we are travelling on the VS015, 1pm gatwick to orlando. will we get lunch or dinner, i'm guessing its most likely to be dinner. just wanted to know so i know whether to feed kids lunch at airport or not.

normally get food around 1.5 hours in so it may well be a late lunch

have no idea I', afriad but I want to ask a similar question:thumbsup2

For the late departing flight out of MCO to LGW (I think its 7.40pm) is there a full dinner service?

My poor kids will be starving by then, I dont think they could wait for that.

its kind of the same meal no matter what flight we have been on

salad type thing for starter
beef or chicken main meal (or a vege option)
roll, chese and crackers
dessert

On the VS15 you will get a late lunch and going on the state of the food last time we will be having an early lunch at the airport! You then get a sandwich before landing.

On the way back dinner will be served but they have stopped the drinks run first in Economy apparently on the later flights. Something they call breakfast will be served before landing.

heavens sake!
if you want cordon bleu food then stay on the ground and eat in a restaruant with a proper kitchen, but don't expect their flight to be any good
ITS A FORM OF TRANSPORT! not a cafe in the sky!

What is it with people and their constant carping on about airline food?

I try not to eat the food - better off grabbing something from M&S at the airport and eating that when it suits you on the flight! I am not a fan of airplan food! yuk

oh take a chill pill Obi - some of us with our littlies want to know if its worth settling them down for a big meal before we fly or wait to see if these flights have full meal service. Having been on these flights that are middle of regular meal times it varies airline to airline what sort of food service there will be due to the time. Even as a frequent flyer there are still some questions I want answered.

Its not about QUALITY of the meal - its about it being a full meal or a snack.

you dont like it - tiddle off to another thread and be "helpful".

People are allowed their opinion, why should they not be allowed to post it? Was there any need to shout?

thanks. i'm one of those people who don't mind airline food. in fact i've quite enjoyed it in the past. however i will be stocking up on pastries on the flight home to have for breakfast, no way am i touching those egg sandwiches; yuk.

Yes there was Kevin.
People carp on and on about the quality of food on aircraft, as if its the b all and and all of the £300 they have paid for their seat.

If you want better food then get your wallet out and pay for it. If not either eat it or don't.

Yes people are entitled to their opinion and guess what? I'm also entitled to my opinion, or do you believe its a one way street?

Please read the original post I was replying to Islandmum. It was all about the OP comments about the quality of the food, not what was served or when.
My response was to that.

apologies then for misunderstanding your post was only in reference to the pp.

But at the same time that pp was trying to be helpful and courteous - a nicer worded post by yourself would have been much better received - or dont post at all if you really find it annoying.

we were on this flight 3 weeks ago and there was a beef stew and pots with bread roll and choc cake. myself i dont really like eating whilst flying but the wife enjoyed. sorry not sure about the childrens meals as we all had adults meals. we did have a lovely breakfast at the weatherspoons at gatwick after checking in. good quick service. also loads of shops after checking in so dont worry if you are early, plenty to see/do/drink before youre flight. coming back we had a breakfast on the plane which i tried but didnt like (again wife ate it).
happy hols
please see my thread titled SEAWORLD PLEASE HELP if you are planning on visiting seaworld

Well as this was aimed at me i feel the need to reply! There was no need to shout and I was not 'carping on'.

I am well aware of the limitations for airline food and I am normally one of the ones that eats it no problem however this year and our flight home last year I couldn't eat any of the main served to me. Virgin have started choosing some strange choices for their PE food and even my very unpicky DH didn't eat on the return this year.

I don't understand why the decline in standard thats all.

We will eat at LGW before the flight out and take sandwiches (from Earl of Sandwich :cloud9:) for the flight home.

Mind you I am not actual sure you can comment on the food seeing as you always fly upper :rolleyes1

So, because that you had one meal which you felt was not up to your standard, the sarky comments about the food appear in your original posting then?

Do you think that they do not serve food in Upper Class then?

Really? I am surprised that YOU missed that Islandmum. Your postings on other threads always seem so "helpful" and miss nothing normally. :rolleyes1

oh Obi, you're too sensitive, you were pretty rude to the poster and you're getting a little rubbing .... its hardly duelling at dawn.

Use the force Obi, and meditate, its good for the Chi
