Hi, All! I know I have seen this discussed before, but wasn't able to turn up the thread in a search.....Which of the Disney outlets is better? Is there a consensus? :confused3

I have looked at them online and found both Prime Outlets International and Orlando Premium Outlets. If one does not consistently have better merchandise, is one easier to get to?

FYI, we are 2 adults and will have a rental car.

TIA!

Lauri

There are two Disney operated outlet stores in the Orlando area. They are both off of I-75.

Character Premiere is located in Orlando Premium Outlets:
Orlando Premium Outlets
8200 Vineland Avenue
Orlando, FL 32821
(407) 238-7787

Character Warehouse is located in Prime Outlets, Mall 1:
4951 International Drive
Orlando, FL 32819
(407) 352-9600

They pretty much have the same merchandise, but if you see something you want at one and they do not have your size you can try the other one. We usually end up going to both.

Personally, I like the one one Vineland Ave., it is closer to WDW and also near a Chic-fil-a (we don't have them in IL and I LOVE their lemonade).

At Premier Outlet Mall just down the street from Downtown Disney there is the Character Outlet. It has some current merchandise as well as stuff they are liquidating from the parks at Discounted prices. You can also purchase park tickets there but not at a discount. This one is located behind Golden Corral and Bahama Breeze.

Then down the road in a seperate shopping center called Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores there is a store called Disney's Character Premier and they have older merchandise at good prices and in the back right corner they have amazing scrapbook merchandise at less than half the price of J's or M's. This one is located not too far down from Wal-Mart.

Those are the ones we always hit even if we are just there for the day. Hope it helps.

If you have a few hours to spare or it is a really rainy day and you don't want to do the parks I recommend that you go to the Character Premier in St Augustine. It is off I-95 so you would have to take I-4 to I-95 and take the outlet exit in St Augustine. Maybe a 2 hour drive. Even better if you are driving home going north.
I have found so much more there than at the two Orlando stores. I bought tons of stuff last week at St augustine, but found nothing at the Orlando stores and I went to each on the first day of my vacation and on the last. I drove home so I passed the St. Augustine exit anyhow, I didn't go out of my way.

I completely agree! I also really like the town, history (National Park), and food in St. Augustine. The only reason I did not recommend this was OP's statement that they had a rental car--I just assumed they were flying and a 2+ hour each way trip to shop is a bit much.

Yep we love this one. Picked up all DD trader pins for our next trip. I did pay more than ebay but I liked knowing they were official.

I like the Premium outlet better- it is closer to WDW - Disney stores are about the same but I like the layout of premium better:)and if you are looking for anything else you can join their VIP club for free and get really good discounts & print coupons.

2 weeks ago hubby got shoes that were marked 120.00 at our local mall , but they were 59.00 each at the outlet store, plus a 40% discount on my total purchase:)

I got stuff at Disney store that was at DTD and marked on sale but was still cheaper at the outlet.

I visited both Disney outlets in Orlando on our past trip in June, and they are definitly worth the time to go take a look at what they have. I was so suprised at the merchandise they had because some of it wasn't even that old. I think it's well worth the time to stop by and take a look! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Everyone! This is great information.

Yes, we are flying from the Philly area, so St Augustine is out for this time. But good to know for future, you never know when you will be driving by....

We will definitely take some time for the outlets.

Thanks again!
