique and pretty. I do love that hair and the headband, even if FMIL isn't such a big fan. I like the unique style. And I'm obsessed with greenweddingshoes. OBSESSED!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Claire. I just love how it looks.

And I guess my original ring favorite is the winner here so far! I guess it just means, you should stick with your gut.

Eternity bands are pretty, I have small prong set diamonds in my e-ring band and they go 1/2 way around, most people think it's an eternity band when they first see it. Even when my ring shifts a little, you still only see the diamonds. I realized though that I do a lot with my hands and the back of my e-ring band is already a little scratched, so I would be afraid I would lose some of the stones back there.

ok. Hold the phone greenweddingshoes.com ... AWESOME! Look a picture of someone else who had my idea!

Oh and your STDs are great! They crack me up with that cat :rotfl:

I also like the middle two rings you posted :thumbsup2

Wow, Sara, that is an excellent point. I was worried about scratches on the back of the ring, not about diamonds dropping out :scared1: Now I think I'll definitely be going with a 1/2 eternity band, or just setting. Thank you!

I'm glad you enjoyed it Becky! I knew you would. And here's something else silly for you to enjoy:

And now for something pertinent. I think Mike and I are going to schedule a site visit when we go down to run the marathon in January, just to make sure we like our venues (even though I think we will). Also I'm ordering some samples of flowers from the silk/latex flower site mentioned earlier in the blog. Here are the ones I'm ordering in the correct colors:

I want to see if a) they are a good quality and b) they are a good color.

Then we can match fabrics for BM dresses and really pick the wedding colors.
And I think I'm going to order that tiara and the shoes. May else well, right?

Sorry about the lack of posting here, and on others. School has started again and so has the dreaded lesson plans, powerpoints and grading  But I'll never forget about my Dis, it's my retreat, and I'm trying to get on here often.

I think the half band will look just as good! And you can even make the front diamonds bigger if you want. :thumbsup2 I know it's a scary thought, I have heard of the ones in the back falling out , even when people get the jewelry cleaned because it goes in that machine.

That dancing cat is hilarious! Reminds me of my Max.

The flowers look really pretty. :goodvibes
