3/17 Update Day 13 of our 14 day! DISUnplugged PODCAST CRUISE and a rainy week at WDW

Later Todd actually danced with the wife from the duet team! It was rather amusing! I think we converted her to becoming a DISer!

I think that was one of the funniest moments of the night. She and Todd danced well, errr, umm, uhhh.... provocatively
One of the many many priceless moments of the cruise ;)

Is this the woman whom I have a picture of her hand on my belt buckle???:confused3

Today was an amazing day! And a bit of a sad day too....today is our last full day on the ship. This day I did not take very many pictures...so I will share one of Aaron and Nana.....remember they are at Walt Disney World and it is their 2nd day!
My favorite picture of the two of them:
Image13.jpg

(and no..she doesn't carry that bag over her shoulder all day...she hangs it on the back of the stroller.)

We wake up at 8:30 and I dress in DIS Purple (my shirt) and DIS lime green (my shorts)...no I wasn't trying to be the Joker...I still need to get DIS orange Crocs and my ensemble would have been complete (oh yeah that is right, upon looking at my pic with Lee, I noticed that I pinned on my shirt the DIS Pin of the logo...which is orange!) We head down to the movie theater where the live podcast will start recording at 9 am!

On our way over got to take a picture of our Sea Day
100_3460.jpg

Jason and I find seats next to Jaime! The podcast begins and it was so surreal to see the podcast team all talking and cracking jokes. I just can't even describe it! Before we knew it the live taping was over!! What it is already 11 AM! Gosh, time flies when you are listening/watching the Podcast!

We take a short break and Lee Cockerell the writer of Creating Magic, and former Executive Vice President of Operations for the Walt Disney World Resort. (now I have to say something here...when I was listening to the podcast and they said they had some speaker talking...I wasn't impressed but I still was going to come to everything and hear everything) But Lee Cockerell is an AMAZING man! He literally had me in tears! His talk just showed me how under appreciated I was at my current job and how much we need to be kind to one another because you never know what is going on in someone elses personal life. I just was in awe of how much this man just made common sense logic to me, but the human race doesn't seem to practice this much. People get so wrapped up in themselves that they forget to give others praise and encouragement! Gosh I was just overwhelmed with emotions! At some point I believe before Lee's talk people went up to ask Lee questions...and he even took notes!!

Ok...so I was so impressed with Lee that when I was walking up the stairs to get in line for Lee's autograph I saw John and I had to go thank him for setting this up for us! But of course...I wasn't thinking clearly and I said, "Kevin, I just want to thank you for having this for us! It was truly an awe inspiring morning..." John says, "I am John but thanks!"
DOH!!

I felt so ridiculous that I just mistook John for Kevin I don't even know how I did it! Soon John was behind me and I told him "You and Kevin are so incognito that I got you guys confused! Sorry about that!!" John told me not to worry about it, but I still felt really bad! John then said that we will be moving the book signing to another location because we had to vacate the theater and go take our group picture it is now 1 pm. But that after the picture he will be in a room downstairs signing books.

LargeGroupPhoto.jpg

(can you believe that as of right now, there will be double the amount of people for PCC 2.0!!!!)

Jason and I head down and John is standing in the doorway talking to other DISers about Project X!! Come on spill the beans already!!
We talk to Marla Hellwig a Dreams agent that booked our next leg of the trip coming up! Then it is time to meet Lee!

He signs our book, poses for a pic and has spread out on the table some really cool Disney Pins of encouragement and just ones that I have never seen before. I pick out a pin and we head out to find something to eat! It is now 2 pm and we are STARVING!!!

We head up to Deck 9 so Jason can get his Disney Chicken Nuggets and I head over to Goofy's Galley again! I love this place! We sit and just relax and watch the sea pass...we cannot believe this is our last day! We didn't even get to talk and meet as many people as we wanted to.

We then head down to the shops and explore that part of the ship since we haven't yet! We walk through Shutters and find all the DISers that we know, wow we had alot on the ship with us! We stop and watch the Art Auction from up above. That was pretty entertaining.

A picture of our lovely section of the ship....

