Obi's post about Continental and American now only allowing on checked bag at 23kg and charging for a second one got me thinking. It looks like most of the airlines are going this way - Aer Lingus introduced this policy in the summer and charge 40 Euro per second bag.
For those of you who've been thinking about getting an Owners Locker but not being able to justify the cost, I think now might be a good time to have another look at it. We left our OL stuffed full of things we only ever need in Florida and not having to cart that stuff back and forth across the Atlantic made a bid difference to our luggage allowance. I bet if you took all the "stuff" you regularly need over there and weighed it, you'd be surprised at how much of your now precious allowance it takes up.
It might be something to think about now that the airlines are charging extra
