There wasn’t much cheese on the menu, but there was plenty on stage. The Hoop de Doo Revue is a cheesy, corny vaudeville style stage show and we loved every minute of it. Especially after a few glasses of beer (pictured below). The show was a lot of fun and we were very pleasantly surprised by the food. We expected quantity, but I have to say the quality of the food is good too.

You start off with a salad. It was pre-made and it was delicious.

And cornbread – also delicious

Drinks are included here, so here’s DW’s sangria
0821122.jpg

And my beer. Our waitress was smart and just left me the pitcher.

On to the main course – fried chicken, ribs, beans, mashed potatoes. We also requested mac & cheese for DD’s, especially Ariel who wouldn’t particularly like the food at HDD.

Dessert is strawberry shortcake.

The girls got into the act too.

Overall, we were all pleasantly surprised with both the food and the show and we had a blast.

I gave it a 4.5 and we’ll definitely be back.
DW gave it a 5.
Mrs. Potts gave it a 5 too
Total score 14.5/15 – the top score so far

Without DxDDP it would have cost $218.95

When did you go to Tutto Italia? Was it on Tuesday the 18th? We went on the 19th and they must of got more mozzarella sticks in. Both of my kids ordered them.
Great reviews you went to a alot of TS that we went to. I was hoping to spot your girls so I could of said hello. Are you still there? We came back last night.

Thanks again for the reviews :thumbsup2

You're right, we were there on the 18th. That's funny. We flew home on Sunday. I miss Disney, but I am actually happy to take a break from all of that food. :rotfl:

:lmao: We came home late last night. We skipped breakfast because we had nothing to eat here I was too lazy to get any breakfast so we had lunch around 11:30.

Just giving a shout out to let you know how much I enjoyed your reviews!!

How was the lobster at Narcoosee's?

Thanks. DW had the lobster and said it was really good. Lobster is not my thing, but I have to say that the Tuna was fantastic.

Where do you get the carbonated frozen drinks in MK - they look great!!

We got them at the snack bar between Dumbo and Ariel's grotto, I think it's called Scuttle's Landing. They were pretty good - I must admit I had a few sips. One DD couldn't decide between the flavors, so the CM made her a parfait style mix.

Ohana's breakfast looks really good. Hmm, maybe I should add as our last day breakfast.

But the good news is I'm only up 8 pounds as of this morning, so that's progress.:rotfl2:

Thanks for your patience, I've been swamped since we got back to NY, but I will try to get some more reviews up this weekend.

I was looking forward to breakfast at Kona for a while now. I had heard great things about Tonga Toast and I needed to try it. I was also looking forward to a non-buffet, non-character breakfast. I have to say Kona Café did not disappoint. Kona Café is located in the Polynesian Resort right next to ‘Ohana. We had a 7:45 am ADR, but we arrived at 7:58. We checked in and the place was empty, but they gave us a buzzer anyway; it promptly buzzed and we were seated by 8. Our server was Teresa from the Dominican Republic and she was excellent. Now let’s get to the meal

First, a little coffee from the Pressed Pot

I had the Tonga Toast (banana stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with Strawberry Compote) and opted for sausage. It was just as good as everyone says. Though I did not find it too sweet to eat, in fact I thought the strawberry sauce added just enough tartness to balance it out. I managed to eat the whole thing. :rotfl:

DW had the Big Kahuna - French toast, Macadamia-Pineapple pancakes, eggs, home fried potatoes, ham, bacon, and sausage. She got the pineapple and macadamia nut butter on the side.

0822007.jpg

Mrs. Potts had the fruit plate
0822003.jpg

Ariel had Donald's Choice - One egg, quacked and scrambled, with sweet cinnamon toast
0822004.jpg

Aurora had Minnie's French Toast - rolled in cinnamon sugar
0822002.jpg

For a couple of days both DDs proclaimed that this was their favorite breakfast – this was over all of the character meals. Although the food was good, I think it was because the meals were named after the characters. If I only knew this trick earlier, we probably could have gotten them to eat more at the other meals.

We even got a big bottle of water with our left over drink credits.

I gave Kona Café 4 stars
DW gave it 3.5
Mrs. Potts gave it 4 stars.
For those of you keeping score at home, that’s 11.5/15
Without DxDDP it would have cost us $67.35

That fruit plate looks awesome. Did it come with the bread or was that separate?? I might get that next time...

MMMM Kona Breakfast looks great. I wish we did not cancel it the night before. I had planned to go on the 20th while the boys were on their tour but decided to cancel so we could sleep in.

I have just scheduled Kona for our next trip. DH didn't know what to think until I showed him your pictures. Thank you for the pictures, the fruit plate looks awesome

Kona is a fantastic breakfast, I am addicted to that pressed pot coffee and I agree with your about the strawberry sauce, it adds just enough tartness and makes the tonga toast even yummier!

DH and I are huge fruit eaters and normally we order a fruit cup..one time DH ordered the fruit plate and I could not believe how much you get! We wound up taking it back to our room for a snack later that day...all the fruit was so good!

It was really good. Mrs. Potts said it was the second best breakfast food next to the yogurt platter at CRT. It came with the banana bread and the 1/2 banana shown on the side of the plate.

That Kona breakfast looks sooooooooo good! I may have to squeeze that in somehow...

Go for it. It's good food and a lot more relaxed than some of the other meals.

Too bad. It was really good. It doesn't seem to busy there, maybe you can squeeze in a late breakfast.

You're welcome. Enjoy!

I totally agree.

Is it just me but even the bottle of water looks great at Kona !!! Looks nice and icy cold !!:)

:rotfl2: It was good water. I even got in trouble with DDs when I took the last sip.
