The Everything Happens for a Reason TR--Last Trip as a WDW CM*ONE MORE SLEEP! pg 25

I'm sure that you can convince him to switch. It would save so much more money if you could. Your only in the room to sleep and that's it basically. I say go for POP dad and you wont be disappointed.:thumbsup2

Thanks!! We'll see when I decide to ask haha. We have a long weekend coming up next weekend so I'm thinking then hehe.

I definitely think free dining makes the most sense

I hope you can convince your dad :thumbsup2

We shall see, it will build some suspense!!

Hey Megan, followed you over from my TR. :wave2:

Yuck, that doesn't sound fun at all! When I was student teaching I had a horrible cough that lasted for about 3 weeks. Glad you are feeling better though!

Congrats on your teaching job. I love how you bribe them with Disney stuff. :thumbsup2

:welcome:

Thanks for reading! I think you followed me throughout my WDW CP/PI reports!! When I saw your post on another TR I had to find yours!!

HAPPY THURSDAY!

I hope everyone has had a great week so far! I watched 3 of my new kindergartners get off their bus today. The school does it odd, they take A-L on Thursday and then M-Z on Friday and then they all go together starting on Monday to get used to school. Many of my former kids will go tomorrow, so I'll be anxious to see how many mommys will cry!!

I thought since I had posted about the Disney lesson questions, that I would post some pictures. Due to child rights, I don't have pics of the kids but of the things I've planned!

This is for the kid's language arts center for tomorrow. My co-teacher does language arts when it's my lesson week and switches for hers. She will help fill in the blank "castle" and then create their own castle:

This is another language art activity. I plan on showing the kids the trip planning DVD and then see what they can recall from the video:

And last week, these are the fun things that came in the mail!!

No really WDW news for right now. I'm going to ask dad about Free Dining next weekend!!!!:cool1::thumbsup2

I've decided to not take the super expensive apt and just remain living with my Ddad who begged me to stay :lmao: I think he likes fed during the week since my mom is not here!! So I'm thinking with the money I'm saving that I will offer to help pay for the trip like the DDP upgrade or the park tickets.

More news!! Dbro might have a job opportunity in middle PA at a news station. He interned last semester with a Pittsburgh news station and his boss there tipped him off with this job so we shall see, the trip might go from 4 to 3!!!! Dbro is scheduled to start school next week so he has to start making choices. He also has an option of going to the Ohio college and doing the online classes and transfering credits to Penn State...I'll keep you updated!!!!

Other than that, that is it for now! I'll have more pics tomorrow of the little mickeys the kids create and what they would like to see at WDW and what they would pack!!!

For now here's a picture from Blast from the Past:

Me, Disneyland 1987 almost 2...notice my interest in Cinderella!

*HAVE GOOD FRIDAYS!!*

good luck on convincing your dad this weekend

That is great idea to offer to pay for some of the upgrade. How can he say no :rotfl:

love all the cute disney lesson plans you made for your students...such a cool teacher you are :wizard:

Just from reading this report it seems as though your family is SUPER close! Therefore, I am willing to bet your dad will go for whatever you think is the best idea!

Thanks!! I can't wait to see what they think of today! I was glad my boss didn't call me again today and tell me to come in at 12:30 because all of my plans would be ruined so I'm a happy camper so far!!:cool1:

Yes, we are close. He had a good point. If I saved 200 bucks a month for a year it's $5,000 that I can put towards and apt/apt goodies for when I apply for elementary teaching jobs next year. I'm sure he's delighted to have me and it's nice having someone around and nice to have alone time too. I mean I had up to 5 roommates down in FL so this is nothing haha :)

Love the Disney lesson ideas!

Thanks!! It's something fun that the kids can all relate to whether they have been at WDW before or not. They LOVED saying that they wanted to ride EVERY RIDE..maybe not haunted mansion haha:lmao:

I'll have an update about the day later today or tomorrow!!!

HAPPY SATURDAY DIS!!!

:I would just like to first of all say: IS ANYONE ELSE WATCHING THE SANTA CLAUSE ON TBS RIGHT NOW?! I guess it's on now and then again at 10!! I for one am very excited although it's about 75 degrees outside with sunshine but it's never too early to get ready for Christmas! :cool1:

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! I spent my day at the dentist, one filling they did it right away :thumbsup2 and cleaning :)

First of all I will start off with my school stuff from the past week!!

Disney Lesson Plan::teacher:

We made Mickey shaped heads from Play-Doh. I must say the kids were super duper excited about these! I put them in their own ziplock bag with the Play-Doh cup to take home. It was a pretty inexpensive project. I got 3 packs of Play-Doh for $1.50 each and a pack of sticks for 2 bucks.

