If I don't get in, we're going to Disney.. PTR for 8/25/09! Now with Fact of the Day!

Thanks Jen!!

So I was slacking yesterday, and then lost track of time... so here are the facts for Days 5 and 4!

5 days!!!
A little Star Tours tip. Listen to the announcements. I'm not sure if they still do it, but they used to page an Egroeg Sacul. George Lucas backwards.

What is the significance behind the license plate number "021-429" on the car depicted in the gangster shoot-out sequence of "The Great Movie Ride?” It is the date of the Valentines Day Massacre---Feb. 14, 1929.

4 days!!!!
The red, yellow, and white pipes above the load area at “Dinosaur” are for Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayonnaise, and the letters on each pipe are their chemical formulas. (DinoLand USA is sponsored by McDonalds…)

If you look at the signs for Animal Kingdom, there is a dragon among the animals on the bottom. This was supposed to represent "Beastly Kingdom," a land of the park with mythical creatures that was planned but never developed.

I forgot to add that I only have 2 days of work left! 8 hours tomorrow (technically today) and then 4 on Monday. Although I may leave an hour early Monday if they let me, because I want to get home and get to sleep.

Today (Friday) is Lou's last day of work! Then he's coming over for my sister's birthday (cake). :lmao:

Anyone else getting pretty much daily emails from Disney? And they told me to bring my laptop with me on the trip, so I can check the email tips they send me. No thank you, Disney.... and I don't have a phone with email capabilities. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to go by my commando-style touring plans that we may or may not follow.

I still need to pack:
•Sweater/coat
•Toothbrush
•Contacts/glasses
•Contact lens solution
•Grooming stuff (brush, comb, etc)
•Extra memory cards
•Cell phone w/charger
•iPod and charger
•Safety pins
•Pennies for pressing
•Pins for trading
•Sharpies/Pens

Not bad! Mostly stuff that I need before then. :woohoo:

I got them 2 days in a row, and then was sorta disappointed not to get one yesterday. :lmao:

However I will have my laptop with me so I can try to post updates and such for family back home. (in addition to my tweets) Plus, need to clear my pix off my memory cards each day. :)

That would be the only reason I would bring my laptop - would be to clear pictures. But I'm hoping my memory cards will be enough.

Hey! Danica, I'm on here real quick checking things! I have to finish cleaning and doing laundry etc... I still have to pack me and DH all the kids are packed!!! I can't wait the weekend usually flys by so I should be in Disney in no time! lol! I'm debating on bringing DD's laptop not to do updates she wants to bring it! IDK we'll see!;)

OK! I'm going to say this now because I'm not sure just how much I will be on here in the next 2 days! I have to make sure everything is done at home and I don't forget anything! I will be on just may be the weee hours of the morning! :goodvibes
HAVE A SAFE TRIP AND HOPEFULLY WE WILL MEET UP AT SOME POINT! Don't forget to give me the time again for that American Idol thing on the 29th for Lou! I'm gonna try and make it! :thumbsup2

That would be very fun! If you can or can't, I'm sure we'll have stories for you!

I know we'll see each other at some point, but if we don't talk before then, have a safe flight down, and have fun until we get there! I can't believe we're almost there! I really need to get everything together now....

I have a funny story for all the ladies here... I was watching TV really late at night a while ago (or maybe it was early in the morning) - basically, nothing was on, and there was an infomercial for these things called "StrapPerfect" that you hook onto your bra straps to hide them on racerbacks and tank tops.... which I reallyyyyy needed for Disney, because I didn't want to:
a) have my bra straps showing in every picture
b) have to wear a second teeshirt (even if it is really light fabric, it's still a second layer) to hide them

Only thing is, they were 20$, not to mention shipping and handling. But then I was at CVS the other day with my friend, and I was like ! "There they are!" And they were only 10$ for 6 of them (they're hard plastic, but they come in different colors).

And normally I am not big on buying things from infomercials, but I figured it was worth the risk to see if they worked, and not faint from the heat. And sure enough, they work! I'm super excited (how lame is that?) because I was worried they would be really uncomfortable, but I didn't even notice it. I might when I get really hot, but I don't think it will be that bad.

So that was my little purchase. :woohoo:

Oh yeah, did I mention we only have THREE DAYS LEFT!!!!!!

Oops, fact of the day. In a week, we will be getting ready for Lou to audition for American Idol Experience! Wow!

Oh!!!!!!! I have some awesome news - his friend (I can't give names) is going to be on the REAL American Idol next season!!!!!!!!!! So everybody better tune in... because I know I'm going to. Which is something I never thought I'd say...

And Lou might be on the show for a few seconds as well, because they did a "hometown" clip on Codzilla, and Lou was working with his friend that day. He kept trying to get in the shot .... so he might be on. Pretty neat, huh? :)

3 days!!!!!
In Fantasmic, the island stage is surrounded by a 1.9 million gallon moat--enough water to fill every bathtub in the more than 24,000 rooms on Walt Disney World Resort property--twice.

If you exit the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular theater from the far right-side stairway (as you face the stage), pay attention as you go onto the landings. Look for the hand of a CM rising above the railing holding the golden idol from the show's Mayan temple. The idea is to pat the head of the idol as you go past.

Great updates and the Fact of the day was pretty neat too! What is the time for the American Idol ?

