Hi,

We're flying to Orlando with Virgin on 10th September with our granddaughter who will be 15 months of age. Can anyone tell me what the meals are like on board for someone of her age. The reason I ask is because she still wont take a lot of solids.

Any suggestions/help really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Lyndon :)

AFAIR they have some baby jars of food onboard, but you are better to take what you know she will eat with you at that age

Is she booked as an infant or child? If she booked as an infant and you are taking her on your laps then she can have a baby meal but it needs to be prebooked with Virgin Atlantic before you go otherwise they will not load one. On the outward journey the infant meal is cow & gate stage 1 jars. On the return it is Gerber jars (American equivialant).

A childs meal can be booked if she has her own seat and these are AFAIK things like chicken nuggets or pizza etc Childrens meals also need to be prebooked.

Our DD had the infant meal in March when she was 9 months old - it was ok for her then but I can't imagine it being enough for her now. This time she will be 15 months has her own seat and has a child meal booked.

we flew virgin last christmas with our then 7 month old, i had pre booked infant meals both way and it was a disaster - no food could be found on the outward journey and coming back they did give me a jar but made me feel very guilty saying i was taking the 1 emergency jar of food available! my advice is take your own.

on our flight out last week there was an infant i would say around 9 months old and the crew gave them about 7 jars of food before we landed so they could use them on holiday

this was Virgin Atlantic

When we flew in March I mentioned to the crew when they did the first drink run we had a baby meal booked. On the way out it was 4 jars. They came up and asked us which one we would like first and did we want it warmed :goodvibes

She ate 2 jars on the flight and they gave us the remaining ones to take with us.

On the way home she had a baby meal again but this time the cabin crew came up with more than just the jars she didn't eat on the flight and we brought loads home with us!
