Hey ladies . I got back from my trip last night & I missed you all. I sort of skimmed through the pages, but I know I missed a lot. It's good to see some planning going on. I'm flexible so whatever happens, it's all good to me.

Beth, Wendy & Deb- So sorry you won't be going in October. You will all be missed, but I totally understand why. If I wasn't local, I probably wouldn't be able to make it either.

Heather- Sorry to hear about your pregnancy :hug:. I know it's God's plan, but it doesn't make it any easier. I'm sending you tons of baby dust your way :wizard::wizard::wizard:. You are a great mother and deserve another gift in your life.

Dawn- Hope you had a fab time in San Francisco. Hugs and light to you .

Mel- Happy Belated birthday!!!! What a cute hubby you have. And congrats on the news of the new grandbaby :cloud9:.

I know I'm missing a whole lot, but hope everyone is well.

Just a few quick highlights from our trip:

-Wine tasting at some winery in Napa??? (can't remember the name)
-Sierra Nevada brewery in Chico. Boy beer really stinks when they are making it. It made me & DS sick :headache:.
-Burney Falls (what a beautiful waterfall). It was a large waterfall with a bunch of smaller waterfalls (I'll try to post a picture).
-I got eaten by mosquitos while camping.
-Jelly Belly factory tour (love me some jelly bellies).
-Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (it was fun, but definitely not Disney). But I did love that it was a mix between themepark & animals. We got to pet an elephant, feed giraffes, sea lions & dolphins, see white tigers & ride some rides.
-California Science Academy museum in San Francisco. This gots to be the BEST museum ever. It was so cool & I could have spent a few days there.
-Bubba Gumps & Ghiradella on Pier 39. I had a gift card for Bubbas or else we would have ate somewhere else.
-Pea Soup Andersons on the way home. My kids saw this on the food network and were excited to eat her. It was cute & the pea soup was good.
-Solvang for some danishes.

Well that was the jist was our trip. My grandma had a wonderful birthday & was so happy to have all of her kids, grandkids & great-grandkids there.

Thank you for the kind words about my DD, Tina.:flower3:

Beth, you will be proud of me - I am making a Pineapple Upside Down cake. I bought box of Duncan Hines, a can of pineapple rings and followed the instructions on the box. It's in the oven right now. It sure smells yummy. If it doesn't turn out good, I will have to spell out my prep steps one by one to see where I went wrong. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

We are having a lazy afternoon after running errands all day. Thank goodness it cooled down some here - high today was 88 - not bad.:thumbsup2

Hi Gals,
Trying to get caught up but you'll go way to fast for me. I have been very distracted with life, but log on when I can.

Linda, I always make that cake with fresh peaches when they are in season here. Like right about now, actually! Yum!

I really want to come to the trip. Maybe if I enter Heather's contest and win, that would give me the excuse that I need. Hmm....

Happy Bday to Mel and Courtney.

Allyson is drinking Slim Fast? She's skinny!

Last year, she wasn't having anything for breakfast so this is better than nothing. And it's got protein in it, which will hold her until lunch time. We're trying to figure out something for her for breakfast and this was the first thing to do. She doesn't like the Carnation Instant Breakfast stuff too much, but she will eat yogurt (like mom) so that may work as well. It just needs to be something quick, and a drink is easier because she can drink it on the way to school.

Onto a different topic, I found a Toy Story Midway Mania strategy guide on YouTube, just for you, Donna!!

Good Morning Everyone... it's a new week! And i hope it holds only good things for each of you:grouphug:
You always write such sweet things, I can't wait to meet you! Have a good week!

I cannot believe in just two short weeks from today the kids will be back in school. Boooooo!! I am dreading that. :sad2: Oh well.

I hate to see them go back. And my middle guy is starting Kindergarten he's so excited but I'm definitely not:( At least school doesn't start until Sept.8 here.

What a great trip, sounds fun!

Welcome back Katie! Thanks for the well wishes.

Stacie! Don't be helping Donna out, she'll make me look bad. I'm horrible at those games. :sad2:

I love the yogurt smoothies you can buy for a quick breakfast. They are not cheap though. Nothing beats a granola bar in my book. I eat one around 6 am and it holds me until I eat lunch around 12:30 (on a good day).

Hi Tracey!

Hey to everyone, have a blessed day.

Heather

Dawn, yes, I do get bummed out when they go back to school. There are some days when they are all bickering that I cannot wait for school to start, but when it actually does, it's so quiet in here and I miss them. :(

Stacie, wow, high school!! That will be Adam in two weeks. His first day of high school. I know he's nervous even though he won't admit it, and I'm worried for him. HS these days is so tough. They expect so much and some of those kids are scary looking!!!!! :scared1:

Katie, welcome back!! Sounds like a great trip. I love danishes in Solvang. Yum. Notice out of everything it's the danishes that stood out for me. :rotfl:

Tracey! You ARE coming on the trip. You said so in Vegas remember?? Or did that spiked frozen hot chocolate make you forget? lol Well, luckily I have witnesses. :rolleyes1

Stacie! Don't be helping Donna out, she'll make me look bad. I'm horrible at those games. :sad2:

Okay, it's for anyone who needs it! There was only 1 thing I didn't already know so hopefully it will help us all out!!

I know! Some kids are pretty scary looking!! But our kids will do fine, right? She is so excited that there will be kids her age at our October meet. Especially the boys... :rolleyes1 Should be a fun time! Maybe things will change for you, Beth, before then and you can come!!

