The Darling Family June Beach Club Trip:Hugging Ewoks and Finding Peter Pan

Loved seeing your boys defeat Lord Vader! :darth: What wonderful memories! I can just hear them telling their friends about battling Darth Vader. So cool!
They loved every minute of it! I showed them this update and they loved reliving it! I just love the magic and memories that Disney creates:wizard:

How brave your boys were to face and fight darth vader! He looks scary!
Does DHS have the jedi training everyday?
Darth Vader is very intimidating:scared1: so it did take some courage to go up against him. They have Jedi Training every day half a dozen times or so. We were prepared to go to every show until they were picked. I was very happy we didn't need to:goodvibes

Just wanted to check in to let you know that I am starting to read your trip report. I have a lot to catch up on.:)
:welcome: I've seen you over on Lisa's report. Glad you're here:goodvibes

Great pictures of your boys battling Darth Vader!!!:thumbsup2 They are some very brave boys!!!;) He looked very intimidating!! Glad to hear that they had so much fun!!!:goodvibes

I can see my DS wanting to do this when he gets bigger ... they look like they had a blast!!!!!!!!!!!! Great photos!

What great pictures of the boys training to be Jedi's. I'm so glad they defeated Vader and restored balance in the Force.;) How sweet that your DH got to experience such a magical moment with his boys.:goodvibes

I just caught up on all of the reading. :surfweb: I am really enjoying your report.:)

The SWW looks like it was a lot of fun and you got to see so many characters. My Dad is a big Vader fan. We bought him a Darth Vader Lives sweatshirt after the original movie.

The Beach Club is absolutely GORGEOUS! It looks like a fantastic place to stay.

Your boys being picked for Jedi training was fantastic. What a cherry on top that must have been for your trip!:dance3:

Looking forward to reading more installments.:yay:

What an amazing update!! I loved the pictures of the boys doing the Jedi Academy...what a great way to top off their Star Wars filled weeks!

Woo hoo!! After a few nights working it was so much fun to find two updates!! Good going getting the kidlets to Teppan Edo!! This was by far mine and my older grandsons favorite meal on our last trip!!!!:thumbsup2

:cool1::worship:For BOTH boys getting picked for Jedi training!! That is so great!! They both did so well! I must agree with Peter. The force is strong in your family!!

The photopass pictures are cute! I hadn't seen the balloon one before.:goodvibes

Looking forward to more and the treehouse villa visit also

The boys look great in their yellow shirts! :thumbsup2

They look so cute up on stage! One of mine had trouble with his robe too.

They did GREAT fighting Vader!! :cool1: And you got a lot of wonderful pictures.

“Son, the Force is strong in our family.” Love it!

:)

Too cool!! What a great experience for the boys!! Aww!!! Awesome pics!

Great pictures of your boys battling Darth Vader!!!:thumbsup2 They are some very brave boys!!!;) He looked very intimidating!! Glad to hear that they had so much fun!!!:goodvibes
He is intimidating! It really did take some guts, especially for Michael. He was nervous.

I can see my DS wanting to do this when he gets bigger ... they look like they had a blast!!!!!!!!!!!! Great photos!
I think most 6 or 7 year old boys just love this!

What great pictures of the boys training to be Jedi's. I'm so glad they defeated Vader and restored balance in the Force.;) How sweet that your DH got to experience such a magical moment with his boys.:goodvibes
DH did love this! It was the first thing he told everyone when they asked about our trip:goodvibes

SWW was so much fun. I'm not even a big fan, but watching all 3 of my boys was awesome:cool1: Plus the Disney characters in their outfits were adorable:cutie: And the Beach Club is wonderful:cloud9: I don't see us ever staying anywhere else during summer trips.

What an amazing update!! I loved the pictures of the boys doing the Jedi Academy...what a great way to top off their Star Wars filled weeks!
It was a Star Wars trip. That's for sure. They were great ages for it so I'm glad it worked out:goodvibes

Teppan Edo was a great meal, though it was a bit painful getting everyone there;) I'm so glad both boys got picked for Jedi training. It would have been such a bummer if only one did. That is one of the reasons I dressed them alike. I wanted to make sure the Jedi Master knew that if he picked one and not the other there would be serious disappointment and tears. And it worked:yay: Or you and Peter are right and the Force is just strong in our family:laughing: You'll have to wait a while for the treehouse villa visit. It doesn't come until Day 8. It will come though:goodvibes

I got the yellow shirt idea from your pictures from last year so thank you.:goodvibes The pictures turned out great. A lot of them were photopass. I was very excited a photopass guy was there. More is coming up, but it isn't very exciting.

So after forcing the Dark Side into retreat, I asked the kids what they wanted to do next. Their answer: The Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground! Are you kidding? It’s a zillion degrees outside and you want to go run around a playground? Of course they totally do. So we head over there, but I make them promise they will leave after 15 minutes. It is just too hot for these outdoor recreational activities. I have no pictures of this 15 minutes (probably because at the time I wished we were somewhere else):rolleyes1, but the kids loved their 15 minutes and squeezed every second they could out of them. As we walked out of the playground, the Power Rangers were just finishing up their meet ‘n greet. I surveyed the scene and realized the yellow line was shortest and probably the only one we had a chance of meeting. The only snafu: Yellow Ranger is a girl. And we all know how Michael reacts to girls. I did some fancy talking about how the boys were in yellow and matched the toughest power ranger. That better be the one we meet. The boys fell for my ploy and I don’t think Michael even noticed her gender (the mask probably helped with that).;) Here are the shots

It was getting close to 11:00. Wendy and I had big plans to go to American Idol so we headed off to catch the show. The boys had big plans to get in the 11:30 Indiana Jones show. I told them to mozy on over there and if they got there by around 11:10 they should be just fine. This was bad advice, but they trust me so they took it.:rolleyes1 Here are some pictures they took during their mozying.

