The Sea Witch Stole My Voice! Our Two Week Land and Sea Adventure! COMPLETE 4/12

What's this no cruise report!! I think I can be patient but I'm not telling why!!!:rolleyes1

 There will be a cruise report, just not until I get back from BC. I was looking at what I have left to write and I still have the rest of this day at DHS and then a full day of Star Wars Weekend left. So with all that and only two weeks until I leave again I just don't see how I will get to the cruise before I get back at the start of Sept. :confused3

There was still quite a bit of time for Mom and I to kill before Lights, Motors, Action started so we decided to just wander around that end of the park and explore.

They had another Star Wars Weekends prop set-up early so I had to get my picture taken.

Don't I make a fierce storm trooper? :lmao:

I also spotted the Singing in the Rain umbrella.

We wandered down into the Muppets area where I admired the fountain.

It was getting close enough to show time that we figured we better head back and get in line, I also needed to get off my feet.

Well it was while we were in the queue that Mom and I had the immense "pleasure" of meeting the most negative girl on the planet. Mom has this need to strike up conservation with every stranger she meets so while we were waiting to get let into the seating area Mom started to chat with the girl next to her in line. Turns out she was Canadian and a recent graduate and had decided to take a solo trip down to WDW to celebrate. Well this girl proceeded to go on a huge rant about everything that was wrong with her local government, our national government and the world at large. Trying to steer her away from all the negative political talk we discussed our respective trips to WDW and she didn't have anything positive to say about that either. By this point I was wishing that they would let us into the seating area already so I could escape this girl. :headache: I can be a pretty negative person but wow this girl was ridiculous.

Eventually they did start to let us in and for a while she followed right behind us, I was afraid that she was going to try and sit with us during the show! :scared1: Thankfully we lost her in the crowd and Mom and I were able to grab some decent seats far far away from her.

Mom and I both thought the show was only "okay". Just not our cup of tea and we would not go out of our way to see it again unless we were traveling with somebody who wanted to see it. It was neat though seeing how some of the stunts are done.

It was crazy leaving that stadium, so many people all trying to get through the same exit.

Mom and I looked at the Times Guide and decided that we would hoof it over to Indiana Jones and catch the last show of the day. It was a gamble as the show was scheduled to start very soon so we were not sure that there would even be any seating left.

On the way over we saw these guys performing, didn't stop to listen though.

D6298.jpg

We did make it to Indy in time and were even able to get decent seats.

D6315.jpg

D6323.jpg

I still crack up remembering Erich's reaction to this show back in 07 when he thought that "Indy" had actually been hurt by the boulder. :lmao:

The show over I was very pleased with our park touring skills, we had accomplished what many find it so difficult to do, we had seen the three major shows in the park in one day. Well except for Playhouse Disney but I don't count that.

Our last set of fastpasses for Toy Story Mania was available to be used now so we went back to play one last time that day.

Well as I am sure you guessed, Mom whopped my butt again.

Coming up: Will the good weather hold or will we be rained out of Fantasmic for the second year in a row?

I enjoy all the shows at MGM but they have been there forever! I think that if they want to keep the park fresh for people they need to add new shows and change things up. Not everybody is willing to go see Beauty and the Beast and Indy a bazillion times. I am ready to see something new!

Gosh! I had a couple of days to catch up on! Ready for more now! Your pix of Beauty and the Beast are GREAT! I want to see that show when we go in Dec...never saw it yet!! Hope we can get great seats like those! LOL My first job was in an ice cream parlor also!!! I like my milkshakes with peanut butter swirl ice cream! I am very impressed that you got all those shows in one visit to DHS...another goal of mine for this trip!

I have been reading your TR and loving it. Your pictures are absolutely awesome. So clear and colorful. Thank you so much for sharing.

We've never seen a single show at DHS... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Good for you two! The balloon pics are cute! The girl sounds VERY annoying - glad you got away cleanly! :rotfl2:

I think we might cross each other - I head out on vacation tomorrow, and you go to BC whilst I'm still gone, I think. I'll try to read along, but my commenting may be lacking. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

You will get a good view no matter where you sit at Beauty and the Beast. We have sat at the back and still enjoyed the show. If you want seats up close plan to get there 30 minutes or so before the show starts.

Yum, peanut butter swirl.

Thanks! I love to take photos as you can probably tell ;) and I love to share them with you all. So glad that you are enjoying the report and pictures. :goodvibes

 Why does that not surprise me. ;) Maybe now that the boys are getting older you will have a chance to.

She really was, I was cursing Mom silently for starting a conversation with her.

Love the Storm Trooper pic!

Hey I like LMA. :rotfl: Guess I'm not your typical female. I like big action movies too.

I enjoy a good action movie as well, just not all that interested in how they make car chase scenes. ;) I did enjoy the part where they set the guy on fire.

After our ride on Toy Story we had pretty much done everything that we wanted to do in the park, all that was left was Fantasmic. It was still at least 2 hours before the first showing but we decided to go over and wait in line anyways. That way we would be assured a good seat of our choice.

