We had breakfast in Mara this morning cost $28. John and I had a cooked meal, scramble eggs, sausage, bacon, the kids had cereal and muffins. Very hot and sunny again, the plan was Winter/Summerland golf, Ashley had wanted to do this last trip but we never got around to it.
Here's a few photos including John and Ashley claiming the highest score of the day, one on each course.

We had an ice cream while waiting for certificates to be printed out with their names and scores on. We were given a load of golf balls and some marker pens (John was pleased, he plays a lot of golf and they will come in handy).

Caught the bus back to AKL pool for an hour before getting cleaned up to catch a taxi to Seaworld ($31 including tip). Arrived about 4.30, sorted out the tickets for free 2nd visit, went and checked in for Dine with Shamu and made our way to Manta - 80 minute wait. Had a look at the dolphins feeding area and some of the other animals before making our way over to Dine with Shamu.

Have read other reports about feeling rushed at this meal, while we didn't feel rushed, wasn't keen on the server leaving us a plate 'to leave the tip on' were his words! Over the loud speaker we were asked to leave as the restaurant was closing. We could see the theatre filling up for Shamu Rock at 8pm so we were going to leave soon anyway, the plan for coming in the evening was to see this. We had had a brief rain shower while eating so had to be careful heading over to the theatre with the ground being wet. Even after all that food and drink we still bought an ice lolly as it was so hot and we were feeling thirsty. It was great fun waiting for the show to begin, the camera was focusing on members of the audience and some of them really played up to the camera, it was really funny.

After the show went to have a look at Manta again, still 80 minutes. We left if for another day and went on Journey to Atlantis and got soaked, which was lovely and cooling although didn't know what the taxi driver would say to taking 4 dripping passengers home! Walked over to Bayside stadium to see the firework show and then home. The roads were really, really busy people seemed to be heading to DTD but we'd had enough and ready to call it a day.

I can't believe (no pun intended) that people are that close to that dolphin and not even looking at it.

The golf course looked really well themed - might have to pop in and check it out on our way home next time :thumbsup2.

I was also pleased you posted some pics of Dine with Shamu. We have this booked for October so it was good to see the sort of things they will be serving up.

I think the trainer was instructing them in how to behave when feeding the dolphins so were otherwise distracted but we had a brilliant view of their amusing behaviour.

The food at Dine With Shamu looks really good! Also, the golf looks fun- might have to try it when I'm there (soon! :)).

Another great day. Glad you liked the Dine with Shamu

At first glance I thought the dolphin was lying on the wall! It certainly looks odd for the dolphin to be that close and no-one looking at him/her

He is lying on the wall, he stayed there for a few seconds.

We did Dine With Shamu at Easter and thoroughly enjoyed it-i know some say it's just a one off experience that they would'nt do again, but i can honestly say we all can't wait to do it again.x.

What a fun day ~ we loved playing mini golf last trip.

Dine with Shamu looks great. :thumbsup2

I should not have looked at this thread on an empty stomach - that food, especially the desserts, really look soooo yummy!

A big congratulations to John and Ashley on being top score of the day on the mini golf courses! I guess those golf lessons are really paying off(at least the putting part)...lol.

Great photos of food Yummy :goodvibes
hope you get to try out Manta on another day when the wait time is not quite so long.

Dine with Shamu looks really good - must put on the list to try sometime. We also have never seen the Sea World fireworks - are they worth staying till the end of the day to watch?

To be honest - no. If you are there fair enough but its no where near as good as Disneys.

I love Seaworld! Dine with Shamu is fab, I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I am a picky eater & didn't eat much....worth the cost just to get that close to the killer whales.

Great pics.

Sounds like another great day. :)

I think we have seen the Sea World fireworks from a distance a couple of times when we have stayed on I Drive. :)

we had a great time at dine with shamu, lovely day :goodvibes
