Hi girls! I woke up this morning with a backache! Ugh! :headache:

Today is officially anniversary for DBF and I. I ended up buying him a chain necklace at Kohl's. He has a ring I bought him a couple years ago and he's been wearing it on a chain, so I bought him a nicer one. If any of you have a Kohl's near you, go check it out today. They're having a killer sale. The chain I bought him was originally priced for $80 and I ended up paying $14!! :yay: And it's sterling silver!!

So glad you had a nice time with Bridgette.:cutie:
We really enjoyed meeting her and hanging out for several hours on her birthday last month. She fits right in with us.:) Enjoy your reading Miss Courtney!

Hi Linda! She is so sweet. I'm glad she fits in, I hope I do too! :cool2:

PM sent to fill you in...ie the Cliffs Notes.

steph

You're the best, Steph! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad you two had a nice time together. Have I mentioned how sad I am that no Divas live near me?

:sad2: We need to get someone to volunteer to move near you!

Courtney.. I'm so glad you and bridgette had a happy time! I can't wait to
meet you too.

I can't wait to meet you either, Dawn!

drive-by hi! can't believe the new thread is at 5 pages already!

OK, I may have overdone it here with the multi-quote. Copied them from the previous thread too, but here goes...

General
Just trying to keep things updated. Can you take a peek and if there need to be any changes made to the roomie list, will you please let me know. Also if I've missed anyone let me know and I'll add you. Thanks!!! ...
Roomie Group 13 (looking for 1 more roomie)
Kerry
Erin (part of the time)

This is right for me!

Oh and Costco still had Deluxe tickets for 269.00 today. Get them while you can, before they get wise and raise the price!!!

FYI - I talked to the guy at Costco when I bought my DS & her family passes last week. Apparently they are only going to have this offer until they run out of passes or 08/23/09. Whichever comes first...

I understand that many of you have done tours already, I'm a newbie and will be happy with any tour since it will be my only trip without kids for quite awhile. Any other newbies have ideas on tours you may want to do? I see that a few of you are ride wimps, who will go on the thrill rides with me?

I will be going on the Segway tour this time. Trying to talk my friend Erin into going on this too. We both have already done WIWF (is a great tour though).

Not all of us are ride wimps. Tracey, Deb & I stayed late one night & went on only the fast rides - i.e. TOT, Screamin, Space, Indy, Thunder, etc.

By evil gondolas, do you mean the Sun Wheel, or whatever the heck it's called now?? I HATE that ride!!!
I am totally with Mel--everything but the swinging gondolas of death.

OK, I take back what I just said about myself not being a ride wimp. Mickey's Fun Wheel scares the bee-geebus out of me! I almost came off the seat of the swinging gondola once and became very friendly with a teenage couple sitting opposite my DH & me. I'll go on the stationary ones, but not swinging. And "swinging gondolas of death" is a perfect description of that ride!!!!:rotfl2:

Actually I have never done Maliboomer either. Don't really want too, but I guess I would..... I guess. :rolleyes1

My DH says Maliboomer is worse. Personally, I find it kinda funny because they only do it once and you kinda bounce down. But on TOT, you never really catch your breath.

1st Night Activities & PFF
theresa.. me too! i bought stuff to make individual candy bags like last year... i haven't bought candy yet,of course ..i've just found pirate suprises to go with the candy. can't tell how happy i am about the trip. and if they don't do a candy bar.. oh well then we have little treats.

OOhh! I hope they do the candy bar again. I showed up too late last time (both to the thread & the party) to fully take part in the candy bar & bag swap. Though there was a LOT of candy left when I showed up.

As far as all of us getting together in one place for dinner.................how about we just make it the night of our opener? Most of us made it there last year. It is basically pretty cheap for all to attend, and nobody has to feel the pressure of an expensive meal later on.
Just a thought, and you guys can flame me if you want. Be nice though. :rolleyes1
I am 100% doing PFF again, followed by a group ride on IASW. :thumbsup2 Think Friday morning will work again?
PFF was so much fun. Plus, it just makes a darn good group picture. I really hope we get to do that again. :thumbsup2

No flaming - I'm good with this. I think by the time we are all in park-mode it's going to be hard to get everyone together for a meal. I do still like the ideas of meeting for pictures and then heading straight to a ride together (like PFF then Small World). It was cool last time how we ended up taking over ~4 Small World boats with Divas! Friday morning would be good for me!

