Anyyone who is familiar please PM or post. My Mom just called me, they are supposed to be headed out for the weekend. Anyway, they bought this set-up and know little about RV'ing. Anyway, they are doing their pre-driving saftey check and they have no trailer brake lights or directionals. I know nothing about RV's but said it sounded like a fuse. Any other theories suggestions? I dont even know where the fuses are to tell them to check. The tow vehicle has lights. They have a Dodge 3500 dually.

Did they buy from a dealer or an individual? I have a Keystone Cougar and as far as Iknow there is no fuses for the lights, just a junction box where the plug wire comes in from the truck. I would look in the truck manual to see where the fuse for the trailer lights is located then check that first. In my truck (2004 Silverado) I have a fuse box on the drivers side dash and one under the hood. Make sure they check to see if they have both. My guess is the dash cluster type stuff is inside and the exterior items are under the hood. Good luck. If it is a dealer, a good one will help troubleshoot the problem.

Thanks. They bought from an individual, and it is missing many of the keystone manuals, but has the truck manual. I will call them and let them know what you said. I hope they get on the road. My Mom needs some R&R

Thanks again. After a inspection, they found "cracked bulbs from condensation" so says the step-son in law of my Moms BF. Anyway, they replaced the bulbs and should be on the road shortly.

And I though boats were money pits!!!!

BOAT= bring on another thousand

camper= about the same lol.

I can't picture condensation causing bulbs to crack. I know they get hot but not that hot. Hopefully it's a good camper and not a bunch of problems.

I said the same thing about the comdesation. But this guy is a arrogant know it all type. He started an arguement wiht me about my boat once. He asked what I have I told him a Triumph....He went off that they don't make boats that it is a motorcycle company, blah blah blah.

The RV, still to be decided. They are finidning things wrong with it, and I think the previous owners didn't keep it well, or treat any of their gear good. But hind sight is 20/20.

I'm trying to track down all the original manuals. They already had one problem with the slide outs not closing, and the manaul with the override instructions is MIA. We ended up doing a pass through of the battery from one of our cars.

I hate to hear this. I see more and more co.'s that do rv inspections before you buy. Maybe this could be another business lol. My biggest concern for them is to get the roof checked asap in case there are any leaks.

Luckily for them, I am a certified water (and fire) damage inspector. There is no evidence of a water leak.