Not sure yet... the finale show (if he makes that) is at 7. Other than that, there are shows on the hour, every hour (supposedly) from 11 or 12 to 6. As soon as he auditions at 9 am, I'll send out a text to everyone letting them know what's going on. :thumbsup2

He's been practicing a lot lately.... and I bought a little bear full of honey to bring with us to the parks for his throat... :lmao:

So I may not need to work on Monday! Well.... not for 4 hours, at least.

My boss has been acting weird with the schedule lately, and even though I wrote him a letter telling him about my vacation (he's in in the mornings and I come in at night, so I don't see him much) he has messed it up...

On Friday, I was supposed to be covering for someone, but he put me on the schedule, then crossed me out... but then added me again. I was confused, but went in anyway, and they did need me, so that was good. But then he didn't have me down for Monday night, even though I said I was leaving Tuesday.

So I don't have to go in, but I talked to my coworker, and she said she could use the help from 5-6, and the person who is supposed to be covering for me is going to be alone from 6-7, so if I could come in to help her, and I can stay or leave after that. So I'm probably going to leave after that to go finish everything that needs to be done. We're ALMOST THERE!!!! Soooo excited!

2 days!!!!!!
In Liberty Square, where they have the building fronts with just door after door, stop and take a look at them. The addresses on the doors are all two numbers. If you put 18 in front of them, that is the style of door they would have had for that year.
There are no bathrooms located in Liberty Square, in keeping with the time period of that area.
In Liberty Square, look down at the main walkway (which is also the parade route). Instead of just plain cement, there's also an area a couple feet wide that goes all the way down the walkway and looks like a brownish/yellow gravel. The gravel area represents the urine trough.
Look at the 2nd story windows in Liberty Square. One has a rifle and another has 2 lanterns for "1 if by land, 2 if by sea.”

So I have kept bugging my mother, as an early birthday present, to give me some money to take to Disney with me.... and she kept going "We'll see, we'll see." So finally, I dropped it.

However, as I have mentioned somewhere, she told me I need to clean my room before I leave on the plane. And she has repeatedly told me this. And this morning I found out why....

She had "hidden" (in plain sight) a note saying Happy (early) Birthday, with some money for me to take! :woohoo:

Now I see why she told me to clean my room... :rolleyes1 Whoops...

Ok! This is probably my final post unless we get bored at the airport and actually have a signal on the laptop! I'm glad to hear you are feeling better! :thumbsup2That's so cool that you're mom gave you your bday present early! Well i'll be on the plane in 10hrs and in florida in 12 1/4 hrs as long as we take off on time! Well I guess I will see you at one of the pool parties I Hope or maybe AIE!

Alright everyone - it's the last day!

1 day!!!!!!!
The frontage of each country is exactly the same, as is the height of their tallest feature (e.g., mountains in Canada, Eiffel tower, etc.). Some spread out inside more than others, but the frontage on the walkway is the same. They wanted to make sure everyone was equal—forced perspective is what makes some look taller.

In Norway, the roof has grass growing on it! Horticulture CMs get up on the roof and trim the grass with clippers since they don’t seem to have a goat to keep up there as they do in Norway.

So I think we're done shopping and everything.... I bought a new SD card (4 gbs for 15$, which was better than the 20 for 2 I was seeing at other places) which will hold over 2000 photos.... I think I'm all set now!

Lou got new sandals (which he tried to make me think were Crocs... then let me down... :rotfl2:) and shorts. He's packed, he says.. but we're going to go over everything before he comes over, just in case. I think he's good to go though.

I went to bed at midnight last night, and got up at 6 (it was supposed to be 5) so that I'd be really tired tonight and go to bed as soon as I get home, so I can be up at 5 tomorrow to head out. My ME tags are attached, one bag is packed, and one bag is almost done being packed - just need the things I'll use today.

Good thing is that I still am in a sense of "is it happening?" Therefore, I'm not going to be up all night - unless I get a shock of reality today. (By the way, I'm wearing a Disney shirt to work today! Alice in Wonderland. It's not coming with me on the trip.)

Alright everyone, I will be on tonight, but I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to check during the day today.

Have a magical day! :wizard:

:goodvibes

Thanks! I'll try. Even on vacations, I can't get away from scrapping... :rotfl:
The amount of pictures I want to take to use all the pieces I get is going to be insane...

And yay for ADRs! I still don't feel like it's real.... :confused3 I am, as you can tell, confused.

I know we're going, and I'm excited... but I'm not.. excited? Like, when I found out that we were upgraded to SSR, I freaked out, and was excited then. But now I'm like "oh, ho-hum, we're leaving in 20 hours." Well, that was a little exciting.. maybe there's hope for me yet!

I wonder if I overplanned? :scared:
I've gone over what we can/could/should do so many times, that I still think it's all just getting planned, and not actually happening?

I apologize for the self-analysis.. this is what happens when you read a Psych major's pre-trip report! :lmao:

Oh well. Not long now!

I've laminated the LGMHs and my touring plans, so now I think I want some breakfast. I am not feeling well still, but I think it's because I haven't eaten since dinner, and I've been up for three hours already. I can't get sick!

How exciting. I was hoping I would get a chance to get on before you left....again I am really behind! LOL! I hope Lou maked American Idol, but just the experience of trying out will be too cool!
Have fun. I bet it will hit you tonihgt. I plan ALOT and still am super excited, and even the whole week there I have the adrenaline going big time. Then when I come home I totally crash....for months! LOL!