Don't put too much pressure on us. I would hate to disappoint anyone if its a let down.

No pressure. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be lots of fun. I think most of us are just excited at that point to be on the trip, see people again, meet new people and have fun to kick off the activities!!

Dining Options (my opinion)
As for the dinner I would much rather go to Napa Rose than Goofy's. IMHO Goofy's is okay, but if I can have NR instead there is no competition!
I remember, Dawn.:) Any mention of NR always perks up my ears.

Me too! Me too! Love Napa Rose! Any excuse I can make to go there I will do it. Just have to talk my friend into this too. Maybe I can convice her to save her Disney gift cards I've been getting her as birthday & Christmas gifts for it.

I want to go to Cove Bar! I loved it there. Last time was the first time I'd ever been. Prior to that, I didn't even know it was there! lol
The Cove Bar was a nice way the end mine and Sarahs weekend since we left for home right after. Lets do it again !

Me too! Me too! (do you see a theme yet? :) ) I've not been to the Cove Bar & everyone raved about it last time.

I'm just wondering if anyone is even interested in still going to Goofy's for dinner. We still have plenty of time to change that if we want to. I was thinking if no one is still interested (and nobody has said they still are.......), maybe a character breakfast would be a better idea on that day and then whatever for dinner............... I personally am not a fan of Goofy's for dinner, but I would go if that's what the majority still wants to do - but it seems like a lot of people are going to Napa Rose instead.
I think the problem was just some confusion. I got more than one PM from some who were confused because they thought that Goofy's was going to be the one meal that we all went to since that was what won in the vote. Like Chip and Dale last year, and Goofy's for breakfast the year prior. Then some people were saying they didn't want to do it, so the confusion I guess was over whether or not there would be one big group meal. Does that make sense? That's how I took it anyway.

Sorry we keep changing/having so many other opinions, Beth. I think with this big of a group it's really hard to please even a majority of the people all the time. You've been doing a great job even though you say you are "not into it" this year.

Personally, I don't like doing character meals except with my family & friends with children. I like seeing the characters, but the $$ difference for the food you get is huge!

Still haven't eaten dinner yet, and all I can think about is a Corn Dog on Main St.

Me too! Me too!! That is probably one of my favorite things at DL! And you get a discount with the AP, so even better!

Random
Aww, thanks. It's ok. It was a thread on the Budget board about saving money and someone mentioned Oriental Trading for cheap party supplies, and I asked about returning items to them, and no one answered. No biggie I guess.

I've returned stuff to OT before. They actually have really good customer service!!

Oooh, I REALLY want to do the PFF again (well, first time for me!!) this upcoming trip!!! My friend Donna and I totally missed it because of dang Peter Pan :sad2: We had our tiaras ready to go and everything, then the freakin ride breaks down JUST as we were next up to get on board............ Note to self....... Do not stop for Peter Pan ride on the way to Princess Fantasy Faire, do not do it!!

Did you hear that they remodeled PP for efficiency? That is a long time coming!!

I had 1 drink at dinner, and geez, I'm wiped out! I'm going to get ready for bed and go ready Harry Potter.

Just saw the #6 movie last night with DH! Was the best one yet!!!

That happened to Breezy at the pizza party too??!! I had no idea. I thought I was the only lucky one to experience the flicking of the toenail pieces!

I also loved the pizza party (despite the toenail flicking). It was also one of my favorite things during the entire trip. And the scavenger hunt was a lot of fun too.....tiring but a lot of fun. :yay::woohoo::yay:

Yeah--just wait till you see what the Scavvy Hunt committee is going to do to you THIS YEAR (bwahahahahahaha)

And ixnay on the toenail flicking-ay!! (shudder)

How about a late-ish breakfast at RBT on Saturday. Say, maybe around 10:00. That way those who want to enjoy the morning in the park, collecting FPs, etc. can do that, and those who want to sleep in, can do so also.

Or another thought is do it Fri--PFF, IASW and then on to RBT. (Is that enough initials?) I just don't want to slow anyone down with a big breakfast right before the Scavenger Hunt.

I love TLA (Three Letter Acronyms), so you are fine!!