When we arrived they were holding everybody back at the street, the CM's were telling everybody that the theatre would be opened at 7:30. Well the waiting crowd kept getting bigger and bigger so eventually they had to drop the rope and allow us all to move further into the stadium pathway to wait as we were all blocking the traffic out on the "street". It was crazy crowded but that is what I was expecting so was not surprised. While waiting to be let in we chatted with a family from Philadelphia, the father really wanted to see Fantasmic but the mother was not so sure that the wait was worth it. We chatted with them about how great the show was and about other things as well to pass the time.

D6376.jpg

Eventually the rope dropped and we were allowed to enter the stadium. I headed straight to the middle section, back row. These are the best seats in the house. If you don't believe me this is where they have the VIP seating. ;)

It was starting to sprinkle so we pulled on our ponchos and everybody in the stadium did the same. I was just hoping and praying that the show would not get canceled as we got rained out from seeing it last summer. We chatted with the family seated in the row in front of us. They were a young family from Ohio and this was their first trip. They had a bit of a problem as they only had 3 ponchos and there were four of them. I suggested that they should seat their youngest (around 5 years old she looked) on one of their laps under the poncho and she could use one of the arm flaps to put her head through and they still would both be completely covered. It worked like a charm and they were all covered when it started to pour.

The stadium was completely packed and we all continued to sit there in the pouring rain wearing our ponchos hoping that the rain would stop and the show would go on. Every ten minutes there would be an announcement welcoming us to Fantasmic, giving a countdown until showtime and then a warning that the show could be delayed or canceled due to inclement weather.

The rain continued to beat down, I was almost certain that the show was going to be canceled when magically the rain slowed to a drizzle 10 minutes before showtime. 9pm came and the show did not start, I was dreading the announcement saying it was canceled but lo and behold it was only delayed by 5 minutes! Hurray!

By the time the show started the rain had completely stopped so we were able to enjoy the show without the nasty rain putting a damper on things.

Being the complete girly girl that I am my favourite part of the show is the Princess montage. Here's a brief video I took.

Fantasmic -Princesses

Unfortunately there was a slight wind that night which sort of messed with the water screen effects but it did not detract from my enjoyment of the show. It is still my favourite nighttime show.

At the end of the show we asked the Ohio family how they liked it and they loved it! The mother said that she cried it was so good and they were so glad that they waited out the rain and stayed for the show. I asked the little boy what his favourite part was and his response was "When Mickey won!" :lmao: I thought for sure he was going to say the dragon as he kept asking me before the show if there was going to be a dragon.

We slowly exited the theatre and made our way towards the exit. I attempted a few night shots along the way.

It was so nice falling into bed that night. We had a great but long day and except for the end and a bit early in the day it was pretty much rain free! I set the alarm to go off early the next morning. It was going to be our last park day before leaving for the cruise and we were heading to opening day of Star Wars Weekends! The inner geek in me was very very excited.

I'm so glad you didn't get rained out of Fantasmic!! I won't be seeing it when I go. I just don't want to wait so long for good seats like that and then have my son potentially get scared or fussy and then I have to leave anyway! So maybe another time if I can go by myself or if it were still around when he's older!! But maybe they'll just keep all the shows in DHS forever since they know that's your favorite part of the park...the same shows! ;)

Great update. So glad to hear that despite the crowds and rain you still got to see Fantastmic. And I agree, the middle section back row. The first time I saw the show that's where I sat and it was a fantastic view. The CMs told us we had some of the best seats and indeed they were.

I was very relieved that the show went on. When the rain started to come down hard lots of people got up and left but I told Mom that I was determined to sit there and wait it out until the show started or until they announced that it was canceled.

I'm sure Fantasmic will be around for a long time, it is such a popular show! It can stay forever and I won't mind. ;) I hope that you get to see it someday, it really is fantastic! ;)

I was so happy that we got to see it, it is one of my fav things at WDW and I was heartbroken when we didn't get to see it last year. I think that if the show had been canceled I would have tried my best to get Mom to stick around in the park to see if the second show that night went on. That is how desperate I was to see it! :lmao:

I'm so glad you were able to see Fantasmic. The same thing happened to us on our last trip, but unfortunately they ended up cancelling it in the end, even though the rain was gone. Maybe we'll be able to catch it someday. The pics you took were great!!!

really enjoyed your pics, we skipped all the night shows last trip, cause parker was so good during the day that we eid not want to risk him getting cranky at night when the shows were going on that we just decided to leave before they started...so hopefully he will be good to see them next trip.

thanks for the show pics.

What a bummer. There was probably a storm in the distance. I read something once that said it will be canceled even if there is a storm some crazy distance away.

It was probably best that you did not press your luck traveling with a baby.

Cathcing up again, sorry, I can't wait to go back to Sci-Fi we really like it especially the Oreo milkshake
