Dragging a grumpy DH back to the World ~ Single Digits!!

We are getting soooo close, I can hardly stand it anymore! Part of me is a little bummed since I still haven't found a full-time job but I seriously cannot wait to get out of here for a while!:banana: Is it just me or do the days seem to drag on and on now that we're so close? :confused3:laughing:

Wowwww---19 days?! I can't believe it. You must be so pumped and ready to go already. So what's the plan for the next 19 days? Do you have clothes picked out, do you have pins organized and ready to pack?

I have been trying not to pay too much attention to my tickets because counting down day by day is a very slow process, but when I checked this morning and saw that our October WDW trip was only 74 days away, that was definitely exciting

Did you ever get a definite answer about the Main Street Bakery cupcakes?

17 days, now!! :yay: Seriously, the time has FLOWN by. It's going to be here before I know it. I've been so busy w/ non-Disney life (gasp!!) Don't you hate when work and other issues get in the way of your Disney high? Psh, the nerve!! I have a lot of things going on between now and our trip. The most exciting thing is a Keith Urban concert!!! I have been looking forward to it F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!! I'm making a to-do list that seems to grow a mile each day. I'll hopefully post it today.

Wow, 74 days is really not all that long. It will be here before you know it. I haven't even had a chance to check out your PTR lately. I swear, I just want to lock myself in my office and only do DIS related things. Think anyone would notice? :rolleyes1

Well, sort of. No one is certain, but it sounds like they only sell them at the Confectionary on Main Street. Twinmom posted some really yummy looking ones they sell at DHS at Starring Rolls. I'll definitely be trying out those Butterfinger ones. YUM!!

WOO HOO!!!!! I can't wait for you to go!!!

I know, me too!!! :woohoo: I'll definitely be texting you updates, pictures and all that other fun stuff throughout our trip. Ooh, I am SO excited!!!!!

I can't wait either - don't tell Grumpy, but I'm going to ask him to ask the server for some straws and/or ketchup (and he knows NOTHING about the WCC antics) :lmao:

HA! I'm doing that to Aaron, too. He's going to be so confused. We both need to make sure to take lots of pictures/videos to document their reactions! :lmao:

Wow, that looks delish!

Mmm, it really is! Cheese just oozes out of it. So good! The best part is they are located right outside the Disney gates on Apoka-Vineland Road. You should try it!

We enjoyed CM breakfast last time (it was our only ADR!), so I booked it for our last morning. The other day, Grumpy (who has seen the ADR list and the trip plan at least 10 times!) says "we're not going to that Mickey's place for breakfast again, are we?". When I stopped laughing, I told him that we were and he was going to like it :rotfl2:

:rotfl: I love that your DH calls it, "that Mickey's place..." Aaron calls it that too. For some reason, he's just not too thrilled to be eating with Mickey. :confused3

Ooooh, how about Chefs de France? We loved the Patisserie and will be visiting there (probably as many times as possible) on our two Epcot days :thumbsup2

I've never been there before. What do you suggest trying? I'm open to trying new stuff this trip. Now Aaron...not so much.

Did you try the Dole Whip Float? Last time, I had a Dole Whip first - it was good, but it wasn't what I was expecting. Then, I figured out that what I actually wanted was the Dole Whip Float! So, I had that another day and it was wonderful :lovestruc

I've never tried one. I went with the Dole Whip and was underwhelmed. I'll definitely try the float this time before I entirely decide that I hate Dole Whips. What do they put in the float?

I think I gained ten pounds just from reading all you typed out :rotfl:

:rotfl2::lmao:

MK Bakery Cupcake -- DH loves these things!

Just wanted to tell you about the cupcakes at Starring Rolls at DHS. They are to die for. I have been dreaming about them. I got the butterfinger one which wasn't very good cold but after letting it warm up it was the best thing ever. I wish I had taken a picture darn it.

Found a picture........They are huge in real life

:worship:

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for posting that picture!! That Butterfinger cupcake looks SO good!!! Mmm...I can just taste it now. I'm DEFINITELY going to be getting one of those -- yum.

