MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

However, if I do buy tickets for MVMCP, can we essentially Park Hop on that day even though we don't have Park Hoppers? Go to AK for example in the morning and then the MK for the party at night?

Since it's not on the same ticket media, it is not technically park hopping. If you use your Magic Your Way package tickets for another park, then you can use your MVMCP for the Magic Kingdom that evening it is very similiar and achieves virtually the same thing for that one particular day.

Thanks:thumbsup2

Still on the fence about the party...I'm glad to know this though.

Anyone have any thoughts on where they will be? :confused3

On the map from the 2007 party, there are symbols showing the locations where the treats are given out, but the map doesn't identify the attractions and restaurants like the regular maps do, but by comparing it to a regular map it looks like Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Columbia Harbour House, Mrs. Potts' Cupboard and Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station.

Thank you!! :thumbsup2

Are these discount dates available for all to see and thus, plan the MVMCP night? In that case, Thursday Dec 10th sounds like a winner. :woohoo:

I have a question for those who have done the party before....

What were the times of the different shows, parades, wishes, etc...?

Thanks!

Again, this is from 2007:

Parade

8:15 and 10:30

Wishes

9:30

Mickey's "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" Show (although I don't know if this one is going to show because the Galaxy Palace Theater is no longer there)

7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:15 and 11:15

"Celebrate the Season" Show (castle forecourt stage)

7:45, 10:05 and 11:30

Belle's Enchanted Christmas (a storytelling thing)

7:15, 8:10, 10:00 and 11:15

Of course, this was from 2007, so there's no guarantee it'll be the same this year, especially with regards to the "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" show.

Yep, you can essentially park hop with your regular base ticket to one of the three parks and then use the party ticket and go to MK after 4 pm! That's one of the features I like about having the party ticket, or and added benefit sort of! Or, you can relax the early part of the day at your resort, swim, or shop at DTD, whatever, and still get lots of park fun later, usually less crowd then, too, at least in our 5 MVMCP experiences, we always had low crowds compared to a regular day at the park.

Also, no one said they have more that hot cocoa and cookies!!!
There is also apple juice and apple slices in little bags

Thanks for the tip!! My ds has severe allergies and I was wondering what we could do. This is perfect!!!

Sorry for the bump, but I found this thread and wanted to ask a question..

I think I've finally decided to buy tickets for the party. Huzzah! Now, here comes the tricky part.. do you guys think we will die of exhaustion if we do the KTTK Tour that morning? We could go back to the resort in between the two, and we won't have our son with us, do you think we will make it or is that planning too much in one day?

I haven't read this whole thread so I'm sorry if I am re-posting info. My family and I have been going to MVMCP since I was 3...this will be party #15! :woohoo:

Tips:
*If you get in the park at 4, don't forget to go back down mainstreet around 7. It snows and you definately don't want to miss that. ;) They turn the snow off at the end of the night so if you are one that wants to close the park down, make time to enjoy the snow.
*Disney has the BEST hot cocoa and cookies...and best of all it's FREE! :goodvibes
*You can see Bell in her red gown and Mickey and Minnie are dresses in their caroler outfits.

I can't think of anything right now but I'm sure I will later. :D

What are pop warner kids???

And....I am a Disney Visa card holder, but I don't know how to find out about discounts on stuff. Is there a website or something to check for different discounts, or do you ask everytime you shop at a store or make a reservation, etc... Like I wouldn't have thought to ask about discounted MVMCP tickets....I guess Im just cluelss.

I also don't understand how the reward points work. I know last year I used some, but I had just opened my card and they told me what to do. Since then, I havent' used any nor have I checked out if I have any to use. Do they expire? I need a good place to go to read about how this works. I think I'll try their website (disney chase ), but anyone else have a website that does a good job explaining all the perks of the card that is reader friendly??

I started a thread on this very subject and it's gotten a ton of messages. Look it up and you should find answers to many of your questions about the Disney Visa. The thread is called "Should I get a Disney Visa?"

Well, the two times I've done MVMCP I've toured the deluxe resorts during the day to check out the holiday decorations, which is a bit involved since I strictly rely on Disney transportation, and it doesn't wipe me out (and I plan to do it again this year). I think since the KTTK tour is just in the morning (it just takes a few hours, right?), you should be fine.

I expect that MK will be decked out in time for the first MVMCP on November 10. How about the other parks? Do they all decorate on the same schedule? What about the Osborne light display at DHS?

Great tips! Thanks. I did the party in '07 and missed a few things like Bell and the snow.

I'm going with a group on Friday 12/11. I hope it's not packed. I went on a Thursdat in '07 and it was wonderful. I walked out of there at 12:30. Absolutely perfect!

Thank you for this thread! I have been to MNSSHP 2 times but this will be my first time for MVMCP. I am so excited! :)

We are trying to decide whether Sunday 12/13, Tuesday 12/14, or Thursday 12/17 would be better... any suggestions?
I am leaning towards Sunday night, we arrive saturday afternoon, so we should still be pretty fresh if we take a long rest during the day as well.

Betsy, we faced the exact same decision. I chose Sunday, 12/13.

I ruled out Thursday because it's the second to last party (Friday, 12/18 is the last one). That left Sunday and Tuesday, both of which are "school nights", so I was hoping that mean less local families.

And I'm also thinking that folks arriving over the weekend would want to settle into the Disney experience and might therefore wait until Tuesday for the party. So we're going on Sunday.

Good luck with your decision and have fun.

My DH and I will be there on December 3rd. It will be our first time at MVMCP.

Are you sure that we will be able to enter around 4PM?

Will that day be crowded?

We're going on Dec 6th! So I'm officially subscribed to this thread!

The weather comments caught me by surprise. Of those that have been down to WDW in the early part of december, what kind of weather, on average, can you expect during the day or night?

Thanks Robyn for the advice, sounds pretty good to me! :yay:
Are the majority of folks waiting to buy tickets to closer to the day they are going or buying them ahead of time? I have read comments both ways...
I almost think, for me, buying them ahead of time takes away the extra expense and is one less thing for me to worry about as that wonderful time approaches!!!!:banana:

Today is a very sad day :sad1::sad2::sad1:. We just had to cancel Christmas trip scheduled from 12/12 - 12/19. I lost my job in July and thought things would work out but they havent.

We booked back in May with free dining and went ahead a purchased 4 MVMVP tickets for 12/15 (Tuesday).

Does anyone know what I can do with the tickets, can I sell them or do I have to just eat them.

Thanks