My DH just went and checked out Mailbox (we have one at a local mail service place), and guess what I got?!?!? My tye-dye shirt from etsy!! It turned out awesome! It's a brown mickey head on the front & pink tye-dye all around. If anyone else is going to order these, just a word of advice - they run a little small. Not like a size smaller, just a little on the small side for t-shirts.

Getting excited. Any ideas yet on this year's Diva logo for the shirts?

Thank you for the kind words about my DD, Tina.:flower3:

Beth, you will be proud of me - I am making a Pineapple Upside Down cake. I bought box of Duncan Hines, a can of pineapple rings and followed the instructions on the box. It's in the oven right now. It sure smells yummy. If it doesn't turn out good, I will have to spell out my prep steps one by one to see where I went wrong. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

We are having a lazy afternoon after running errands all day. Thank goodness it cooled down some here - high today was 88 - not bad.:thumbsup2

I agree! Pizza party and scavenger Hunt were my faves last year....that and going ride crazy with about 9 lovely ladies one night!

RIGHT - the HOB gospel breakfast!
One group is doing the Segway and another could do a breakfast. We might have to take a vote on that to see how many are interested. Great reminder, Capri!:thumbsup2

I would be up for the HOB meal!

I called today to get the info.

The gospel brunch is Sunday at 10 and 12:30. It's $38 per person which includes tax and tip. The menu is awesome and can be found here: http://www.houseofblues.com/venues/clubvenues/anaheim/gospelbrunch.php

They have tables that will fit a group of 14. If we need more than that, you have to go through their events planner, but it can be done.
The only potential problem I see is when you call to reserve it, you are reserving an assigned seat at a table. So the entire group needs to be booked at once.

Meaning, if we called in and made our reservations separately, we would not be guaranteed to sit near each other. It's just like booking show tickets, since you are reserving assigned seats, you want to book them all at once she said.

You have to pay at the time of booking which means one person would have to put the entire reservation of how ever many want to go x $38 on their credit card. Ummmm, not sure who here could do that. I know I cannot afford to.

Anyway, just wanted to pass along the info I gathered today. It sounds nice. Just not sure how we'd make the reservation......... :confused3

I wouldn't mind being the one to make the ressie!

Good Morning all!

Wish I could say I enjoyed the walk down memory lane last night. Capri's account of it did make me laugh, but visuals left me .

I love the idea of the Gospel lunch, but see the problem with the reservations. Also, I need to get crackalackin on doing something about Club 33 seats. I have a few spots that I want to do a contest for. I'm not sure people are going to want to miss the HOB brunch though, so we might have to change the day time for that. Anyway, I'll start thinking about what I want to do, so that we can vote, and get that firmed up on the schedule.

I hope I don't miss the contest this year! Last year I missed it due to work and I was SOOOOOO bummed because I love trivia stuff!

How about a late-ish breakfast at RBT on Saturday. Say, maybe around 10:00. That way those who want to enjoy the morning in the park, collecting FPs, etc. can do that, and those who want to sleep in, can do so also.

I would love to do RBT! This sounds like a great plan, but almost any morning (that there isn't something else already planned!) would be great for me!

I know there was something else I wanted to say but I can't think of it for the life of me! Hmmmm.

Anyway, guess where I am....I will give you a hint....it is not at DL.

Sarah

Sarah, you poor thing, you are always at work!

I hope we can fit RBT breakfast into the plans, too. Maybe either after the PPF/Small World or before the SH. It's counter service, right? So, those who aren't big morning eaters or eat in the room could just get some juice, coffee or fruit and we could still all be together. :)

My cake came out HEAVENLY! DH & I have been sneaking bites for the last half hour. We are ruining our dinner! It really is good, though.:lovestruc

That could work. Depending on what time the Scavenger Hunt is. We don't want to rush right from breakfast to running around the park, kwim?

Ugh, why does it have to be so hard to fit it all in??? Maybe we need to extend the trip even more. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Hi girls! I woke up this morning with a backache! Ugh! :headache:

Today is officially anniversary for DBF and I.
First off, sorry about the backache. Those can be misery! And happy, happy anniversary to you and your DBF. And don't you even worry for a second about fitting in. We love you already! :goodvibes

drive-by hi! can't believe the new thread is at 5 pages already!
Hi Cheryl. How's your weekend going? How late were you up farming last night? lol

Oh no need to be sorry. It is always a challenge to make it work for everyone and fit it all in. But we'll get there! We did last year. :thumbsup2
And it's not that I'm not into it per se, it just seems sooooo far away right now. Boo hoo.

