Bringing Mom to WDW for MY bday, Sept '09! Day 4 Part 1..AK and Tusker House 12/30!

Cool! Just be careful of the binding. It may catch on your backpack/purse.

I have found that little journals with no metal binding really lay flat and doesn't take up too much room.

Though, the journal is the cutest!!! :goodvibes

I knowww! :( That thought definitely crossed my mind before I bought it but I usually have bags big enough that there's enough room and things don't get stuck/caught. I have had small spiral journals in my purse before and haven't had too much problem. I'm crossing my fingers this stays the same!

The journal is really cute! I haven't decided if I'm going to keep a journal or not. I may bring my laptop to upload pics now and then so maybe I'll keep it on there.

I'm in!!!! All caught up! I take it your friend Lisa with the baby is the girl who got married in your last TR? How lovely!!!

Your plans sound great. You and your Mum will have a fantastic time.

What a cute journel!! I'm doing the same thing and I looked everywhere for a cute one, of course couldn't find one so I found a notebook for 15 cents and bought some stickers to put on it. So that will have to do!! Anyway, I really like it!!

Thanks! I'm also bringing my laptop and I know I type a LOT faster than I can write so I might have to switch over. Or maybe just make bullet points with names/key points in the journal so I can remember details for when I actually type it out, ya know? I did that for my trip to Sicily and it was great!

Yes!! Lisa with the baby is the same Lisa that got married at Disney :) He's officially a Disney baby and will never be a Sesame Street/Looney Tunes Baby... all his clothes...all his room...everything Disney. he's taking his first trip there in December. :) I can not wait to see the photos of him and the characters!

Sweet purchase on a 15 cent notebook! My problem is when I'm bored at work I tend to spend money I really don't need to! :confused3

That's a great notebook! I feel like all they have is HSM and Hannah Montana stuff anymore :upsidedow

Ugh! I'm avoiding the HSM and HM stuff at MGM like the plague! :( Enough already!

OK guys.... I need some help/ideas/suggestions/all that good stuff in regards to the quickest forms of transportation to and from a few locations (mostly from POFQ to other hotels). Most of these are before park opening (8am breakfasts usually). So here's what I have so far:

POFQ to the GF: take bus to MK and either monorail or boat it over to GF
POFQ to the Contemporary: take bus to MK and either monorail or walk it over to Contemp
POFQ to the Boardwalk: here's where I'm a little lost.... bus it over to Epcot and then..? Someone mentioned a boat from Epcot to Boardwalk? Where do I get the boat? I can't walk through the park b/c it's 8am. Bus?
DHS to Boardwalk: bus directly?
POFQ to Poly: bus to MK and then monorail or boat to Poly

Thanks for any help guys! :)

POFQ to GF: As far as I know, you've listed the only ways to get to a monorail resort from a non-monorail resort.
POFQ to Contemporary: walk would probably be quicker
POFQ to Boardwalk: A boat goes from the International Gateway to Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach Club, and DHS. I'm not sure about this one since it's before park opening. Otherwise I would suggest bus to EPCOT, go through Future World to the International Gateway (it's by England IIRC), then take a boat (aka FriendShip) to Boardwalk.
DHS to Boardwalk: Take the FriendShip from DHS to Boardwalk.
POFQ to Poly: bus to MK then monorail is how I'm getting there

For your breakfast at Boardwalk, I'd take a cab. We took cabs from POFQ a couple times and it was around $15 including tip. From DHS to Boardwalk you could take the bus or the boat. We took the boat a few times and its a nice, relaxing ride. Your plans for visiting the monorail resorts are good!

Personally if all else fails go to DTD because the first stop is the easiest transfer (IMO) to any other hotel.

Thanks guys! All great ideas :) I have them all written down in my planner lol

WOOHOO!! Woke up this morning and for some reason got the urge to check my flights again.... AND THEY WENT DOWN ANOTHER $25 EACH!! So I officially have a $90 credit (45 from each flight) that I can use towards a future flight. :) Why have I NOT flown JetBlue sooner? :):banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::dance3::cheer2:

Very cool!!!!

I'm still checking around and hoping it goes down a bit. Of course, f I stall too much, I'll end up with my resort situation! :lmao:

Just saw these and wanted to clarify on a couple of other suggestions.

From POFQ to the Boardwalk, you can only take the boat from the IG in Epcot if the park is already open (which based on your post, at 8:00am it won't be). If the park isn't open yet, there's no way to get from the main entrance in FW to the Boardwalk by boat or walking and there is no bus that runs from the Boardwalk to Epcot. I think in this situation, just taking a cab from POFQ to the Boardwalk would be easiest and maybe only like $10-$15.

From DHS to the Boardwalk, the Friendship boats can sometimes take a VERY long time. If you have to wait, it could be 10 minutes or so. Then the boat ride is slow (but relaxing) and makes a few stops before the final stop at the Boardwalk. If you are in a rush and taking the boat, I'd probably get off at the Swan/Dolphin stop and walk across the bridge to the Boardwalk. Another option for DHS to the Boardwalk is a 10-15 minute walk. I don't know if DM will be with you for this ADR and whether she can do much walking---but DHS is within walking distance of the Boardwalk and oftentimes it is faster to walk than to wait for the boat. If you are in a rush, I'd walk. If you give yourself at least 30 minutes to get there, I'd enjoy the boat ride. It's a nice ride, even if it is a little long.

Good luck!

Always nice to get more credit! I check mine every week or two, but I don't think they're going down any further than $99 each way. Racked up about $140 in Southwest credit though; I think DD and I are going to fly to New Orleans in November for a wedding she's the flower girl in. DW will either be about to have or will have had DS so she'll be staying home.

Thank youu! :worship: I think for the Boardwalk breakfast we will be taking a cab. Not a problem for the $15. For DHS to Boardwalk we don't mind doing either. I'll see how mom feels when we're ready for dinner. I'll also make sure to leave plenty of time for the boat if we go that route! Thanks again!

Uhoh....I have to go catch up on your resort situation but I totally know the waiting game can bite me back in the butt! It did originally when I was looking for flights! Ugh!

Don't you just love having the credit? I'm either going to use it for my trip in january or there has been talk about a 3 night trip to Puerto Rico with some friends. Hmmmm! Decisions decisions!

Price drop... AGAIN?!?!

Is it just an overall credit or do you have to use it per ticket?

Overall credit since they were both paid on the same transaction. So since I paid I get all the credit put on my account :) woohoo! I'm sure if my mom had a TrueBlue account I could ask them to split it two ways.
