Becky That may haunt me tonight in my sleep  I like fish but not when it is looking at me.

Today started out ok then rainy and now the sun is out:rolleyes1 .

The fundraiser was for one of my neighobr daughter friends. He has juvenile diabetes. They had a small group around 50 people show up. I think they did a fair amount the juvenile diabetes fund. I won a gift certificate for a local restaurant and a park district passes :thumbsup2

Tonight we are just having leftovers.

Almost forgot, we're treating ourselves to a fabulous meal tonight....prime rib and caeser salad, it's almost ready.:woohoo:

Quick fly by...dinner was sandwiches and salads that were left from yesterday. We had a nice visit with my cousin and her 2 kids. Her son went to camp for a week just down the road a bit. He is Autistic and attended Camp Fatima which is a really nice foundation that sends special needs children to camp. It sounds like he had a ball. Our friend volunteers his time and always dresses up for the play they put on. He was somebody from Shrek this year...one year he was Michael FATley! :lmao: OK, babbling...sorry!

Enjoy your time with hubby! ;) :thumbsup2:rolleyes1 ...

Tomorrow I am taking the kids down the shore. My sister rents a house for 3 weeks every year and has the rest of us down a day. I am bringing wings with that marinade that I posted here a while ago...YUM!

Oh and my stove is fixed...darn it. Tom figured it out...a blown fuse! Took long enough to figure that one out! :rolleyes1

Hope everyone is doing well! :grouphug:

Hey all! Well, I've had a pretty decent weekend. Emma and I had an "All about Emma" day on Saturday. She got to pick what we did all day. We had lunch at McD's, played at a local children's place, saw Bandslam, and then topped it off with Baskin Robbins. Fun day! Then today Scott and I headed to her school for a new parents orientation. It's like starting a new school for me too--as this school isn't in our neighborhood (not even in our town) and I don't know (or thought I didn't) any of the parents and kids. I did meet two very nice moms this afternoon who are just as emotional/nervous over this as I am. I also just read her class roster on the web a minute ago and actually know 2 other of the kids in her class. Small world! Tomorrow we have school supply drop off, ribbon cutting of the new high school building, and meet your teacher night. Should be more tears from me.

Dinner was pizza out Friday night, grilled burgers Sat. night, and then bbq chicken and grilled veggies tonight.

Kathy--glad to hear the move in went well. I'm here for you friend! Especially b/c I'll need a shoulder or two on Wednesday morning!

Becky--I am amazed at your pics! Except the fish heads, yes, that was mean! ;)

Okay, gonna go love on my "baby" girl and head to bed!

Hey everyone! I'm back! Did you miss me? I sure missed all of you! My family and I spent a fun filled week at a lake called Flaming Gorge. It was beautiful! I do have to say that camping with an 8 month old is not my idea of real fun! Let's just say Timothy's sleep schedule has really suffered! Anyway, we had a great family reunion, until some stomach bug attacked us all! Nasty!!! I did get some great pictures before the bug hit, so I'll try to get them posted so you can see us all in our camping glory.

Sounds like there are many who need prayers. I hope you know that you are all in my prayers all the time!

Kat - I'm hoping the Kyle makes the transition to living at LSU well! Sounds like he's in a great place! I can't wait to hear how you find them on Friday!

Nancy - Your story of the woman at the beach really had me cringing! I can't believe that someone would think that was ok!

Sheryl - I'm so sorry that your aide situation has gotten worse, yet again! I'm also praying for Alexis! Hopefully, she'll feel better soon.

Hugs and pixie dust to the rest of you! I tried to remember everything, but I'm old, and my brain is just not what it used to be!

Glynis - glad you're back!

Tonight the staff cooked and served a dinner party - a church member bid on it as a youth fundraiser and then invited her guests to it. For the first course, we did a pecan, blue cheese, and watercress salad tossed in a vinegrette - it was beautiful! You put the salad part in between a sliced pear and put the pear back together, then drizzle with honey. I'm making it for my next dinner party - so easy but so elegant. Main course was marinated asparagus, lemon risotto, and carmalized salmon with fruit salsa on top. Dessert was homemade peach ice cream.

Anyway, we got to eat while they ate so it was a good night food wise!

Hey everyone! I'm back! Did you miss me?

Welcome back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot imagine camping with a baby, you are one brave woman!

Aimee- how are you feeling?

Maria- I am always forgetting to ask how your niece is doing. I am waiting to hear that she got the part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone heard from Gretchen? I worry about her.

Ann- my Sis Il has a Mac and would not have any other computer. SHe is a graphic artist and swears by her MAC. We are going to get a computer in a few weeks. I used Jeff's gaming rig so I am wicked spoiled. He left it here for a while but when he took it home my SIS il janice gae me her old E Machine, which is slow compared to what I was used too and is slowly dying. Donny is going to put together a system for me and I cannot wait! I cannot even stay on FB long becasue my computer is so slow that give up.

Janice- WHen does Alex begin school?

Buddy has a 4 PM appointment with the Dr. I am going with him and Marisa will watch Nola for me. I am not sure what good I will be, he was having a CT scan and I was convinced it was an MRI. No idea what teh difference is but I do know they are not the same. I hope that between the two of us we understand the Dr. He is really uncomfortable and was not looking forward to going back to work today. Last Thursday he told me that when he would shift he needed to use his arm to pick his leg up. His truck has 13 speeds and when he is driving in the hills he needs to use the clutch a lot. When I told him that if it is a stone it may hurt when he passes it he was shocked. He thought that it just Poofed and was gone :sad2:. Maybe so but the folks that I knwo who have had thm have not smiled when they told me about them.

Marisa is cooking tonight so we are having a New England Boiled dinner. YUM!

Hi Girls,

We went to look at the IMAC yesterday. DH has found a new love.:lmao: He keeps talking about it so I think eventually we are going to be proud owners of the Apple IMAC.

We have put the minivan on hold till September as recommended by a nice salesman we met. He think there will be better rates and more inventory once cash for clunkers slows down sales.:lmao: I never thought I would want to be a minvan mom but now I can't wait.

Sorry to break the news about the drain flies to you all, but you will all thank me later.

Last night was just burgers and flies, oops...I mean fries! :lmao:

Becky, that fish looks great to me too. DM and I love to get the whole fish at our Thai restaurant...yum.

Off to get the kids ready. I have errands to run and then I am going to my parents for lunch and take Luke under the sprinkler. It is a hot one today.

WFD- BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, and pasta salad.

Morning Ladies,

Busy weekend here. We are trying to get everything situated to move Matthew next weekend. Probably some during the week also. His campus & house is about and hour from us so it is convienent.

Saturday, I grilled 2 turkey breasts with a wonderful marinade, corn on the cob with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, fresh bread (still warm from the oven).

Last night Doug and I celebrated our Birthday's with the family. We grilled Sirloins, Beer brats, and Chicken breasts. There was a potato salad, macaroni salad, pasta salad, creamed cucumbers, Baked potatoes (for Matthew), baked sweet potatoes, and a chocolate truffle birthday cake. The whole family, sans Jay, was there even Doug's parents. A great time was had be all and the food was pretty good too.

WFDT ~ LEFTOVERS!!

I haven't read back to catch up yet. But I will, and I'll BBL.

Kat I wanted you to know I thought about you all weekend. I held you very close my friend. {{{hugs}}}

Maria ~ take me up on my offer if you need me.

Make it a great day everyone.

Ellen, thank you so much! I appreciate your kindness & support:hug:

Nancy, I spoke to Gretchen Friday. She is doing as well as can be expected. Her sister was in for a visit but returned home. Hailey was able to have some quality time with her Grand Dad. Kenny, is just being a wonderful support & strength for her.
She asked for continued prayers of mercy. :grouphug:

Ann, this is a MAC only house & we have been really happy with them.

Kat, praying for a smooth transition for all of you.

Glynis, camping id hard enough for me to grasp never mind with a baby.

Aimee, that salad sounds great, glad you enjoyed your dinner.

Steph, an Emma Day! What a great way to spend some special time.

Lauren, perfect beach day. Enjoy!

Only read a page back but thinking of all....

WFD - Red beans & rice and grilled Italian sausages.

Good luck at the doctor's! I hope the news is good, and that it's "just" a kidney stone, although that will not be fun! I have had 18 stones, and none of them have just "poofed" away! It's not a fun process! If, however, he can catch the stone, they can analyze it, and possibly give him medication to prevent another one (depending on the type of stone it is).

My brother passed his first kidney stone while hunting in the mountain. He was alone, and it really freaked him out. He called his wife, but she really didn't give him much sympathy, since he had left her the week before to go hunting while she was miscarrying. They have a really odd relationship, but it seems to work for them!

Tell Buddy that I'll be praying for him!

Thanks Glynis! I don;t know much about them but I really did not think he would be lucky enough to have this one just disappear. I cannot imagine your brother alone but under the circumstances I tend to agree with his wife.

Still no medication.

I hope they are able to find out something today.

I think Sept/Oct is some of the best times to buy cars. For one, the new models are overtaking the lots and they are getting desperate to move out the old. It's also a slower time so they are offering more incentives and lower interest rates.

My BFF got a mini van after getting pregnant with #3 and they drove it to a Sunday school party. She said there is nothing more hilarious than watching a bunch of 30 year old MEN playing with all the gadgets and drooling over a mini van :rotfl: All the women stood in the house and giggled at them. Things change when you're carting kids and their gear!

I believe that some people refer to that as karma... :rolleyes1

I have a meeting tonight so I'm meeting some people for dinner prior.
