Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

I'm glad you made it safely to WDW - what a terrible thing to have witnessed on your way to the Happiest Place on Earth! I sat here with tears going down my face feeling so sad for that girl and what her family is going through. How lucky the passenger escaped with his life but how sad it must be for him. You and your family definitely were protected from being injured!

Hope the rest of your vacation had happier moments!

Okay, finally all caught up! Wow I missed a lot.

I was laughing my butt off about the McDonald's story!! :rotfl:

I'm so sorry you had to witness such a terrible accident on your way to Disney. Thank goodness Hunter didn't see it. I am so sad for that family.

Great pictures! :goodvibes Love the arch pictures! I can't wait to hear about the big reveal!! :yay:

I forgot to mention- that McDonald's story made me laugh REALLY hard!!!!! :lmao: It wasn't so much Shontrell, but the fact that you brought it back up later. :rotfl2:

Okay 9 pages later and I'm all caught up! I've been working a lot of overtime to pay for our trip in Dec. (3 more weeks and we're paid off!)

I am so sorry about the accident. What a horrible way to start your vacation. I nearly cried just reading about it. I said a prayer for the passenger and the family of the driver.

I can't wait for the next installment of the big reveal! Our kids are going to be surprised too, but we're telling them as they get dressed to leave for the airport!

Okay its my one day off this week so I guess I better go get some laundry done and head to the bank.

That's awful! I'm sorry you had to see that. Many prayers for that family.

Every time I think of it, I get all teary eyed and sick to my stomach. I always think...That could have been us. Movin' on!

I can hardly wait to hear how Lacey and Hunter react!

Those signs look so inviting! These last 26 days are going to take SO long...

Lisa, again, thanks for sharing. I really look forward to your trip reports. You are one of my favorites on disboards!
:worship::worship::worship:

Thanks so much for the compliment. I love writing my reports. Not only does it let me relive the trip but I also get to meet new friends.

I know what you mean about the waitin' taking so very long. I hated counting down the days.

Oooh the Arch, the Arch! I am SOOOO hoping that my kids really don't realize until that point!

What a welcome sight after what you just went through.

Can't wait to hear their reactions!

I was, indeed, a welcome sight to see the Disney World signs. Believe me, they couldn't have come at a better time.

Just wanted to add my  for what you witnessed. We came upon an accident on our Disney trip last year. Thank the Lord above (And I was doing just that!) that nobody was injured.

Thanks for the hugs. It was truly a sad start to the day.

Lisa, I am so glad I found your new report :thumbsup2. I have been MIA for the past few days. I hate to hear about the wreck. I am always so stressed about the drive down and back home, that is the one thing I dread soooooo much.

I am, again, loving your TR :thumbsup2. I am 33 days and 11 hours out :woohoo:. This will be our first long trip without, at least, one of the big kids. We have taken the shorter trips without them so this will also be an adventure for me.

Looking forward to the next post :surfweb:.

I usually don't worry too much about driving. We go on road trips all the time. After seeing that wreck, we begged Lacey to just let us fly her back to Georgia from Orlando. She could get her Jeep (which was at our house) back when she comes home for Thanksgiving. We even offered to drive her to Georgia from Florida and then we'd come back to Louisiana. She was having nothing of it.

It's hard to take that first trip without one of your kids. During our first trip without Lacey, we called her every day so she'd know what we were doing. I don't know if that helped or hurt. But, I just felt like she needed to hear some of the Disney sounds.

I bet you are about to burst with excitement. Just over a month and you'll be in Disney again!

I am so sorry that you guys had to witness such a horrific tragedy.

That aside, it seems like your trip is off to a good start. I am looking forward to reading more.:thumbsup2

Wtih the exception of the wreck, we were having a fantastic road trip.

Hey Lisa, I was missing this afternoon. I just read your last two reports. How sad for that family and for you guys to witness it. I am glad Hunter did not see. There are some things you just want to protect your children from. Hugs to your family for having to witness that incident. The world continues to spin and all you can do is what you did. Pray for that family and be sorrowful. Then pick yourself up because there is nothing more you could do.

I so love that arch. I can't wait till Hunter and Lacey find out about the resort change. You are very close.

I see Jay has signed in. I can see where you two would get along. She is very detail oriented.

Have a great evening.

Ginny

I'm glad that Hunter didn't see it. It was bad enough for us adults but it's hard for a child to deal with something like that.

I've read a lot of posts about people who use a GSP not getting to see the archway. Somehow, it takes them around it. I'd just be beside myself if I didn't see it.

Cartwheels:thumbsup2!!!
you and your family has been truly been blessed with one another...
I love the games and the fart sound machine too funny...