It is now 4pm and since we won't have much time to pack up our stuff between dinner at the podcast farewell party and the bags have to be out in the hallway before 11 we decide to pack up our stuff now. We get everything packed up and get into our evening wear and head up to see the final show.... Dreams an enchanted classic....
" For every kid, and every kid-at-heart, this Classic Disney tale lets you discover the power of dreams as imagination escapes into a world of enchantment and adventure. With a little Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust, a young girl's wish becomes a dream come true in this spectacular fantasy. Join Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and all your favorite Disney characters on a quest to make Dreams Come True.
Jaime brings the tissues...and I am sooo glad she did! We were both crying by the end of this show! Disney and Dreams and Wishes will get me to cry every time! (Ok..one more little back story here.....When Jason and I went on our honeymoon and went to the MK this was the first time we saw Wishes firework show. I was watching them and thinking about how we have a great future ahead of us and one day we will have children and it will be fantastic to bring them back to WDW! Little did I know that Aaron was already inside my tummy...because at the time I was already 3 months pregnant! I wasn't suppose to be able to have children without some medical help..but I wanted a child bad enough that he was my Wish) So this is why I get very choked up and emotionally!

Between the show and Dinner Jason rebooks for 2.0 while I talk to Jeff and Val! I love Jeff and Val they are so incredibly nice and super cute!!
But I have to go get a picture before the sunsets! I promised that I would not miss the last sunset!
100_3468.jpg

(oh well...not a very good one...clouds were in the way)

Now it is time for dinner at Tritons!

Appetizers:
Jason Orders:
Duck Confit Salted and Slow-cooked Duck, Dried Prunes, Candied Walnuts, Chicory, and Mized Leaves with Apple-Walnut Dressing
100_3475.jpg

I order:
“Prince Eric’s” Escargots Gratines
Herb-marinated Snails with Finely Chopped Mushrooms, topped with Garlic Butter
100_3474.jpg

(YUM! YUM! YUM!!)

Ok...remember at Palo Brunch when Jaime got Jason to try Ahi Tuna on the silver spoon? And I told him he needs to try stuff for me more often! Well....here is where it bites me in the . So the escargots are delish and I tell Jason to try one. He does and agrees that they are good!

Soups and Salads:
Jason orders:
Avocado-Citrus Salad with Iceberg and Radicchio Leaves with an Orange Vinaigrette
100_3477.jpg

I order:
Tomato and Basil Soup rich blend of tomato, fresh basil and cream
100_3476.jpg

(it's tomato soup...what more is there to say.)

Our entrees come...and Jason turns to me and says....I am not feeling well...I have to leave!! So he gets up and leaves and never comes back!

Jason ordered:
Slowly Braised Lamb Shank with a Creamy Polenta and Portobello Mushroom in a Red Wine Sauce
100_3479.jpg

(this was not touched since Jason was gone...and Hans asked if we would like it to be sent up to your room.....I said sure. He also said that we were celebrating Jason's birthday tonight with the personal cake...would you like that sent up to your room as well...I said sure. But neither the lamb shank or the cake ever did appear in our room! Oh well...that's what I get for making Jason try the escargot....He thinks he has a shellfish allergy, I think the escargot may have had some olive oil in them....or that duck confit that he had didn't look all that good either. Who knows what made him sick!?!?)

I order:
“Triton’s” Seared Sea Bass with a Mushroom and Herb Risotto, Sweet Onion Marmalade, and garnished with a Potato Crisp
100_3478.jpg

(oh my gosh this was good! My mother had told me before going on the trip that if Sea Bass is ever an option to go with it! I am sure glad I did! The sweet onion marmalade was Awesome!!)

And a dinner would not be complete with out the Sweet Temptations, I really couldn't believe that Rick was getting the Sweet Tempatations again!! I had to order one too, those sweet things sure know how to tempt ya!
But I was sooo distracted by Jason not being present that I forgot to take a picture!

Triton’s Sweet Temptations A Trio of Crème Brulee, Chocolate Mousse, and Praline Petite Cheux

(this Sweet Temptation wasn't half bad...I remember liking the Mousse and the Creme Brulee.)

I go back to the room to check on Jason and I see this

I think you told me this that night, but I still got choked up reading it just now!

There were sunsets?!?!?!?!?! Good Lord, I really need to take another cruise and GO OUTSIDE!!!!!

As in "Sick as a dog?" :lmao: (Sorry, Jason)

I'm sure it was the shellfish... although the sea getting rougher didn't help matters much. If it was olive oil my eyes would get puffy or throat would swell; neither happened (and no Jaime, I wont try some to show you what happens).

