3/17 Update Day 13 of our 14 day! DISUnplugged PODCAST CRUISE and a rainy week at WDW

Woo Hoo Shanan. Great Pics. I ate at Narcooses after the cruise and time it out so we watched Wishes from the balcony before dessert. What a great place and I don't eat seafood. :thumbsup2:

Thought I should say Hi :wave2: Great report so far :woohoo:

I agree the Fountain is as good as Beaches and Cream popcorn:: I sure could eat one right now!

We also enjoyed the Wave, we did dinner and a breakfast and for the breakfast we got a massive booth table for just the 2 of us :rotfl:

Oh how I wish we were back on board :goodvibes Looking forward to the next installment :thumbsup2

Hi Shanan! :wave2: Jaime put a link to your report in her report. Thanks Jaime! I'm giving you a computer hug. I can't wait to read your report.

Yeah, you're on the ship - I'm so jealous!!!!!

Oh, wait, I was there - I'm going through security!!! :lmao:
Thanks for the plug! I now have readers!!
I think after reading these trip report we will be booking a cruise in the not too distant future! I'm so jealous!

Keep up the great work and great pictures!

Yes! You will definitely be booking a cruise! It is such a good value!!!

Awesome update! I love the larger print - definitely easier to read!! :)

First...The town of Celebration does seem like a desolate place. But we were there in the middle of the night going to the hospital - but I remember some of those intersections. Even in the night. :thumbsup2

Your pictures are great! I love the muster drill pic! I can't wait to read more!!!!
I am glad the print is easier to read! I am working on making this better! I am glad I am improving! This is my 2nd attempt at writing a trip report and I am learning from the master!(Jaime).
The town of Celebration is a really cool quaint little town during the day! Reminded me of the town from The Truman Show/The Stepford Wives

Ha ha! I am glad you are liking the pictures! Jason sometimes gives me a hard time when I want him to take a silly pic of me, glad someone is getting enjoyment out of them, other than my son! :lmao:

Loving your report! The Swan/Dolphin hotels are so pretty and the views are awesome:love: I would love to stay someday but can't convince the rest of family to stay anywhere other BWV. Maybe my next trip I'll arrive a couple of days early and stay there.

How exciting to join other Diser's on a cruise! I've been following along with Jamie's report and it's cool to see your perspective. You are doing a great job :thumbsup2 Am anxious to read how you liked your inside cabin (I think Jamie gave a tip that if you keep the tv tuned to the channel showing live pics from the ship that at least you don't feel all disoriented in knowing what time it was. I had the same experience on my 2001 Princess cruise being in an inside cabin but it was great too for napping!)

You and Jason are an adorable couple and your son is so cute! Love your new haircut :)
While the view at the Dolphin is wonderful! The room at BWV is oh soo much nicer! When we were at the Dolphin, it just didn't feel like Disney?!? Something was off.....maybe it was Peekaboo! That place is just creepy!!!

Joining other DISers was very exciting! The funny thing is, Jason was the one that really wanted to go on the cruise, and I think I ended up having more fun on it then him!! Awww I am glad you think we are a cute couple! I think my son is pretty cute myself :). Ok....so I should keep it short :).

Woo Hoo Shanan. Great Pics. I ate at Narcooses after the cruise and time it out so we watched Wishes from the balcony before dessert. What a great place and I don't eat seafood. :thumbsup2:
Hi Rob! Isn't Narcooses one of the best places to watch Wishes fireworks?!? I loved it! So if you don't eat seafood what did you eat? Curious minds want to know!!

Hi Becky! Oh yes the Fountain is fantastic, I wish I could eat at both places on the same day to do a direct comparison! I didn't know The Wave did breakfast, what do they serve? I wish I was back on board too! Wasn't that trip the best!!
Hi Shanan! :wave2: Jaime put a link to your report in her report. Thanks Jaime! I'm giving you a computer hug. I can't wait to read your report.
Hi Anne! I am sooo glad Jaime put a link to me in her TR, that is what friends are for :). Your computer hugs aren't as good as your real hugs! (Note: If you ever get to meet aspen37 you must get a hug from her, she gives the best hug I think I have ever had!)