004-1.jpg

We also watched the WDW Vacation Planning DVD (just the MK part). They were VERY excited about all the characters and who they would like to see:

007-1.jpg

When it came to what to pack, as you can see, some got it, others not so much lol...

008-1.jpg

After they played outside we all came in and watched Disney Sing-along song Disneyland and the first half of Peter Pan. I debated about showing them Full House: The house meets the mouse, but when asked who had seen the show, 1 of 13 had seen it so I scrubbed that idea!

I finally broke down and went to Books A Million and bought these:

010-1.jpg

I have a teacher discount card so I saved about 10 bucks which was nice!!:cool1: I also had the books for the kids to look through after snack times :)

If you have the 2009 Passporter, turn to the colored pages and the Fun with Animals section in the back, the girl with the funny looking spider is what I did for my internship at AK. Thats the kids club on the island across from It's Tough to be a Bug exit :) :thumbsup2:

DISNEY NEWS:
:woohoo:

As you can see with my title, "HELLO AGAIN TRIP A"..we might be revisiting trip A again (Dec 10-15):scared1:idea:

Long story short...Dbro has decided to do the online classes for the Ohio college in case he would get the job at the news station in Central PA. Dm called today and said well, with Dbro doing online classes we would be able to do trip A and Dbro will do homework or class as needed from the resort (Wilderness Lodge courtyard Bunkbed) :sad2:

Now, normally I would be thrilled as I wanted trip A over B but man, I put HOURS into planning things for trip B including Free Dining and CM discount, park days, ADRS, flights, etc. so I guess I'll go back again and revisit trip A and plan that. Dm says we will discuss everything next weekend during the long holiday weekend and hopefully have a decision made as Dbro begins his online classes this week. The good news is, is that I've been at my school for 3 months now and I get my 3 days paid vacation :thumbsup2: I'd like to put in the request asap as there can only be up to 2 teachers off at a time at the school and I can imagine Dec is a busy time!

TO CIRQUE OR NOT TO CIRQUE???

I typically read news from both Pittsburgh and Orlando via online sites and stumbled upon a traveling Cirque Du Solei show that is coming to Pittsburgh! :thumbsup2:

The show is called: Alegria. Has anyone ever seen it? The cheapest ticket is 45 bucks. I've see La Nouba twice and LOVE it but don't know if I will be disappointed with this show. It comes Oct 10 so I think it would be a great way to prepare for WDW!!!

Well I guess that is it for now. I'm off to grab my popcorn::, watch Santa Clause, and plan for trip A...just in case ;)

HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!!!!

Blast from the Past Picture:

Dad and I at Disneyland in Jan 1987

The Santa Clause was on TV?! That's crazy!

I have to say I totally remember watching that sing-along at Disneyland when I was younger. That was one of the best ones. :thumbsup2

Glad the kids enjoyed your disney lesson plan. The playdoh was a cute idea :goodvibes

My son and I watched the 2nd half of Santa Claus movie. He spent the whole time asking me...can I shake a snow globe and have him come see me whenver I want? How are the reindeer Flying? Are Elves nice? Can we go to North Pole and so on... I am about to pull my hair out :lmao:

But I love Christmas movies too :santa:

Hope you all can come to a decision soon on which trip you will be taking...:goodvibes

I'm glad that you may get the trip you originally preferred! It isn't so bad to have to re-plan...that's part of the fun of going at all!!! You know you love it!

Those videos are classic! We have them on old school VHS, btw, my kids did not know what a VHS was!!!

How cute!!!!! Sounds like things my kids would ask at school. They randomly asked me yesterday what a migraine was bc my co-teacher in the morning told them she had one :rotfl:

I'm in! Love the pictures of you as a child at DW!

Thanks!!! I wish video cameras were more popular when I was younger but we got our first when I was 5 so I guess they didn't miss too much!! My mom and dad are not huge camera people but my late gma was so I guess that skipped over my mom to me, thank goodness!!!:thumbsup2:

I  replanning!!! I'll update soon!! Dm was getting somewhat interested on the phone last night and I emailed her all of my attachments from park hours to ADR ideas to costs of everything including free dining and told her I put it into a binder and her response "and your teaching 4 yr olds why?!"

Next will be the must dos!!!

HI DIS, HAPPY SEPTEMBER!!!!

I felt in a red mood today so that is why I'm writing in red!

I thought I would take the time to update for I'm currently locked in my bedroom at my Ddads apt because his dell computer has decided to not work and he's currently yelling at some supervisor at Dell and being that my dad is an accountant and top businessman so well it's in my best interest to stay out of the way :scared1::eek::sad2::rolleyes1 In the meantime I thought, what a good time to update!!
..in a sad sad way I know what is is kinda going through seeing as my dell computer crashed twice in FL, and then after I bought a new one, well it crashed too (working fine now, knock on wood!!!) so for the time being, I will update and continue to hide!