I know!!!!! :banana::yay::woohoo:

Well, maybe the job situation is for the best. Maybe it would've conflicted with your trip if you found one now and that would've stunk! But, I understand why you're bummed. Thank goodness you can drown your sorrows in all that WDW goodness!!

YES! The days are dragging lately -- and I've been busy. I don't get it? :confused3 I figure they will drag now, and then go REALLY fast when we're there. It always seems to be the case.

HA! I'm doing that to Aaron, too. He's going to be so confused. We both need to make sure to take lots of pictures/videos to document their reactions! :lmao:

Oh, I will do my best - of course, the pictures might be blurry and/or crooked as I'll be :lmao: at the time!

Mmm, it really is! Cheese just oozes out of it. So good! The best part is they are located right outside the Disney gates on Apoka-Vineland Road. You should try it!

That really does look yummalicious! We're not going off-site at all this trip - maybe next time if we ever go back.

:rotfl: I love that your DH calls it, "that Mickey's place..." Aaron calls it that too. For some reason, he's just not too thrilled to be eating with Mickey. :confused3

What is with our men?! :confused3

I've never been there before. What do you suggest trying? I'm open to trying new stuff this trip. Now Aaron...not so much.

I'd suggest trying anything you haven't done before :thumbsup2 We absolutely love French food, so Chefs de France was a natural choice for us. How about trying food from whichever pavilion interests you? :goodvibes

I've never tried one. I went with the Dole Whip and was underwhelmed. I'll definitely try the float this time before I entirely decide that I hate Dole Whips. What do they put in the float?

Ooooh, it's sooo good! It's the same Dole Whip stuff, BUT it's in a float with fresh pineapple juice! :woohoo:

Oh, I will do my best - of course, the pictures might be blurry and/or crooked as I'll be :lmao: at the time!
 Mine will probably look like I have the shakes, or something. It's going to be so funny!

Bummer! I hope you guys will be able to go back. Maybe Grumpy will fall in love with Disney this trip.:goodvibes

What is with our men?! :confused3
I know, right? They are just strange. :rolleyes1

I'd suggest trying anything you haven't done before :thumbsup2 We absolutely love French food, so Chefs de France was a natural choice for us. How about trying food from whichever pavilion interests you? :goodvibes
It's funny, b/c I've been to Epcot A LOT but we never really try new things there. This year, I really want to make an attempt at doing that.

Ooooh, it's sooo good! It's the same Dole Whip stuff, BUT it's in a float with fresh pineapple juice! :woohoo:
Mmm...that sounds delicious!!! I bet Aaron would love that, too. He's a huge fan of pineapple juice. I can't wait to try that!

Well, it's internet capable. However, I deactivated the internet connection b/c I never used it. I should reactivate it to do live updates! That would be fun. So glad to hear you'll be doing a live blog during your trips. I'm sure we'll appreciate it far more than those "other" people.

Don't those Butterfinger cupcakes look awesome? I can't wait to shove one of those in my face. Mmmm...so good! Wait, you mean you don't eat cupcakes for breakfast in real life? :rolleyes1 I get a box of those Sam's Club ones and they last me all week!:scared:

I think you are all set and ready to go!!!!!!!! I better be the first person you texy when you get there :) :) HAHA jk.....not really though HA!

17 more days... ahhh you're almost 2 weeks away! lol

Dude Tim and I are so trying one of those butterfinger cupcakes lol.

Haha! I'll definitely make sure you're one of the first people I text. None of my real world friends understand my love of Disney. When I text them pics they could care less....losers! :sad2: I CANNOT wait until we pull up to the WL. It's going to be so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

I know!!!!! I can't believe it's just two weeks. I am SO ready for Disney!!! I just hope the crowds aren't crazy. :goodvibes

Don't those look amazing? My was doing some serious drooling when I saw that pictures. Mmm...yum!!!

