Unbenown to me my Mum and Dad went to DLRP for the weekend last weekend...needless to say I'm not happy that they didn't invite us

Back on topic my Dad made a list of attraction closing times on a Saturday in July

The Nautilus : 5.30pm
Honey I Shrunk the Audience: 6pm
Riverboat: 6pm
River Rogue Keelboats: 7pm
Story Book Land: 7pm
Casey Junior: 7pm
Alice's Labyrinth: 7pm
Snow White: 6pm
Pinnochio's: Opened at 3pm :confused3 Closed at 10pm
Autopia: 9pm
Star Tours: 10pm
Swiss Robinson Tree: 10pm

I've just worked out that this actually means that on a Saturday in peak time there are only 15 attractions open from 7pm and from 10pm there are only 5.

Considering this is the main holiday season needless to say we were shocked by this!

We found that when we were there last week, only Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse was closed every day (including Saturday/Sunday 25/26th July) at 7pm not 10pm. Also Phantom Manor closed at 10pm every night as well, add them to the lands that close at 10pm for getting the firework display ready and you can see why everyone decided to sit and wait for the parades making the parade route very busy indeed.

There would be big trouble if my parents went without telling me!

Some of those listed I can understand, but Snow White at 6pm? As long as Pirates of the Caribbean and Stitch were open to a decent hour I'd be ok1

Not good to hear :sad2:

and cap'n ~ fancy not inviting you along!

To be slightly fair to them they actually went about 40 miles East of DLRP and popped over for the afternoon on the Saturday and Sunday...still not fair though...I did make them feel very guilty last night for going without thier Grandchildren :goodvibes

thats awful both that you didnt get to go and the closing times

i am getting worried about my november trip, if they close that early in peak times what will they do then?

Hi.
We're going Sept 1st this year and according to web site both parks close at 7pm mon - fri ?? Yet it's still OUR Summer Holidays so seems pretty early if you ask me. Hope fully will still be parade or fireworks tho' ..... will let you know.

If the park closes at 7pm there will be a parade, but no fireworks unfortunately.

Summer season ends on 31st Aug, as all the other europena countries school holidays will be over

Wow, it is a little worrying to see. I wonder what times things will close when we go :confused3 The thing is, if they want to close early, fine, but they should give people a handout or something so they can plan their day better! :headache:

Cap'n - glad to hear they at least brought t-shirts back :thumbsup2

I must be the only one not remotely bothered about rides opening late and closing early.

It certainly looks that way Emma.

I'm bothered that they shut rides 5 hours before the park closes. I'm not bothered by closing an hour or so early but 5 hours is not acceptable...especially not during the summer holidays.

Yes I understand that costs need to be cut...but surely it's a very blinkered view to cut attraction opening times during your main holiday period having a dextremental effect on the very people that you need to return year after year.

Also, as you say Summer is their high season = high prices. People paying a premium do expect a high level of service tbh. It's not like DLRP is that cheap even out of season is it?

I think to me, as I said earlier, it's not the closing, it's the lack of communication which means you can't plan your day as well and end up missing out on stuff :sad2: What are you meant to do - walk all around the park noting closing signs BEFORE you start your day?? :confused3

I think during the summer its not right, but for me the park shuts at 7pm anyway and we don't ride many rides after 6pm anyway so thats why it doesnt bother me that much.

There is far more other things to do then do rides after these times. IMHO anyway :flower3:

I think we are similar in that respect Emma. On our last trip Denise and I went on hardly any rides/attractions - yes she was pregnant, but even usually we spend just as much time strolling around and enjoying the atmopshere as we do on attractions.

On our first day we usually only go on Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz and Phantom Manor (used to only be Pirates and Phantom till Buzz came along) and spend the rest of the time soaking up the excitement of being 'back home'.

As long as the shops stay open till closing im happy :lmao:

Any news if the rides at WDS are shut earlier?

It is amazing how many times you can go in the same shows and still enjoy looking around - I'm sure I see something different every visit, and then it comes down to the last day and I have to choose what to buy, usually too much!

I just get a really relaxing feeling looking in all the shops, even if the prices of some items is enough to make my eyes bulge out of my head :lmao:
