The Sea Witch Stole My Voice! Our Two Week Land and Sea Adventure! COMPLETE 4/12

Wow, crazy stalker lady is freaking me out! :scared1: Why on earth did the CMs not notice her and boot her crazy butt out of the park?!?! Sorry about the rain :headache: You both did a fantastic job with the Jiminy Cricket drawings - well done! :worship: I hope your ankle didn't bother you too much! Sorry for my absence, it's been insane here :guilty:

Cool pictures as usual - love the Vader ones! :thumbsup2

No idea why they didn't do anything about crazy lady. :confused3 Maybe because she wasn't doing anything harmful, just acting really creepy!

Mom and I were off to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We have been wanting to visit ever since our 2007 trip and we plan on staying there in 2012 so we wanted to take a look around.

The drive was pretty quick but I definitely see what people mean when they say it is far removed from everything else. It felt like we were in a separate world.

We pulled up to the guard station and told him that we were there to check out the resort and he waved us on through.

The parking lot here is huge, no danger of not being able to find a parking spot.

The resort sure was bustling, probably because it was prime dinner time so the two restaurants were super busy.

We first headed out to the pool area to check that out and also see what sort of animals we could see on that savannah.

I liked how secluded the hot tubs were from the main pool area, nice way to relax and get away from everything. I can imagine that you would feel like you truly were relaxing in a hot spring out in the jungle.

Mom and I found The Mara which is the counter service dining location. Nice and spacious and it was not busy at all even though it was prime dinner hour.

Another thing about the Mara, you can buy Zebra Domes here! I had read so much about them that I just had to get some and try them for myself.

They were much smaller than I expected, from the pictures I had always seen they always seemed bigger. :confused3 They were very reasonably priced.

Mom and I split them in half. They were okay and I would eat them again but I definitely did not have the major love for them that some people do.

After chowing down on the Zebra Domes we wandered off to find the main animal viewing spot for the lodge, the Arusha Rock.

Mom and I were very pleased with the resort and I can't wait to stay there! I loved the pool area, the resort was beautiful and it was fun getting to see all the animals.

After we were done at the lodge we drove over to the Publix we had found the other day. I wanted to stock up on band-aids for my feet before getting on the cruise. I also wanted to have them handy in case we hurt ourselves on one of our excursions. The reason we went to the Publix instead of the Walgreens is because we wanted to scope it out to see if it was nicer than the Goodings store we had been shopping at previously. Well we were very pleased, it was much nicer, much bigger, had way more variety and the prices were better. We will definitely be shopping there on our future trips instead of at Goodings.

After the grocery store we went to grab some dinner at the ever so exotic Pizza Hut. It was yummy as usual and hit the spot.

Back to the hotel to finish up our packing.

D7279.jpg

We had done pretty much all of the packing earlier so we just had to throw the last few things in the bags and then slap on the luggage tags for the cruise ship. The tags are sent to you in the mail with your cruise documents. You need to attach them to your bags as they have your name and stateroom number on them so that they get delivered to the right stateroom. I made sure that our carry-on bag had everything that we would need in the morning such as cruise documents, passports, swimsuits, etc. Basically anything we would need the first few hours on the ship.

Everything all packed and double-checked it was time for bed. We watched a few episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond before falling asleep. I am amazed that I was able to sleep that night as I was so excited to be leaving for the cruise in the morning!

And thus the Walt Disney World portion of this trip report has come to an end. I hope you all enjoyed it and that you will stick around to read about week two of our vacation, our 7-night cruise on the Disney Magic! We visited the beautiful ports of Tortola, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay!

I like all the Deluxe resorts except for the Contemporary, that one is too bland for my tastes.

As for the cruise report it is not about motivation but time! I leave on vacation late tomorrow night and thus won't be able to post until I get back. You can always go look at my pictures on Facebook to tide you over. ;)

Love your pics of AKL and your TR so far! We stayed at AKL and LOVED it in April...I can't wait to hear about your cruise too, DH and I are hoping to do a cruise/WDW combo for my 30th b-day (not until 4-2011!) and am eager to see what you think :yay:

That sounds like a really fun plan for your 30th! I loved DCL. :thumbsup2

Fantastic pictures of AKL, I love them. That resort is so beautiful. I can't wait to start reading about your cruise, I wouldn't peek at the facebook pix. Have a great time on your vacation!

I LOVE your AKL pics! It's one of the reasons I'm taking dh and mil to Boma in November. Not just to eat but so they can see the resort.

I'm not so much liking that we have to wait for the cruise portion of this report. :rolleyes1 j/k Have a great time away and I can't wait to read about it when you get back.

Yep, AKL is such a beautiful resort. Disney always does such a good job with their resorts.

 Well don't worry, it is only a week's delay while I go kill myself mountain climbing with my dad and brothers but hey maybe I'll shed a few pounds on this "vacation". :lmao:

I'll be posting a few teaser photos from the cruise tomorrow night before I leave to tide you all over while I am gone, well to tide over those not on Facebook. ;)

I will be, just pray we don't run into any bears! :scared1: If we do my plan of attack is to push the step-mother towards it and then run like heck. :lmao:

Just rub a little meat on her everyday without her knowing and you'll be good to go. :thumbsup2