Hey Girlies!
Just checking in before I head out the door to do my shopping for the first part of the week. Costco and Safeway today!

It's going to be a hot day here today--they're forcasting 100!! :scared1: I wish I couldgo to the beach, but it's just not in the schedule.

Hi everybody! Well my surgery isn't until tomorrow at 6am. As my family says I will be having a full remodel! Haven't been able to get on the board lately been tooo busy! Trying to get everything done before I can't lift more than 10 lbs for 3 months. We are going school shopping today and getting pedicures. I am on a lovely clear liquid diet today (ok I snuck 1 diet coke in this morning) and get to do all that lower prep stuff tonight. Will try to jump on again before bed. My daughter isn't handling it to well, she's 15 and a little emotional. Well I'm hoping to have more time on the boards after I get home from the hospital!:surfweb:

Patty

Good luck on your surgery.

Eek!!! :scared1: A life without bread is no life at all. :sad2:

No kidding!

Sounds like a great trip, Katie! Somebody was just telling me about Burney Falls this weekend. I hear it is beautiful there. I'd loveto see a pic.

Hello Dawn :wave2:

Good Morning Everyone... it's a new week! And i hope it holds only good things for each of you:grouphug:

KerrTggrrr.. Yeahhhhhh..You are BaCk!!! You were missed. In fact I even asked Donna about you a couple of months ago.:yay:

Hi Dawn :wave2:. You are always so positive. For me to be that positive on a cloudy Monday morning I really have to make a concious decision to do so!

Thanks for thinking of me. I am back for probably another 2 weeks or so, then will be MIA again (as work is expected to pick up again in late Aug/early Sept).

Today is the first day of school for DD14. And her first day of high school!! That's scary and fun all at the same time. She was nervous, but so excited!! Then she spilled a whole can of Slim Fast on her bedroom carpet! What a mess, I still haven't gotten it all cleaned up!!

WOW! It seems like schools are starting earlier & earlier every year!

-Pea Soup Andersons on the way home. My kids saw this on the food network and were excited to eat her. It was cute & the pea soup was good.
-Solvang for some danishes.

My DH  pea soup andersons! & I  danishes. Were they as good as I remember??

Onto a different topic, I found a Toy Story Midway Mania strategy guide on YouTube, just for you, Donna!!

Thanks for sharing! My DH & I have gotten the alien one & balloon one. The hardest by far are the jumping plates. That totally made me want to go activate our AP this weekend & not wait until Sept. Patience, Kerry, patience!

Oh, I hope so. That would be nice, but I won't be holding my breath. lol

Yikes try to stay cool running those errands. We have to keep a cooler in the van for transporting groceries back home. The store isn't far at all, but the van gets so hot everything would melt before we got home!

KerrrrrrrrrrrTggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrr.... yes ... a mindful act to be happy. Safe travels to You and come back sooN.

So i've been in the kitchen making allll kinds of wonderfuL things to take to my mother and father in law's this weekend. The house smells so yummmmmmY!! I made homemade spaghetti sauce and it's slow baking to get extra rich and thick. I have a smoked green chili and pork soup simmering. Also made some hummus. Tomorrow I will bake cookies and the next day some cupcakes for them.
My mom is so sweet she's going to go with us to help them pack, as they are moving.
I'm anticipating it will be hard with my mother in law's alzheimer's. So we leave on thursday and come home on monday night. I'm cooking and freezing so when I get there, meals will be easy to prepare for 5.

Katie.. if anyone deserved a really super great weekend, You did! I'm glad you had such a wonderful time. Wow.. a waterfall.. how magical.

That is the absolute truth. I love bread!

What a grand vacation!! I have been to that museum quite a few times with my kids for their 8th grade trips. It is alot of fun! Thanks for your well wishes! :goodvibes

Happy Bday to Mel and Courtney.
Thanks Tracey, and just to let you know.............you are coming on this trip. No excuses lady!!

Stacie, I undetstand completely about Alyson. When kids, especiallly girls are trying to get ready for school, time is of the essence. Last year, in the winter, Kaitlyn had hot chocolate for alot of her breakfasts. Not the best, but at least she got some milk into her. I used to always skip breakfast in HS, so I am not a good example to look up to. :rolleyes1

I love the yogurt smoothies you can buy for a quick breakfast. They are not cheap though. Nothing beats a granola bar in my book. I eat one around 6 am and it holds me until I eat lunch around 12:30 (on a good day).
My favorite breakfast is yogurt and homemade granola.

No one, and I mean no one, is as bad as I am.
Well, I am right there with you. I stink at Buzz and Midway, but I still think they are a blast.

WOW! It seems like schools are starting earlier & earlier every year!
They are they are! It seems like summers are so short now. Kaitlyn starts on Thursday. And my oldest grandson starts too. It is so sad, to see myn babies growing up so fast. :sad1:

Hmmm!! I can almost smell the cooking. :snooty:Yum!!

I pray for a good weekend with your in law's move. I know it will be hard. You are one smart lady, to work now, so you can rest better when you will need it later.
(Did you understand that gibberish?)

Hola back!

Wow! You go from lobster to sloppy joes.:rotfl: Gotta love the life of almost empty nesters..............Aye? (That was for Theresa and BC lover, Sorry I forgot your name. :rolleyes:I'm going to go look it up again).