DISNEY NEWS:

I know we can all say YAY FOR DECEMBER HOURS BEING OUT!!!!!!!!

I was lucky enough that all my planning from last years hours paid off because nothing changed!!! :thumbsup2

Dm was slightly excited last night when I told her of all my planning efforts and emailed them to her. Too bad the school she works at blocks attachments so she did not get them :( Oh well, they are in my binder which will go home for the weekend!!

Dbro has finally figured out school, thank goodness :cool1:
..when I last left off, he was 100% decided and registered for classes at the Pittsburgh school and might have a job opportunity in central PA. Well at the very last minute possible, Dbro, Dm, and Ddad decided that Dbro should pay the Ohio tuition and take online classes with the Ohio school in case he lands this job so he can continue to take classes and work. Well school started today for Dbro's masters degree and he has a class on Monday (just thread type class where he reads discussions), Tues night, and Wed night:cool1: meaning...
Trip A it might be!!!

You can see, it has been put back into my siggie!!!

Dm says we will make a final decision this weekend!!!:cool1:

My work has decided to lessen my hours this week since we don't have all our kids enrolled yet so as I'm being told that I will be losing 2 hours a day every day this week, I put in the little, "oh btw, My family and I are planning a trip the 2nd or 3rd week of Dec so I'll have to be off for 3 days so I hope that isn't a problem" and my boss said nope just put the request in!!!:cool1::thumbsup2

Today during the 2 1/2 hour naptime, I went through park by park and made my lists of "must do" and "maybe do" things!! In the coming weeks I'll be posting those!!!

Hopefully by Monday I can begin posting plans for trip A or B!!!

Side note:
..Does anyone know if Southwest has a cancel policy or refund policy?
I saw on Airtran you have to pay 75 bucks but didn't know if Southwest has one. I know that southwest doesn't charge to change a flight but I don't know if they charge to cancel. The reason being, we want to plan flights for Dm and Dbro from Pittsburgh and if Dbro would get the job and not be able to go we need to know what it would cost to cancel! :thumbsup2

Well that is it for now!! Ddad is done w/dell verdict: restore computer at Best Buy or through dell and his response "***** curse words x a zillion and I will never buy a dell, apple it will be":rotfl2::lmao:

Have a great rest of the week, hopefully when I post again, it will be good news!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Blast from the Past Picture:
Mom and I at Disneyland in 1987...from the pic you would not even tell she was 7 mos pregnant with Dbro!!

Hahaha your dad on the phone sounds like my dad on the phone when he gets mad! "I will NEVER, NEVER buy from you because you do NOT know how to treat your customers!!!!!!" Blah blah!

It must have been cool to be a CM! I would love to work for Disney doing PR or Guest Relations type things.

Sorry to hear about how sick you got during Kings Island time :( Glad you are feeling better, though. My brother just went with my dad, uncle, and cousin this past weekend!!

I'm a really big sports fan so just out of curiosity - what was your bro doing at Steelers camp? Sounds exciting! I also laughed when you said he slept with the TV on because I do the same thing!!!! Pathetic, I know!

Can't wait to hear more and see which trip you decide on!

I feel your and dad pain

Not sure who is worst..I hate Best buy and Dell :headache:

If you cancel with southwest, it goes into an account with them. You have one year form date of booking to use those credits :goodvibes

Oh wonderful!! Thanks so much!! I know they didn't have good times on SW for them (latest flight out to MCO is at 5 getting in at 10) but it has a great cancel policy and you'll save 75 bucks that you would use with Airtran!!

Thanks :)

:welcome:

Haha..yes his convo went on for about 3.5 hours and after all of it, they said he needs a new hard drive which is what I went through 3x already this year with them...I think it's their solution to anything!!!

They have an internship at WDW in guest relations! One of the girls I worked with at AK, her husband did the internship and was lucky to get PT with them after and is still hoping for FT. I would LOVE to do GR too but you get the good and the bad so ya haha.

At Steeler camp, my brother sat outside the locker room when there were fans on campus and inside when the fans are not around. When I worked when going to school there, I drove a golf cart around and took the players and coaches to and from the Cafe to the dorms :) :woohoo: Can't beat it and the money was great!

Thanks for reading!!!

Great updates! Guess what? I WATCHED THE SANTA CLAUSE!!!! It was awesome and got me really excited, as usual! Also your Disney lesson ideas are GREAT! I wish my DD had you as a Kindergarten Teacher! Although, when we went into school last week to meet her teacher, we saw that her student teacher had been to Disney World 12 times and worked there last year! I'm excited to get to know that lady!!!
