2010 dining plan for DVC members

I know there must be a thread on this....but I cant find it anywhere. What is the price of the 2010 dining plan for DVC members? (we buy the plan seperately, since we dont do packages for rooms) What is the price for the regular dining plan, the counter service plan and the deluxe? thanks in advance!

I'd be curious about the 2009 rates too -- we are debating whether to take the plan via a DVC rental.

The rates for DVC members are the same as the general DDP rates. I know that the Regular DDP (1 TS, 1 CS, 1 Snack per day) is going up to $41.99 per adult per day in 2010 and the Counter Service DDP is going to $31.99 or $32.99 per adult per day. The Deluxe DDP is staying at $71.99 per adult per day. I don't have the kids' prices but I do remember that they didn't go up more than a dollar or two, if at all.

There has also been mention of a surcharge during the holiday periods in 2010, effectively adding $5 per day per adult to the regular DDP.

I agree, but I am happy that on the DVC member site, there is no indication YET of the seasonal surcharge in 2010 for DVC members staying on points. So far the only price they list for the basic DDP is $41.99 per adult per night and $11.99 per child per night. The adult price was increased by $2 per night and the child's price by $1 per night.

We're going to add the basic DDP regardless, but it would be nice if there is no surcharge because it would save us $120 more over the course of our 10-night trip in July 2010. If the seasonal surcharge goes into effect for us, the basic DDP would still save us money so we are still going with it. So far so good, but with Disney you never know.

Yes, just make sure you have the member add it more than 48 hours before your arrival. After that point it can no longer be added. You'll pay for the plan at check-in.

DH & I have pretty much decided on the 2nd week in August 2010 the week before the DP price would change so hopefully it'll be $42 for us all year.

Just looked at the DP for 2010, and MAN did they pull a bunch of places!

The following restaurants are ON THE 2009 plan, but not on the 2010 plan.

RESORTS:

Big River Grille at Boardwalk and everything at Coronado Springs...

EPCOT:

QS: Boulangeri, Cantina de San Angel, Lotus Blossum, Tangeirine Cafe, Yakatori House

TS: Chefs de France, Nine Dragons, Restaurant Marakesh, San Angel Inn, Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, Tutto Italia.

(Good luck getting into Le Cellier now!)

With the price of the regular plan going up, and the quality QS places in Epcot and DTD off the plan, the delux is looking like a better and better option in 2010.

I have read that they continue to negotiate the plan with the non-Disney-owned restaurants and many are added by the time the actual start of the year rolls around. I don't know how accurate that is, but it seems reasonable, since the only ones listed so far are those.

Actually all summer until 8/15 is at the higher rate but Labor Day will be $42

Exactly the non-Disney owned restaurants are never on the 2010 brochure when it is first released but they will be.

So this is true? We are going from April 15-24 so I think this is a non peak season. But that was one of the benefits when we went during Easter week of this year that we were safe from the surcharge.

Have they listed this somewhere?

I would imagine that it would be the same DDP rate if you are renting points, because it is the same type of stay (DVC resort staying on points), not a Magic Your Way package.

If you are going when it is not during the surcharge season it would not affect you whether you rent points or make a cash reservation through Disney with a MYW package.

I will keep checking the DVC member site to make sure there is no surcharge, but honestly, DH and I have discussed it and decided that whether there is a surcharge or not, we will still get the basic DDP because it fits the way we eat on vacation, and it still saves us money either way. So for now I will expect them to add the surcharge and I will be pleasantly surprised at the extra savings if they don't add the surcharge. That way we won't be set up for disappointment.

Thanks and your right I guess I am just stressing over what is probably a moot point since we seem not be going at the "peak" season.

I feel so rushed since now I can make my dining on Oct 27th and Southwest rates will be out on Oct 13th. Argh..all this obsesive planning is making me focus on the small things and we too will be getting the dining plan either way.