Here you go:

Oooooooh, I love that. It looks perfect and those colors are going to be great on you! ::yes::

Sarah, are you SURE? Think it over first. It's so nice of you to offer, but remember if we get 14 people to sign up, that's 14 x $38 that you'd have to front. And then if more than 14 sign up, you will have to contact their special events planner and work with her. It's a big responsibility time wise and financially. Not that you won't be reimbursed but you know what I mean.

I just saw this. You must have been posting while I was. lol Anyway, YAY for your perfect cake!! I knew you could do it. Now watch, you'll be baking all the time and we'll have to get you one of those cute little aprons. ;)

I really hope RBT works out! I have NEVER had a Mickey pancake. Never. I've lived a deprived life. I guess what we should do is decide once we know what time RBT opens versus what time PFF opens. It would be nice if we could enjoy a laid back breakfast there, and then mosey on over to PFF. Hopefully the timing for that would work out.

I gotta say, I am just loving the looks of Kerry's tee! :goodvibes Who else is planning to order one of those from etsy?
And Kerry, did they have more of scoop neck? That one looks like a crew neck in the pic. Is it?

I understand what you are saying. As far as financially, it's no big deal. I should be working this overtime for something! As far as time. I have been working with the group department for Cafe Orleans and it hasn't been too bad. I can't imagine it would be much worse for the breakfast. We would just have to have an exact count before ordering and people would need to be sure it was something they were going to do. I feel bad for not helping with more of the reservations and things last year and would love to be able to do something this year. However, I suppose we could wait till it gets a lot closer and then see if I still feel the same. I'm good with that if you are.

No worries....more money for travel, he he. Actually not yet, but it does help get our "what if" savings account up there. We have an account that we are trying to get 3-6 months worth of expenses in in case something were to happen to us....both of us unemployed, major injury, etc. We also have an emergency fund in case something happens to the car or house or something. Then I need to start putting away for a new house and then I can start saving more for travel. Whew, sounds like a long way off but with all the overtime I am getting it is growing rapidly...knock on wood!

Sarah

P.S. Congrats on the cake...it is such a good feeling when something turns out well, huh?!

She only had the one as the one she provides. But she was open to me sending one to her as long as it met specific guidelines (don't remember, but I think it was like 100% cotton & white).

Hello, Ladies! I popped in a few months ago when I was considering this trip as an alternative if I could not get my family excited about taking a DL trip this year. Well DH decided to attend a convention in Anaheim so we are going ahead with our trip in December. I am really excited to be planning a trip with DH and my two DS’s (17 and 29) but I kept thinking how fun it would go with the Divas. After looking at all of the planning on this new thread, I thought “why not do both?” So I brought it up with DH and he seemed okay with it! I’m still not 100% sure that I will go but I am going to jump in and plan as if I am going.

So I want to introduce myself. My family: Me :hippie:, DH pirate:, the aforementioned DS’s :music: :drinking1, and DD :cloud9:, new mother of my first grandchild (2 months today). Oh yeah, don't forget :cat:. We live in Oregon near Portland but are from Arizona. I am an accountant and therefore need to come home on Sunday 2/28 (month-end :badpc: ) and would be interested in sharing a room at HOJO. I promise as a newbie Diva to behave appropriately (no toenail flicking, etc). The activities look great and I am looking forward to meeting everyone!

LOL! Sounds good! Welcome aboard Carol! Hope you like it here. Don't tell anyone, but I am not 100% either. In my heart I am, but I have to wait until my leave from work actually gets approved before I can say with 100% certainty that I am going. I would be 99% sure but I work in an industry directly affected by the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and while I have heard they are not planning on banning time off during the olympics I will have to see it before I believe it! (Don't worry roomies, my supervisor said I should be good to go....I just have this thing about counting chickens and all....after all I was on the "Don't be Cheekin'" group in the SH last year!) Wow, I am really ramblin....darn caffine!

Sarah

I'm going to Disneyland tomorrow, all by myself. I'm really looking forward to doing what I want when I want and eating where I want !
When the kids were little I always told myself that one day I would go alone and tomorrows the day !!!:yay:
