Hey everyone! Well we're at the final countdown for my holiday now, only 4 and a bit weeks to go and I'm panicking I've forgotten something important.

Flights and hotel booked, flight and booking details in my folder.

Transfers paid for and booked, emailing asking for a booking confirmation and will print that out and take it with me.

Park tickets paid for and in my folder.

Clearwater dolphin cruise booked and have the voucher in my folder.

ESTA sorted, have asked a friend to print them out for me just now and will take them with me just in case I need them.

Got suitcases ready to be packed.

Travel insurance details in my folder.

Lifts to Gatwick and back sorted (well, almost, my Mum needs to book the time off yet but she'll be able to no problems).

Is there anything I've missed out? Any paper work I should have printed of, or need to take with me? I have a gut feeling I'm forgetting something really important!

Also, I have no idea what to pack either lol. I don't want to take too much on the way there. I have mist spray, bum bags and back packs, lanyards and pins, autograph books, will put in about 5 tops each in? 3 for hot weather, 2 for cool? That sound ok? Pair of shorts and trousers too. Underwear obviously. We'll have our coats with us anyway as we'll most likely be wearing them on the way to the airport knowing English weather lol.

Got a pair of crocs each, probably trainers too.

I know I'm forgetting loads! What does everyone pack and take with them?

Money/Travellers Cheques - with chq numbers kept seperately?
Driving Licence?
Swimming cossie?!

Haha, yeah that might be a good idea! lol Got my fairfx card all topped up and ready to go and will be taking my driving licence too lol. Thanks both of you.

Anything else, keep em coming!

All that you need is passports, money, tickets, ESTA!! :thumbsup2

My DF and I go with the rule that as long as we have these, we can sort anythin else out when there!! Luggage goin missin etc is BAD but hey, nothing that cant be replaced!!

We go three weeks on Sat and CANT WAIT.......got all the usual stuff too worry about rememberin and then the wedding stuff on top........Now there is stuff there we CANT replace! :rotfl2:

Address of the nearest Walmart...

...that way when you get there and go "Oh crap I forgot xxxxx you'll know where the nearest place is to buy what you need :rotfl:

We personally make sure we have photocopies of passports, driving licenses and park tickets - just in case anything happens to the originals - and stick them in our Florida folder. And also make sure you take a picture of the back of your fast pass card once you get there (if you plan on using one that is) just in case you lose the original.

Don't forget your camera :thumbsup2 Also charger for this and if you're taking a phone - remember the charger! Have you got adaptors for the plug sockets?

You've still got loads of time and it looks like you have most things covered :thumbsup2

Fast pass card? I thought your park ticket was your fast pass thingy? lol I'm going to take a pic of the first photopass card I get so I don't lose any of my pics.

Yep, got some adapter plugs yesterday and will make sure I remember my camera and chargers lol.

Do you have your luggage labels? Are they written out correctly?
Do you need anything like Jet Ease to help combat the stress of the flight?
Do you have your medications sorted out into hand luggage and checked cases?
All your paperwork printed off and placed somewhere safe? Copies to a family member in case they need to contact you while you are away.
Transport organised to the airport each way? For those of us travelling by train I strongly suggest checking the National Rail Enquiries site there are some repairs ongoing across the nation.
Sorted out arrangements for any pets while you are gone.
££s to spend in the airport in case of delays... you may want some food and drinks or a book while you wait.
Travel outfits sorted out??

This is a great thread!! Hope it's still around in March next year when I'll need it too! :lmao:

Do you have some single $$ for tipping when you arrive?

Phone cards or mobile phones, quarters and pennies for the arcade games and for phone calls from a pay phone.
Double check your electrical items and make sure you have chargers too and something to protect cameras in case it rains heavily OR you go to Seaworld or somewhere with salt water which can ruin cameras and camcorders and phones if they come into contact with it. Tripod if you want to take one.
Favourite cereal bars and your preferred brand of tea bags or coffee sealed up still.
Well fitting swimwear :thumbsup2many of the rides in TL and BB are not suitable for bikinis and if you want to go down the big flume rides make sure you can keep covered up gravity will affect you and your swimsuit and make sure you have some kind of aqua shoes the paths in the water parks do get really hot and you don't want burned feet. BTW at the water parks they will not let you wear any swim wear with metal decoration so if yours has any metal on forget it and buy something else or you will be limited with what you can enjoy.
Travel laundry detergent in case you need to quickly rinse out anything (accidents do happen) and your preferred brand of wash tablets (maybe enough for 6 loads) and dryer sheets if you don't want to take loads of clothes. You can always buy more t-shirts and things out there so don't worry about having more than about 8 days worth of clothing. Well broken in shoes are a must at least one pair each. Comfort is better and worth so much more than fashionable trends. Keep your feet happy and you'll be so glad you did because you'll enjoy the days so much more than having awful blisters. If you suffer with the heat and humidity get a wide brimmed hat wile you are there it really does help stop you overheating and of course drink plenty of non-alcoholic beverages and try to keep off the coffee during the day it does dehydrate you.
Did you make any ADRs you'll need a copy of your number for each one if you've made them, keep it on you it can be very worth while if they can't find your name on the list just give them the number they will find you. Remember if you have ADRs be at the dining location "at least 15 minutes prior to your dining time" to allow them to check you in some places could have queues so allow plenty of time to get there too.