Your packing list looks good! I should probably start making mine since we are only 2 WEEKS AWAY!!! All I know is that I am going to be bringing tons of shirts with me. :rotfl:

Geeze, your list looks good girl! Here's something I recommend packing: hand sanitizer. You can get them in a mini travel size, which is perfect for your bag at the parks. We used it all the time before eating.

OOOH yeah.. get a hand sanitizer!!! Definitely. You can get them at Target for like dollar, the travel sizes.

HOLY CRAP...we leave NEXT week!!!!!!! :woohoo::yay::dance3: Have you started packing yet? I have stuff set aside, but Aaron thinks I'm crazy for packing so far in advanced. I love to pack!

Ha, thanks! I might have borrowed that awesome list from All Ears for some inspiration. In the past, I've always forgotten stuff that I just borrowed from my sister or mom. Since its just Aaron and me going I know I need to be more organized.

Thanks for the hand sanitizer tip -- very smart!

Yeah! I'm going to head to Target sometime this week and pickup all my trip stuff. I love shopping for travel stuff. I seriously get so excited over it. Haha, I'm so lame.

What is it now - 13 days??

12 days!!!!!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

I seriously can't believe it's almost here. I'm getting SO excited!!!!!

Ugh, I'm so jealous....12 days. :yay:

I hope you guys have a great trip and let us hear all about it when you get home. I used to hate reading through TRs, but now that I have found some really good ones---I have found them to be the perfect way to pass the next 64 days or so until our weekend trip in October. :thumbsup2

It's official...well, sort of. We're going to spend a day at Universal/Islands of Adventure!! We were debating whether we wanted to spend the money on tickets. But, we figured we might as well since we're not sure if this might be our last vacation together before we have kids (hopefully not, but you never know). Now, all I need to do is buy our tickets to make it official.

I found this thread about discounted Universal tickets through Ticketmaster. If that doesn't work, we'll just buy them off the Universal site. The TM offer would save us about $30+ -- not too bad. Either way, I'm excited about going.

Since we have officially decided to go, we'll need to make some changes to our itinerary. Aaron wants to have one day where we don't do anything. So, here's our new and improved itinerary.

Sunday, August 23
Arrive MCO at 1:50pm
Stop by Wal-Mart or Publix to get some snacks, water, Diet Coke (for Aaron)
Check-in to VWL
Get settled in room
Take boat over to MK -- I'm hoping we get there by 5:30-6pm.
Spend evening at MK (they're open until 1am)

Monday, August 24
AM -- Epcot
PM – DHS (evening EMH)

Tuesday, August 25
AM – AK
PM – DHS
ADRs – Boma (breakfast, 7:35am), Whispering Canyon Café (dinner, 9pm)

Wednesday, August 26
AM - AK
PM - MK

Thursday, August 27
Breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Swimming and exploring WL
DTD
Outlet Mall -- I LOVE the Disney store there!!
Sweet Tomatoes!!

Friday, August 28
Move to POP
Universal/Islands of Adventure
Dinner at Carrabba's

Saturday, August 29
We have to be at MCO by 8am. SAD!!!

I'm getting so anxious. I'm so ready for a vacation. I've just been dragging here lately. Blah!! I'm going to make sure to take a little notebook (stole this idea of tinkgurl) with me to jot down details for my TR. I've never done a TR before and I know I'll forget everything by the time I get home.

You know, I never really was a fan of TRs either but now I've gotten sucked in. I love to live vicariously through everyone else. So fun!

Now I'm debating on whether I should switch Wednesday and Thursday's plans around:

Wednesday, August 26
AM - AK
PM - MK

Thursday, August 27
Breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Swimming and exploring WL
DTD
Outlet Mall -- I LOVE the Disney store there!!
Sweet Tomatoes!!

I think a break in the middle of the week might be beneficial for Aaron. However, that goes against Tour Guide Mike's advice. Do you think the parks will be really crowded on Thursday? Touring Plans recommends avoiding MK on Thursday. Hmm...what to do?
