Why would you book the BB FD plan instead of just waiting for next years promo?

is there any extra benefit to booking the BB version??

I am just curious because if FD has come out the last few years in a row...whats the big deal of booking it a year out?? and giving Disney $200 now instead of next year?

is it just convenience??

just curious....:)

I would think it's just making sure you have the resort you want. THere is no guarantee as well that the offer will be there next spring or summer. Sometimes the date timeframe is longer if you book on the bounceback as well. It was for 2007 bounce back for 2008, but Disney Visa (only to visa holders last year) did offer a free dining offer. Maybe the offer for the bounce back will have DDP for all hotels as well, the new Disney Visa offer only has the quick serve for Values. Another thing is WDW has your 200 for a year!! that could be good or bad in your eyes. If you have Disney Visa, you could pay it off interest free for 6 months and have that much of your trip cost out of the way. The deposit is refundable up to 45 days prior to the first day of stay though.

Last Christmas, my DS 13 and I went to Disney Dec 11-23 on a VERY good PACKAGE discount. We stayed at POP with DDP regular one, PH for 10 days for less than 2,000.!!! When I checked out I was offered a discount if I rebooked before checkout with a 200.00 deposit. I don't know if it was the exact same discount, because that was equivalent to more than a 40 % discount if I believe.

And when FD came out for my timeframe I was so excited because I had always missed FD. The package discount was cheaper in the long run so I kept that!! I am hoping for that discount again!!!

We always book to bb fd because as another poster stated you have no garuntee(sp:lmao:) that they will offer fd to the gp every year and you have a better chance of getting the resort and or dates you want if you book it sooner...and you can always cancel if you get a better offer later;)

BB dates are sometime a little different than the GP dates, this is very important if your booking at the beginning or end of dates as they may change.

So you can update your Dis ticker when you get home for your next trip? :goodvibes

We would book BB b/c we always go around the same time as Free Dining and would like to secure a room at POR for our next trip. I hope they are offering it this year, 2 yrs ago BB was offered but not to us. We never knew about it till we got home and I got on the Dis. Needless to say I was  w/ our mousekeepers at CSR as I missed out. And trust me you CANNOT book BB after you leave.

I know all about regular BB rates..they are great. We used a BB rate to book our stay in Sept...we were just there in May.

I thought the FD was alwasy offered...didn't realize it was to visa members, etc only sometimes.

I am not that interested in the FD...would rather book the room only at a great rate:goodvibes

We did it to make sure we would get POFQ. The resorts have a certain amount of rooms dedicated to each promo. Just in case 'life' gets in the way of us being able to call at 7 am the first day of a promo....we book the bounceback!;)

1. BB dates are usually broader then GP
2. Although Disney has done free dine the last 4 years, theres no guarantee they will do it next year
3. They may offer free DDP for BB and free QS for GP
4. The resort you want may not be available for the GP but with BB you have it 7-8 months before anyone else
5. You can make payments on your package for a full year, helpful to some people
6. Last year Disney offered FD BB and a 30% discount at select resorts