i did our ESTA before we left and was told at gatwick check in that orlando dont do it yet and still had to fill in the green and blue and white forms for immigration! so a pen would be good to fill in the forms

lol dont bring big coats, only shoerproof light ones or rainmacs, you wont need big oats, even when it rains is not cold, we only ever bring the fold into bag type coats for the kids and hoodies for chillier evenings but dont use them much, big coats take uo too much uneesary space, if you r being dropped off collected u dont need them#!

ADR's printed off after all the hard work getting them!

Any medication you take?

Anti-bac hand wipes for the flight (the toilets . . . yuck!!)

Phone numbers of bank / credit card company just in case the worst happens

Glasses / sunglasses (I've forgotten them before!!):sad2:

Spare clear bags for liquids on flight home, as well as outward journey

Judge me all you like but I take a small sewing kit . . . I ate so much this year that I popped the button off a pair of trousers so actually had to use it!!!:rotfl2:

You are just so funny I like the way you think, I'm taking a sewing kit too it's only small but it has everything I need for any "wardrobe malfunctions" ;) Oh remember to keep a couple of spare carrier bags handy they can double as laundry totes and they are handy for any extra "carry on " items you may buy before you come home, let's face it we come back with more stuff than we take;)

Do you have your luggage labels? Are they written out correctly?

Not yet, will get on them this week!

All your paperwork printed off and placed somewhere safe? Copies to a family member in case they need to contact you while you are away.

I've just got them all (hopefully) printed off and will keep them in my folder. I didn't even think of copying them for family, good idea.

I have my mum taking me to the airport and picking me up when I get home, and taxis' (holidaytaxis.com, £90 for 3 of us return, bargain!) to and from POP from Sanford.

Sorted out arrangements for any pets while you are gone.

Partner is staying at mine looking after the house and pets, and getting some shopping in for when we get back so I don't have to when I'm shattered! lol

££s to spend in the airport in case of delays... you may want some food and drinks or a book while you wait.

I'll have my debit card, but I'll now take some cash too, and I think $200 cash will be enough for tips etc? And places that don't take cards. I have my fairfx card for everything else.

This is a great thread!! Hope it's still around in March next year when I'll need it too! :lmao:

Do you have some single $$ for tipping when you arrive?

I will do, I'm changing some cash into dollars in a few days to take with us.

Phone cards or mobile phones,

Where can I get these from? I was going to drive to Walmart or Publix but now I've cancelled the car I'm not sure where to get them. I read someone did and online thing for calling the UK? Is there anywhere I can buy them here, or near the resort/parks?

quarters and pennies for the arcade games and for phone calls from a pay phone.

Can you get quarters from the post office? I thought they only changed notes? If so, I'll have to buy something at Sanford when we get there so we have some change.

Double check your electrical items and make sure you have chargers too and something to protect cameras in case it rains heavily OR you go to Seaworld or somewhere with salt water which can ruin cameras and camcorders and phones if they come into contact with it.

All I have at the minute is an adapter plug for my laptop. My camera is a battery one so I'll have to stock up on batteries. I only have a simple bumbag too, any recommendations for waterproof ones?

Tripod if you want to take one.
Favourite cereal bars and your preferred brand of tea bags or coffee sealed up still.

Oh yes, teabags!! I can't go without a decent cuppa for two weeks, good job you reminded me of that lol

I'm going to Primark on Sunday for a proper shop, so will get us all new swimsuits and a few summer clothes there. D

I've just done this now and it's printing off as we speak! lol

Lol, no these are only jacket type coats. Something to keep the chill off at night if it gets a bit cold, but even then I doubt we'll wear them, even when it's cold over there it's warmer than here! lol

Thanks everyone!! If there's anything else, please let me know!

if you are hiring a car then have loose change for toll roads on your way from airport to resort

I wouldn't worry about quarters at this stage, you're not likely to need them on the first day unless you're driving. Some dollar bills are good to have though for the inevitable tips :)
