The What's For Dinner Thread - August '09(recipe index in OP)

Hi everyone,

Trying to come up with something for dinner tonight. I got out chicken, bacon and ham and was going to make a Chicken Eugenie or cordon bleu but now may wait until tomorrow as I have to take DD1 to the doctors. Maybe we'll do pancakes and bacon instead and make something else tomorrow night.

I'm not sure exactly how Lindsay's MIL is doing, but I know they are looking for a blood marrow donor for her. Lindsay's DH was all set to donate, but after testing they found out he's not a match. Otherwise, Lindsay's doing pretty well.

By the way, how does everyone feel about TNFNS?? I'm thrilled!!!!!

I am regretting not making extra pancakes just to have on hand while I was making them last night. I did make extra bacon but have to keep DH out of it - I'm trying a new potato salad recipe this week that calls for it. Yum!

Buddy harrowed our field under in Saturday. This is the second year we lose a crop. I never thought that I would see the day that I was grateful to put a plant out of it's misery but I reached that point. We visited farmers and they look like they are 110 years old this year. I don;t think that Buddy has really processed it yet, he was lost yesterday, this is when we are usually gearing up to take this crop in.

Im so sorry for youse guys.I have been moaning about the weather but its easy to forget it affects some folks livelihoods.
Give Buddy a big hug fae ower the water.

Aimee, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE pancakes. With blueberries - well, even better. But that is one of the things I just cannot cook. I have yet to make a pancake that was edible. That is why IHOP is one of my guilty pleasures.

IHOP is one of my Florida pleasures...I LOVE the place.

Had a great day today ( thank god after the disaster that was yesterday !! ) with the boy.

DH and I are both off work this week (Im also off next) and the boy has lots of plans.

Today was swimming.....now i dont really do swimming.

Im sure Ive told youse before I only ever wear a swim suit in Florida (now no hating ) because I know I'll look slim !!

But we did give the boy full control of the week so I had to go along with it.

And shock horror I had a blast !!

I do think it was more because I was lovin being with the boy....this workin through his school holidays has killed me.

Big plans for tomorrow so early to bed tonight.

Vickie -- I won't forget Freddie again. I'm glad you're getting some good family time. I went swimming with Caili today. I don't usually go in the water. It is way too cold. Usually, I don't even wear a swimsuit when we go to the beach, but today I did, and we had a fabulous time. The water didn't even seem that cold.

Lauren -- Have a great time at the concert!

We had burgers for dinner tonight. That was Liam's choice. At first I wasn't sure I wanted that, but they tasted so good after our day of sun and surf. Liam was a little disappointed that he missed out on the beach, but he had a great time at the camp too. He agreed that he would rather miss out on one afternoon of beach to skip three days of sitting in the skating rink.

Today I had the choice between cleaning and taking Caili to the beach. Guess what won?

My DN still has her moments. When we went to Ocean City for Memorial Day weekend they discovered she wasn't wearing any underwear under her dress when the stopped to go to the bathroom right as they got into OC. My sister has her wear that and a pair of shorts and my DN forgot to put them on.

Today is Patrick's 14th birthday! He survived another year without us killing him so in celebration we are having ice cream cake after dinner. I'm making chicken pilau which is one of his favorites and he doesn't have to eat any of the lima beans since he is the birthday boy. Tomorrow though, all bets are off.

Wish Patrick a Happy Birthday for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think you and Kenny need to celebrate too....after all You let him survive

Dinner is salad for me. I have lots left so I am having that with chicken. I have a lot of chicken so Buddy will have that.
