Buying fastpass tickets in advance

Has anyone ever bought fastpass tickets in advance of their trip? Is there much of an advantage if you do?

I would not buy these, many of them have actually been stolen and they do add to the overall queues of the park. They are evil and I discourage everyone from buying them.

We were given two of these last week as on our last day my DD2's park ticket refused to work in the Studios (we'd only just left the main park where we had no problem at all) - the CM was concerned that she would have problems getting Fast Passes and gave us each one.
As for an advantage, it really depends what time of year you are going, maybe during the summer months when the queues can be really long they may do.

Just a quick note about buying FastPass tickets on eBay. I purchased five of these in July for my trip last week. However, when I got to the park, the FastPass tickets did not work. Not sure if the problem was the delay in time between getting the tickets and using them (five or six weeks), but the tickets were totally useless. The lesson cost me about 10 euros...

Had a great trip, nonetheless, and thanks to all here for the help in planning!

i think that these are probably being sold on ebay by an unscrupulous CM. if what you said is universally true, then DLP may have implemented a way to stop this batch of tickets being used.

which, in the big scheme of things, is a good thing.

Hi
This was my 4 year olds favourite ride and we were able to get 3 FP's at a time for this ride which meant we could ride and run round 3 times in half an hour, whilst also having spare FP's to fast pass Peter Pan and BUzz for in the evening. Millmolly

can i ask in buying these are you cheating others out of legitimate fast passes?

it doesn't take a genius to realise that people abusing the fastpass system merely compounds this problem. i think it's fair to say that DLP have tried to get this system working as fairly as possible (restricting guests to one FP at a time etc.). how is it fair that you were able to ride BTM 3 times in 30 mins. when some guests have to wait 70 mins. for a single turn?

And that is where I have a problem with "Extra" fastpasses.

When we where away in April, hubby went at ropedrop to get 2 fastpasses from BTM. The queue to get fastpasses was 10 mins (as people were getting pass after pass) by the time it was his turn, the time on the pass was for 12.40:eek:

I know that some people have legitimate extra passes, and yes, none of us like to queue excessively, especially with little ones, but it does start to become a joke.

I hope they have. It's about time. At WDW you can only get a fastpass with a ticket that has been used to enter the park that day with, so a much fairer system.

I am not going to criticise people who buy these fastpasses ~ at the end of the day it is their money and their conscience ;) but personally I refuse to reward someone for something that must have been dishonestly obtained.

We've been three times now in August and find we manage perfectly fine between our fastpass obtained with our park ticket and EMH. Sometimes I think mention of these Ebay fastpasses on forums panics people into thinking they need to buy them. :sad2: :sad2:

yes i agree with you there. i think people who havent been before think they wont manage to get on the rides without them.

as my previous question has been answered i think they are a terrible idea now. totally not fair to other people and i could not in good conscience use them either.
