I am just wondering if I missed the big sales. I am mainly thinking of the ones like Target, Walmart and KMart, where they have the 10cent composition books and 25 cent glue sticks, cheap crayons and markers, etc. So did I?

You missed a few sales but I think more are still to come. K-mart has novelty folders on sale 2/1.00 this week, and 8.00 backpacks (including cool light-up ones) today and tomorrow. Officemax has .01 plain folders. Walmart has had glue sticks and crayons on sale. Walgreens and Riteaid have a few good deals this week. (Sorry I don't have any details but you can do a search for the sales circulars online.)

Good luck.:goodvibes

Target and Walmart have .25 crayons, glue sticks, .15 folders, and .75 markers.

OOOH, this is one of the ones I was looking for! Our walmart is renovating, so its hard to find anything. I guess I need to go and look.

So for the office supply stores, can teachers get more than the limit of the cheap items? I need to get lots of pencils, because we always run out mid-year.

I see you are a fellow NC resident. Expect big sales this weekend - the tax free holiday in NC is Friday August 7-sunday August 9.

PS - I work not far from the Tarheels at Carol Woods Retirement Community on Weaver Dairy Road.

I actually live in Hillsborough, around 10 miles for Carol Woods. Small world....;)

I don't know of teachers get to bypass the limit. Instead of asking I took my mom or DH with me (mutliple trips each week) to stock up. We each reached the limit, did some other shopping and came back for the limit again. No questions asked. I think they assumed that I was a teacher.

We got a lot of great deals at Target. We got 4 spiral notebooks for .60 and loose leaf paper was .50. I also got crayons and 2 pack glue sticks and pencil sharpeners for .20. I hope this helps!

Looseleaf paper at my Target was ringing up at 75 cents so I passed. I got....

8--2 pk Elmers Glue stick for 25 cents each(not all types, this was the purple disappearing kind)

10--24 pk RoseArt Crayons for 20 cents each

2---4 pk 70 pg composition books for 60 cents each

8-- Trapper Keeper Type folders(nice and thick) for 50 cents each

4---12 pk Papermate pens

8--70 pg Mead Patterned composition books

Went to Office Depot and got 3 of the 10 pk pencils for 10 cents, and 3 of the pencil sharpeners for 10 cents, as well as a 6 pk of Sharpie highlighters for 99 cents.

Went to office Max and got the 3 pks of looseleaf paper for 25 cents each and 3 of the 12 pk pencils for 25 cents each,

Didn't make it to Staples, but maybe tomorrow.

Now what I really need is a good price on a 2 inch binder and a big(high school) backpack.

Staples will let teachers get over the limit. Last year it was 22 I think. I know one of the workers put two packages of 10 elmers glue in my cart and a couple of extra when I asked about it. That was when they were giving away 2 free bottles of glue. I got lead pencils cheap too for Writers Workshop, but the leads were so brittle they didn't last long.

Staples has .01 filler paper this week. As a teacher I was allowed 25. I got 25 packs of paper for .27-YEAH!!!! Teacher appreciation at my Staples(Auburn Ma) is Aug. 22 9am-12pm.

I took my kids to the movies today and there was a Staples near the theater. I decided to stop in there because I needed a self adhesive laminating kit. I found one cent notebook paper. Limit of 5 and after that it is .65 cent each package.

I just thought I would add this to this thread.

What was the sheet count on the loose leaf paper? Thanks

Not sure about Target, but the Staples loose leaf paper is 150 count for $0.01.
I took DD and DNiece yesterday, and I got 25 (teacher) and they each got 5. They got the wide ruled, and I took college ruled.

Then today I went back for 25 more!:cool1:

OOOHHH---I will have to go get a bunch of paper--did not want to drive for 5 packs. I am a teacher, so I will get 25.

Marsha

I found 4 pack Expo markers for $1.98 at Walgreens yesterday. They're on DD's list this year so that was a nice find.

That is fabulous! How many can you buy? I will have to bring DD and DN again, so they can stand in line for me. Problem is DN likes to keep the stuff she stands in line for.:)

I didn't see a limit in the flyer or in the store; I only grabbed 2 packs b/c that's all the cash I happened to have on me at the time. I'm going to try to swing by there again today and see if any are left. Ours was on page 11 of 20 in the weekly ad, www.walgreens.com
