Pushchair areas?? How secure??

Hi it's our 1st time to DLRP in just under 3 weeks. My little one is 4 and a half and will not cope with all the walking even though he's been pushchairless for a year now, so we are taking the pushchair to make it easier for all of us.

I just wondered if anyone knows if there are pushchair areas for each ride and if they are secure or not??

Was thinking of getting a cheap bike lock to lock it up when we're on the rides- don't know if this is a bit extream or not?? Don't know what experiances people have had leaving them around the parks.

I wouldn't say the area is secure, there's usually a cast member close by. I would think your own pushchair is more likely to stay put than a hired one (just going by our experience of hired pushchairs), but don't quote me on that.
I have seen other pushchairs locked to railings or each other I don't think it's extreme, after the number of times our hired one went missing it's something I'd consider if I were ever taking a little one again. It's all very well saying you can get another one free of charge but there are only so many times I want to walk all the way back down Main Street to pick up yet another buggy.

Not secure at all would be the answer but I think genuine problems with them going missing rather than just being tidied up a bit by the Cms are rare. We've never had any problems. I probably wouldn't take an expensive buggy though.

When we took my niece we just left the pushchair with all the others & had no problems. It wasn't an expensive on so if someone wanted to nick it good luck to them

i have heard of a couple of people whose buggies went missing but what i tend to do is look for a group of expensive buggies and put my mac claren in between them lol

Pushchair areas are not secure and usually just left outside the entrance to a ride. Alternatively you could hire one of the DLP ones which are good. We took a bicycle lock as you suggest. Or tie what appears to be a used nappy sack with nappy in it - that should put most off

We took our old battered one in December and tended to put it next to something much more expensive! I was amazed to see people leaving £500+ Quinnys and Bugaboos unsecured! We left a bag of food and the blanket on it and tended to put the raincover on as it kept raining! The areas aren't at all secure and I have heard of people having their buggys stolen, I would take a bike lock with you or hire a buggy out there.

I wouldn't leave any other bags or bags of shopping on it though.

Thank you for all your replies- Our push chair isn't a dead expensive one but it's not a cheap one either and would hate for it to go visiting DLRP with a different family instead of with us

On our 2 trips neither myself or my sister had ours stolen and I didnt notice anyone else who had either. We didnt lock them up and didnt see anyone else locking theirs

I think youll be fine as long as you dont leave bags in it

We've never had our own pushchair taken, but we have "lost" a DLP one...

If you're really worried about it then take a bike lock. Just keep in mind when parking your pushchair that CM's do occasionally have to move pushchairs, so make sure you can park it in the official parking place before locking it up to try to reduce any problems.

We were paranoid about this on our first visit, and would take turns with one of us 'watching' the buggy whilst the other went on the ride. By our third day, we decided to just park it along with all the others, and had no problem.

Have been 5 times now and never had a problem. Sometimes the CM's tidy up a bit and re-arrange the buggies, obviously some people will be coming off the ride as you're going on, so they can get in a bit of a muddle.

From my experience, it should be fine. But then again, I'd hate to say it'd be fine and then something happened.........

I would take a bike lock if I were you, the last time we went our hired buggy got swiped, even though we made a fancy name sheet for the back of it - very very annoying. However it was only a hired buggy and the people gave us another one after going back and telling them what had happened.

You wouldn't want that to happen to your own pushchair though, so just to be safe I'd go with the bike lock.

Hi, we left our Buggy everywhere and it wasn't taken, but had a bag of DS's toys stolen from underneath it I was seething.......what a horrible thing to do to a child, especially at Disneyland

A deposit of € 150 is required if you wish to take the pushchair/stroller out of a park into the resort area. This includes moving from park to park.

So could you leave the buggy in the park, go to the studios and then get the same buggy when you get back into the park or would that be another hire?

I suppose you could just leave it somewhere in the park and hope it's there when you get back!

In june rental was 7.50 a day and deposit is 75euro, it had been 150euro when we were der in jan alright.
