After taking a pic of our view we semi unpacked (moving on in 3 days) and went to explore.

As we went down past the pool there was no one in it, thought maybe a storm was due and they had got everyone out but when we asked were told there had been an 'accident' and they were waiting half an hour or so for the water to go through the filter mmmm lovely!

Walked to Universal Studios through the grounds, its a lovely walk along the side of the lake. Please get used to Ashley's miserable look on the photos, this is what he was like most of the time, if he did manage a smile he looked like Wallace from Wallace and Gromit! In fact on this photo you would think they were all headed home instead of having just arrived.

After going in Shrek 4D we headed to the Simpsons as its one of the boys favourite TV shows.

After a quick stroll around returned to the hotel and called in at the Beachclub cafe next to the pool for something to eat. Ashley had a burger and John and Glen had a pizza, I opted for a cocktail called Blue Suede Shoes, I told the waitress my favourite ingredients and she recommended this, didn't know it was going to match my dress! It was very large but kept me happy!!!!

They began to set up the screens for the movie showing at 8.30, one of the Harry Potter films. Ashley was started to feel tired so John took him back to the room while Glen and I had half an hour or so in the water before giving into tiredness.

We got back to our room, had a quick look out of the window and could see fireworks in the distance, as it was just gone 10pm I think it must have been Wishes. Turn down service had left us two bouncy balls on the pillows:erm:we had a little gift every night but that first night wondered what on earth they were there for - would have preferred a chocolate:d:

hotel looks fab and the view from your room is amazing :thumbsup2 It is kind of weird that you were left bouncy balls on your pillow :confused3

Excellent start. We are staying for 1 night at HRH in Nov looks really nice. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

My DD would of loved bouncy balls on the pillow, not me though, bouncy balls and kids = chaos.

I know, fortunately I don't know what happened to them!!!! They may have been left in Florida:rotfl:
Nice looking cocktail, I bet your tongue turned blue!
Don't know, didn't look, was too busy enjoying drinking it!
Wow! A color coordinated drink for you and not wearing glasses! How cool is that?

Jean

I know, I've now got better eye sight than John. (In case anyone wonders I had laser eye treatment last summer for swimming with the dolphins on this holiday - didn't half add to the expense!)

Loving the no glasses look Wendy! ;) A year ago yesterday for me, did you have yours done the same day I can't quite remember now. Isn't it great being able to see what's going on when you are in the pool etc! :goodvibes

Had mine done the day before on 14th August, can't believe its a year and yes its great to be able to swim without the specs but I still don't like getting my face wet and have to turn my head away whenever anyone splashes, however I do need sunglasses otherwise I just squint but was able to wear the snorkle at DC and that was what prompted me to get them done.

They do all look very serious in that photo don't they.

Hopefully a ride on the Simpsons put a smile on their faces. :thumbsup2

Lovely first evening. :goodvibes

Congratulations on getting your eyes done, you're very brave ~ I'm far too much of a wimp and took the easy option of prescription sunglasses for the dolphin swim and used one of their prescription masks for the snorkelling. :rotfl:

Wish we had taken more photos around the pool at HRH.

Pool movie night and that drink look fun :goodvibes

That cocktail looks fab!

I loved our stay at the HRH. :thumbsup2