I just wanted to tell everyone how awesome Hans was, he was great and fun, and I really hope he's there for 2.0 (doubtful, however).

It figures I miss out on creme brulee, I didn't even know I did until reading your TR  I hate that I missed the last dinner with Rick and Lori, I felt really embarrassed running out of there like that.

And yes, Todd, that was the one you were dirty dancing with ;)

I can't believe that between this trip report and Jamie's that there wasn't a single mention of that guy in the gift shop pushing his scent. Or his pants. :rolleyes1

I think you mean the tightest pants I have ever seen!!!! His pants made the Jonas Bros. pants seem like MC Hammer pants. :rotfl2:

You know, Jeff, I did mention he was ON the ship, but I never followed up with when I talked to him - or Kevin's Rainbow coment... I will add Geir to my Final Thoughts & Foprgotten Stories section!

I never saw him :( I wish I did, I'd love to have the mental image of what the Crew was joking about.
Kinda weird too, I walked through that store twice, I saw the 'station' but not Mr. Tight Pants; he must've been on break.
On that note, I was a little disappointed that we didn't find anything that we wanted to buy on the ship itself (we did find a couple shirts on Castaway Cay), maybe on 2.0 we'll find some specialty souvenirs.

Me either - I didn't even buy a PIN!

I bought a glass square thing that has the logo on it. But I was kinda disappointed in the on board merchandise, too.

Awesome report Shanan. Love it! :thumbsup2

I didn't see him either but I certainly smelled him Jason. Good lord that stuff made me gag! I couldn't go near that store.

I was pretty displeased with the variety of items as well. I didn't like any of the adult shirt styles on the ship and the one shirt on CC I really liked was out of my size. On PCC 2.0 I'm shopping on CC before anything else. I'll probably alos check out the two ship stores day 1 as well.

LOL! Good one Jaime! :thumbsup2

WOW! Those are some TIGHT pants!

Awww....I didn't even know they had PINs to buy! Or trade with for that matter. I know at night you could trade pins in a line with the crew, but that was kind of weird! On the last night Karen showed me a set of 3 pins she bought they were in the shape of the boat! They are super cool! And on top of it she tells me that they were only 5 dollars! :scared1: Of course the shops were all closed by then. :guilty:

Yeah, the merchandise was all...umm...junk/expensive. The merchandise on CC seemed so much nicer/cheaper!

Can't wait to see you on Saturday!! :woohoo:

Hey Shanan I've caught up again - this report is excellent, we missed so much! I think we're gonna do the late seating for dinner next time and hoepfully be on a large table with other Disers.

I loved your martini tasting - sounds like so much more fun than the wine - yawn! I was under the opinion that martinis were all gin based - DOH - so I hope we get to that next time, I will totally be there :cool1:

And Castaway Cay - we totally missed the adult beach :scared1: we had our Palo brunch that morning and only just got there in time for the party. We had a fab time though and it was amazing how many of us there were

Are you carrying on with the WDW part? DATW was a good evening :lovestruc

Hi Becky!! YAY! I am glad you are all caught up and liking it! We weren't really at a large table at dinner, we just sat with Rick and Lori. It was nice having a smaller table....since I really didn't know any one yet! But next time it would be great if all of us were at a really long table! YAY! Let the rowdiness begin!
We definitely didn't get enough time on CC period! It was nuts to see all of us at the party...and can you just imagine what 600+ will look like?!?:scared1:

Yep I will be continuing this TR out in full! I am still trying to stretch it as much as possible too, considering I won't be going again until PCC 2.0...but at least I can live vicariously through all of you!

:wave2: Just saying Hi! Wanted to let you know that just because I'm not posting doesn't mean I'm not reading. :flower3:
I'm excited to find out about your Disney World Days now that I saw that cute picture of you and your son today at Doorway to Dreams.

-nat

I'm sorry to hear Jason got sick! :headache: I hope he was able to recover quickly...and where did you find him??? Hmmmm...:scratchchin:

The story of you wanting a baby brought tears to my eyes...and little did you know you were pregnant! That little one is truly a miracle, isn't he? :goodvibes: The pic of him and his Grammy is adorable!

Love the sea pic too...so so pretty!
