Hello,

I know again it is personal recommendation but because there is eight of us we would probably mainly do buffet evening meal on the free dining.

Any suggestions of good restaurant please (either character or non)

Thanks :goodvibes

we had dinner at crystal palace last night and it was lovely, loads of food to choose from and all really hot which was good. It has winnie the pooh, tigger, piglet and eeyore

Our favourite dinner buffet is Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The food is really good, lots of variety, the servers are excellent clearing plates quickly and topping up drinks. Plus afterwards you can go out onto the savannah overlooks and see the animals. If it is dark you can go and use the night vision goggles which is really cool.

babies are having fun!!! casuing mummy lots of pain with kicking and frequent trips to the restrooms!!!! They will love it even more next year!!!

Chef mickeys is a fav of ours as well

Not buffet but a really good counter service is wolfgang puck express at DTD went there for lunch yesterday and we shared a meal as the pizza was huge

We ate at:
Boma - food was good, especially the desserts! Night vision goggles are awesome!

Chef Mickeys - food good and some great character interaction.

Crystal Palace - food good again, but doesn't take much to please us and great character interaction.

Counter Service - Wolfgang Puck Express - do you mean you used a free dining "quick service meal" here or is this something different?

yes we have the regualr plan so have 1 table, 1 counter service and 1 snack a day

Yesterday we used a counter service for our Wolfgang puc express lunch, was fantastic value, it would have cost us over $20 just for one meal but we shared it

That is good value, and only have to use one of your credits !

i can see us struggling to use all the credits and we are only on day 2!!!!!

we have used 1 snack since we have been here, 2 table service and 3 counter service and we are finding it alot of food! Loving it though as it means I can eat what and when I want in theory!!! great to be pregnant!!

Have you used any of those for breakfast? Or are you missing breakfast and having lunch and dinner??

i used a snack for breakfast and paid for DH omlete he had, dont want to waste the credits on cheaper food really, we have a couple of character breakfast booked which will use a ts each as well

I dont think we will come again without the dining plan though, already we have saved ourselves around $130 on the meals we have had and if we were not on it I doubt we wold have eaten at the places we have

I am keeping all receipts so I can see how much we have spent the enitre 15 days on food, I think all in all we have spent around $100 since we got here thursday afternoon and that was with a $35 spend in walmart or bits and bobs for babies so I dont think we have spent to much at all

orangetiggs, pls pls pls, if you get to WPE for bfast could you take a picture of the menu??
we are interested in going for bfast for a change from SSR- but there is little info on their bfast menu, the cornflake french toast intrigues me;)
hope you and the babies are enjoying their 1st trip to WDW...

If you are looking for intersesting food i too would recommend boma, whilst we love CM, food is not brill...
We also love CP, IMHO best character /food, and its convenient inside MK.

We really enojoyed Biergarten last year in the Germany pavillion in Epcot.

Also we love Ohanas, although not strictly buffet as they bring the food to you family style on huge meat skewers - you get 3 courses and soft drinks included.

Have a look on www.allears.net for all the resturant menus and some reviews :thumbsup2

Trails end at fort wilderness is great for a buffet. Prime rib salmon shrimp chilli salads pizzas....really yummy food

Listened to a review of Diamond Horseshoe Revue in Frontierland.

Here is a note from wdwinfo menu

Entree/Main Course

Ranchhand's Feast - Tossed Mixed Greens with Strawberry Viaigrette, Roasted Turkey Breast, carved Beef and Smoked Pork Loin with Mashed Potatoes, seasoned vegetables, Herb Bread Stuffing and Macaroni and Cheese. Apple Cobbler with Ice Cream. Beverages included are Cola-cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, Minute Maid Light Lemonade. Fresh Brewed Coffee, Fresh Brewed Iced Tea, 1% lowfat or Chocolate milk. - $29.99

We went to Garden Grill at Epcot which isn't buffet but it is served "family style" we got a good selection of meats and veggies with as much as you could eat refills. The character interaction was excellent with the characters coming round at least three times, the characters were Mickey, Pluto and my favs Chip n Dale :cool1: and the restaurant revolves which was kind of cool!

We did the Oktoberfest in Germany on our recent trip and I was very impressed and will be doing this again next trip. The food was plentiful and delicious with lots of healthy items on the salad bar and the hot food and puddings were lovely too. Oh, and the beer was very good my DH tells me!