Lisa, I am so sorry that ya'll had to see such a terrible tragedy! I am so happy that ya'll were able to keep Hunter occupied from the whole situation. and HE protected ya'll from the situations!! If you remember I made the comment on my report I hate interstate travel; well, that is why, one of my greatest fears. But, mine has more to do with trucks that have tire shreds.

We do not have one of those 20 question games but we have all played they are so much fun. Every year for Christmas I say I'm going to get them as stocking stuffers think I will have to get at least one this year!!!

I'm got so excited when I seen the signs you would think I was in the car with ya'll (well in spirit, right). I can't wait to start planning our next one!!! Looking forward to more... and how Hunter & Lacey reacted with the resort surprise!!!!

have a great day , tomorrow!!!!
P.S. you should get your envelope around Tue or Wed!!! and Ashton says "Thank you so very much!!!"

John has a fear of 18 wheeler blowouts. He's constantly on the lookout.

You have to get a fart noise maker and a 20 questions game. I got them both at WalMart. The fart noise maker was just $3.00 and the 20 questions game was just $5.00. They were well worth their cost because they provided a lot of laughs and entertainment.

Great report! I'm so sorry you had such a scary thing happen on your trip! I have to admit that I'm a bit nervous about that kind of thing as we're driving instead of flying next year to save some $$$ (five people just get too expensive to ticket!).

We're staying at CBR next June, so I'm excited to see more of your pictures (I have already checked many of them out on the CBR pictures thread)! Can't wait for more!

We always drive to Disney because airfare can get really expensive just like you said.

Have you ever stayed at the CBR before? If not, I'm sure you are going to love it.

Lisa,
I'm so glad you and your family are alright after that horrible tragedy. Mom's always quite worried about that kind of thing when we travel. My prayers are with that family. But I hope you were able to have some fun at disney anyway. I can't wait to read more.popcorn::

Us Mom's can't help but worry that something like that will happen while our kids are on the road. I made Lacey call me every hour during her drive back to Georgia.

Great Update Lisa! So sorry that you & your family had to see such a horrible accident. (((HUGS))) Hope you were able to put it behind you & have some fun in Disney!!!! Can't wait to hear about the reveal!!! However, I prob will have some catching up to do later in the week since I'm leaving for vacation in NC tomorrow morning!! Won't be back till Thursday. Have a great week!

BTW, today we washed the car before our road trip!!! :rotfl: I thought you would appreciate that!

Have a great time in NC. You can catch up when you get back.

Well, of course, you washed the car before the road trip. What kinda person would you be if you didn't.

Ohhh the reveal! I can hardly wait!!! There is going to be another "pee-my-pants" moment - I can feel it!

Kudos to Lacey for keeping Hunter occupied as you drove by the accident. Hugs all around!:grouphug:

I hope to post the reveal this afternoon. Ya'll know I can't get any work real Dis work done at home. I need to do it while at work.

You can tell that Lacey works with kids a lot. She is pretty intuitive to their needs.

I don't know how I get so far behind, but I always do! 7 pages to read!!!
The report is goinggreat. Sorry about witnessing the accident. I wittnessed two accidents and in one the guy was alive at the scene, but I knew he wouldn't be much good if he lived. I heard later on the news he didn;t make it. the other one, I just saw, and I was not in my home town. I was wokring driving a delivery van and I can't remember if I ever heard the outcome on that one.
My older kids used to have a 20 question game too. I could never figure out how that dang thing could figure out what we were thinking! LOL!
Yay! you are there. Take your time posting...LOL! I am so behind on all my readings.

On a side note, I did find two great and legitimate ways to make some cash online. Not great money, but I have made about $300 in a months time. It can be time consuming though. But I want to pay off some stuff and then eventually save some!

Oooh Jen, you need to p.m. me your secret way of making cash. You know I can always use it.

So sorry to hear about the horrific accident that you witnessed. At least Hunter didn't have to see it. :grouphug:
Love seeing all of the WDW signs, reminds me that I should take more pictures of them on the next trip.
Can't wait to hear all about the big reveal! :ssst:

I wanted to take more pictures but that's all I was able to snap.

What an awful thing to witness. I'm so sorry to hear that! I would have been so shaken up and unable to drive!!!

Love the pictures on world drive. I always wanted to get pictures of those but I live in CT...the drive would just kill me, all down 95 (aka the worst highway...)..

Can't wait to hear more about your stay!

How long of a drive would it be from CT?

Sorry you had to see that accident- that is a traumatic thing to witness.

I would think it was out of my mind but then I'd replay it again and get all teary eyed. It was just that bad.

