Orlando for Adults

There are understandably a lot of families with children travelling to Orlando, but I thought it may be nice to have a thread for people without children who make the trip!

My partner and I will be making our second trip as a couple (his second trip, my tenth!) next year and are looking for suggestions for adults things to do. We so far have really enjoyed trying a number of different cocktails in various restaurants but haven't really sampled the nightlife beyond that - any suggestions for us?

Feel free to join in, even if you do have children - parents need downtime too :goodvibes

Universals City Walk is a great place to go clubbing, plus there are some nightclubs in orlando itself

DH & I before DD used to enjoy a late night game of mini golf or a nice drink in the hotel bar.

We were never into clubbing and DTD was about as far as we went.

TBH we really enjoy the parks late at night and nothing beats sitting eating an ice cream after Wishes and then enjoying MK till the early hours!

Me and the bf travel as a couple, we're in our mid twenties and not really into clubs and the like but I would quite like to try Jellyrolls this year. Loved The Adventurers Club the one time we went but obviously that's no more :sad1: Normally we're in the parks til fairly late but DTD has a good 'vibe' in the evening too, we like to get cones from Ghirardellis and people watch :)

Me and DF also travel as a couple, while we don't go clubs, we enjoy a drink or two with evening meals and in the bars. We love to people watch too, last year we went to the cinema in DTD (more for a rest then anything :lmao:).

Looking forward to trying a couple of the cocktails in the Rix Cafe this year :goodvibes

You are at CSR aren't you? If so sitting out at Laguna bar looking over the lake is a great spot for a nice relaxing drink :goodvibes:

Ohh really interested in this thread! I'll be 22, and BF 24 when we go next year and quite interested to find some stuff to fill our evenings!

Hi everyone :hippie:

My husband and I have been to disney twice now and are taking our 3rd trip this december. I'd love to share hints n tips with other couples and get some new ideas of things to do!

We are cocktail hounds so we're looking forward to sampling more delights :yay:

This will be DH and I 3rd trip as a couple but our first also in Dec. Like most of you have said we love to stay in the parks till the early hours after some chocolate covered strawberries

DH and I like to do a different tour each time we visit a Disney park, so far we have loved every one we have taken. We especially like the segway tours (we have done the World Showcase and the one at Californian Adventure and we are doing the off road one next trip.)

We also like spending time around the Boardwalk on an evening, the restaurants in that area (and over at the YC/BC) are really nice, plus it is fun to watch the entertainers out there.

Over at AKL we like to have a drink after dinner then go out onto the savannah viewing areas (you can sit and have a drink in one of the rocking chairs) and then go and have a look at the animals with the night vision goggles.

Also the spas are nice if you want to treat yourself to a massage. We used the one at Saratoga Springs. If you book in for a treatment you can use the jacuzzi, sauna, steam room there too.

ok, i have kids but im suprised no one has mentioned victoria and alberts. we had to cancel our visit last year, but hope to booking into the chefs table for next years trip. It is the fine dining experience in Orlando, has very exclusive menu (and prices) and would be an ideal "date night" for anyone. have a lok at the restaurant boards for some ideas on menus. it will be our 1 night without the kids, childcare for 3 (one with asd) is not cheap, so it better be worth all the hype!!1)
dh is doing the wine pairng, so the next day will be a quiet pool day, :rotfl2:

Me and DBF (both 25) travelled there last April as a couple and we loved it.

We'd spend most evenings in the parks, as we're not both big into clubbing either. We spent one evening with a later reservation at Le Cellier (Epcot) and enjoyed a lovely meal and a drink and then strolled out and watched Illuminations from the Canadian pavilion. One of the best evening memories of our trip.

We also spent time by the All Star Sports pool bar after park closing and sampled some of their great cocktails and beers. I loved the Poolside Lemonade! :lovestruc

Another evening one for us was heading down to DTD and having a stroll around and people watching. We did a little shopping, grabbed a bite to eat and just took in the great evening atmosphere down there.

There's loads more too...but they're my main favourite ones :)

Edited to add...that we both loved the Animation Academy at DHS! It was good fun to see who's drawing turned out for the best! Great free keepsakes of your trip too! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the suggestions!

We don't do Disney, just Universal, so we will stick to I-Drive/City Walk most likely. Haven't been to Howl at the Moon but it looks good - is there a cover charge?

Our favourite haunt was TGIs last year - great cocktails for me, cold beer for the boyfriend, a great selection of songs on the jukebox and a decent bartender :thumbsup2

not sure about a cover charge, on New years eve there was, we paid a fixed price to get in and all drinks were included, as a result we never saw midnight, had to take DW home, luckily it was only 100 yards to the homewood suites.
I dont think there is charge on normal nights, but if there is it will only be a few dollars.
Another good night is Pat O Briens at city walk, more duelling pianos, lots of requests, good fun..

hi folks, first poster, mitch from fishguard. we like just doing what we want ,when we want, as we have done the family trips and its nice not to worry about who likes what and what order to do them in the interests of fairness.!!!!!!!!. we love strolling around disney, enjoying being "not in work"