They arrived at Indiana Jones just when I told them to and it was standing room only.:confused3 They didn’t feel like standing for 50 minutes so they headed over to Star Tours. They hopped in line, but it was way too long. They decided to just get fastpasses for later and then they came over to the American Idol exit to wait for Wendy and I.

Meanwhile, Wendy and I were sitting in the nice air conditioned theater enjoying the show.:goodvibes We both really liked the show. It was really similar to the TV show. Even the judges were eerily similar. I was impressed by the three contestants as well. The first wasn’t the greatest singer ever, but she had lots of energy and was fun to watch. She was also a great sport when “Simon” insulted her. Contestant #2 was great. She was young, beautiful and obviously had some musical theater training. She did a great job.:thumbsup2 Contestant #3 was the surprise. He was a 14 year old kid that frankly looked a little dorky. Then he opened his mouth and we were all awed. (kind of like Susan Boyle). Anyway, the 14 year old boy ended up winning. I felt a bit bad for Contestant #2 because I’d guess she would have won in most shows. Anyway, both Wendy and I enjoyed it and I’d go to it again sometime. If you’re an Idol fan I definitely recommend it. If you’re not an Idol fan, it’s air conditioned and sometimes that is enough.:rotfl:

We came out of the theater and found the boys. It was lunchtime and we had an ADR. Any guesses on where we ate?

Standing room only for Indiana Jones?! Was the park crowded this day? We went on a Saturday and walked right in to IJ and there was plenty of empty seats.

I'm glad you enjoyed AI. It does sound like a fun show.:)

Hmm. I bet its either Sci Fi or 50s PT for lunch. I'll guess....Sci Fi!

Too funny-I have DH taking DS to the Honey ISTK Playground while Emily and I go over to see the Narnia-Caspian display-which is my call since I made up the intinerary....:rolleyes1

I showed DH the photos of the boys battling Darth-and he was very engaged...:lmao: ( I think he wished the "Big Boys" could do this too...:lmao:)

Anyway-we have created a shirt suspiciously similiar to the one your little Jedi wore...not exact-but pretty darn close- Yellow, "I want to be a Jedi-slightly different image-Yep we basically copied...

so we shall see....

I enjoyed your "yellow" power ranger logic...:thumbsup2

Wow what a great update!!! I just love how much your kids are really enjoying the Star Wars and Power Rangers!! I have heard great things about the American Idol show...I just might have to go see it now!!!

Hmmmm...DIsney food....can't wait to find out where you ate!

Great updates! I'm glad your 2 DS got to do Jedi. I love the look of the stage at DHS. So different from the one at DLR. Mabye I can convice DD to do it there.

Yay the boys got picked for Jedi Training, bless they looked so cute up there and John did a great job protecting everyone :)

Great TR can't wait to read more popcorn::

Aw...that's too bad that the boys didn't get to see Indiana Jones.:sad2: But standing room only definitely doesn't sound fun, especially for 50 minutes!!!

American Idol sounds like so much fun!! It's definitely something I would love to watch!!! Maybe next trip.....;)

Lunch ADR????...I'm guessing Sci Fi too....popcorn::

I think the park was pretty crowded that day. It was a Fantasmic evening so I think that adds to the crowds. I didn't think IJ would get full that early though! Oh well. They really didn't seem to mind much. And you're right about lunch. You'll have to wait to see which one.

Too funny-I have DH taking DS to the Honey ISTK Playground while Emily and I go over to see the Narnia-Caspian display-which is my call since I made up the intinerary....:rolleyes1

Great idea to visit Prince Caspian:lovestruc while your DH goes to the playground. You definitely got the best part of that deal! My "big boy" would have loved to fight Darth Vader too:goodvibes And great minds think alike with the shirts:lmao: Anything to get picked. I'll be anxious to hear if it works for you.

My boys had the time of their life at the Studios this trip. It does seem to be a park more geared toward little boys compared to the MK and all is princess girly stuff.

Great updates! I'm glad your 2 DS got to do Jedi. I love the look of the stage at DHS. So different from the one at DLR. Mabye I can convice DD to do it there.
I don't remember the Jedi stage at DLR. I'll definitely have to check it out when we make it back west one of these years.

:welcome: Glad you're enjoying the report and congrats on reading thru the whole thing:goodvibes You have good taste in photos. Your favorites are my favorites too. And you're from London. I love London:love: I did a Study Abroad and lived there for 6 months in college. Right in the heart of Kensington. (I'll never have such a nice address again:rotfl:) Those were the days:goodvibes

Aw...that's too bad that the boys didn't get to see Indiana Jones.:sad2: But standing room only definitely doesn't sound fun, especially for 50 minutes!!!

The boys didn't seem to mind missing Indiana Jones too much. It just leaves us something for next time. American Idol was definitely worth doing:goodvibes Good guess for lunch. You'll have to wait and see.

Glad you liked the American Idol Experience. We enjoyed it too!!

Cute pics of the boys with the power rangers. I love how they matched th yellow ranger!

I think we'll do the American Idol again. I just asked Michael today if the yellow Power Ranger was a boy or a girl. He insisted she was a boy:laughing: Even after the other kids told him she was a girl, he was still skeptical.