Lisa. I'm sorry you had to witness the accident. I'm teary-eyed now, just thinking about that. The poor family who lost their loved one. The poor passenger who had to witness that first hand and live with the questions of how he survived and she didn't. Okay, I can't think about it anymore. The Lord certainly blessed Hunter by not allowing his eyes to witness that.

I'm loving the TR so far, other than that. I'm sure it kind of hampered that excited feeling upon arrival, though. Maybe just a little.

Looking forward to hearing more! It's no surprise that your daughter is just as fun as the rest of you!

I don't know how the in the world the passenger was able to get out of the car. He hopped out while it was still spinning. I guess he was so full of adrenaline. I don't know. I know that HE was looking out for us. It sure as heck wasn't that lucky penny I found in the Jameson Inn parking lot.;)

Okay, finally all caught up! Wow I missed a lot.

I was laughing my butt off about the McDonald's story!! :rotfl:

Yes, the McDonald's story was too funny. Shontrell was a hoot but the lady who called Shontrell a **** was even funnier.

I forgot to mention- that McDonald's story made me laugh REALLY hard!!!!! :lmao: It wasn't so much Shontrell, but the fact that you brought it back up later. :rotfl2:

John kept telling me that my little chicken nugget happy meal was going to make me sick because I didn't pay for it. I told him no it wasn't because I told Shontrell numerous time what I wanted to order. And, it wasn't my fault Shontrell was a *****.:rotfl:

Good morning Lisa. Hope your weekend was a good one. Busy Monday here and I'm sure for you too. Have a good one.

Doesn't it make you feel good when you get to the point to where you know you've almost got the trip paid for! I just love that feeling.

I've said so many prayers over the passenger, the driver and their families. Too many to count. It never hurts to add another one. I am sure they can use it.

I'm hoping to get the big reveal installment posted a little later in the day.

Laundry! Yuck!:headache:

I started not to post the wreck in my trip report at all but it was part of the trip. I felt like I needed to acknowledge the fact that the Lord had truly been with us while we were traveling.

We were pretty bummed for a while after it happened and it certainly did pop into our minds a lot during the trip. Thank goodness for the fart machine and the 20 questions game. Very good distractors.

Lacey is, indeed, a character. She provides a lots of laughs for our family. We love her and have decided to keep her.:lmao:

Lisa your Lacey is an angel here on earth. She is so kind-hearted (just like her mom) and I'm sure her training has helped her tremendously, I think it is just born into her. It's those good genes she has.

I'm so excited to read about how they react with the reveal. I'm sure it made up for a lot you had been through. You are such a good, smart mom

Ginny

You know what, LIsa? It was a part of the trip and should be posted. Besides, the family could use all the prayers they can get, I'm sure, even from a bunch of strangers like us.

In my TR, it became a little bit of a bummer from time to time, but I posted it all just the same. I mean, it WAS a part of the story, right?

Looking forward to more. You have an amazing family. :thumbsup2

Great update - hate to hear about the tragedy but God was watching over y'all thankfully!

I can't wait to see how they react when they realize the resort is different... We only have 34 more days and we will be at the Happiest place on Earth - and we can't wait!

I was really lucky with Lacey. She was never one of those stuck up, snotty kids even through high school. She's also not one to go around "preaching" to everybody. She knows there is a time and place to lend her beliefs and thoughts to a situation.

Lacey also has a really strong support group of women at church. Most are older than her but she gets along with them just fine. They are fine upstanding Christian women and I feel like everybody needs someone other than a family member as friend/mentor. Sometimes, a person will listen to other people when they won't listen to their own family. (Dana, I am thinking of Dale right now. I know he listens to everybody else but not his own wife who is a nurse.:lmao:)

I appreciate your kind words. They mean a lot to me.

I hated posting the wreck portion because it brought back so many unpleasant memories. I don't think I've gone an entire day without thinking about it. But, like you said, the family of the driver and passenger can use as many prayers at they can get.

It WAS part of our journey and I think that it really made us appreciate each other a little more too.

I think our bunch is pretty amazing but it never hurts to hear someone say it.;)

He was indeed!

I bet you are just itching to get to Disney. In just a little over a month, you'll be there!

I just saw your signature. You're staying at Port Orleans Riverside soon. I hope you'll come back with lots of pictures and a review. This is one of the resorts we are considering for our 2010 trip.

Because you are an amazing person you made an amazing mother. Congrats.

Daughter Sandi and I are figuring out ways to surprise Sheri next Tuesday on our trip to Kansas City for her BD. Sheri is already complaining to me that she invited Sandi and she couldn't come. Couldn't come for mine, now can't come for hers. Too funny