Ok, Now I must tell you all, that I write my TR as I am sitting in front of the computer looking at my old pictures....so I don't have anything written for my next chapter yet! I am going to try to stay right behind Jaime, or as close as I possibly can! I want her to spill it first, and then I will follow! I am soooo happy that you are all here for the ride!! :grouphug:

Woo Hoo! My 600th Post!!
Ok....I just found my navigator and we were at the Adventures Away party! "Earn your status as V.I.P. sailors as your Cruise Director Christiaan, your Disney Pals, and the Cruise Staff officially begin your 'Adventures Away'"

Now it is 5:00 and we head down to Wavebands (one of the clubs, well really the only club) for the Welcome Aboard reception hosted by the DIS team! At this point I am pretty nervous! I walk in and I immediately spot Julie and Ferris!! Oh my gosh how cute are they! Ferris is just sleeping in his stroller and I chat with Julie for a little bit. But I am telling you, I am starstruck!! Ok the party is about to begin!
I think Jaime again waves us over and we sit with her and Andrea, Vinny, Tonya, Robin, and Rob. I chat with Rob about how cool his fish extender is! He is in the room next to ours, and before the cruise I saw his awesome fish extender on the fish extender forum for the podcast cruise! I think he should post a picture. It turns out he just gave his friend some Tigger clipart, his friend is very talented!
The podcast crew just tell us how excited they are to have us on board, and let us know about some of the activities they have planned and introduce us to everyone on stage. They introduced the dreams agents that were on board too. (Dagny, Mary Jo, Martha, and of course Tracy, and a few others) The team thanks Tracy for all her hard work and gave her a very cool Mickey statue! Shelly (shellyminnie) gave Tracy her wine of the month club gift...and now it was time to get our behind to the show!
100_3345-1.jpg

(bad pic-like Jaime said we were in the back of the room)

At this point I could feel the boat rocking....ut oh! I also kept looking out the windows and thinking wow! We are on a boat in the middle of water? It just never felt like we were the whole cruise. Jaime, Robin and I chat with a castmember from England who tells us that the boat is rocking because it is going pretty fast right now, since it is trying to get through the Florida straits(I guess it is a pretty good current). He said once we get through the straits it will be all clear. Ok I hope so!!!

6:15 pm The show tonight is The Golden Mickeys "Celebrate the musical heritage of Walt Disney in this toe-tapping tribute to the Disney Studio's Classic Films- with sensational stage performances of some of the most beloved Disney songs"
Ok can someone please answer when was Tarzan a classic Disney Film?
I think that was just a poor excuse for a chiseled man to swing from a rope in nothing but a loincloth. Was Hunchback of Notre Dame also featured?!? But, overall pretty cute show, don't want to give too much away! I loved the seven dwarves part! Ok now it is time to get dressed in decent clothes for our dinner tonight at Animator's Palate (ut oh we will be out of our white shirts, how will anyone know who is a DISer?!?!?)!

We head back to our room to get ready for dinner.

A little bit about our room, it isn't as small as I thought it would be. We booked a category 12 inside cabin. Here is exactly what our room looked like down to the pictures on the wall. [post=32801615]Jaime's tour of the stateroom[/POST] I guess the only difference is the size of the bathroom. We also are participating in the Fish Extender gift swap thingy....here is the Fish Extender that 3 generations participated in making (me, my mom and my grandma) Also, the middle pocket is a design I helped create with Jen! I like doing designs for Disney freaks in my spare time as well!
Copyof100_3463.jpg

(this picture was taken a few days into our cruise hence all the cool gifts on our door)
It was really neat coming back to the room and seeing all the new treasures that were waiting!

Off to dinner....but 1st we stop to watch the sunset! We run into Dave and family, he had 1st seating. He said the food was very good, ok this gives me hope.

Jason and the special yellow lifeboat ;).
100_3348.jpg

Not the best picture of me (it was windy), but the sunset sure is cool!
100_3349.jpg

At this time I see a couple sitting in lounge chairs and I think to myself I wonder if they are DISers? It turns out they are Lori and Rick (theBeadPirate) I find this out because they are our tablemates at a 4 top for the next few nights!! How weird!?!?

A kind crew member sees us taking pictures of each other and asks if he could take a picture of the two of us. SURE! (we hate asking others to take our picture, that is why there are a lot of pics where just one of us is in the frame)
100_3351.jpg

I thought this is a cool one trying to look down the length of the ship. But I don't recommend it, I had to lean out pretty far, and it was scary! I thought I was going to drop our camera in the water!!
100_3353.jpg

Drats stupid clouds! I want to see the sun dip into the water!
100_3357.jpg

Yes! It decided to peek out at the last second!
100_3360.jpg

All gone! Now time for dinner!
100_3362.jpg

As we are outside of Animator's Palate waiting to be seated we run into Tom and Ann and their children! I don't really remember what we talked about! I was still soooo shy! We sit down and meet Rick and Lori! Yay! I actually know who these guys are! I mean well I recognize them from the boards! Some DISers came on this trip that strictly only listen to the podcast. This night we are also sitting very close to George (georgemoe) and his wife Deb (leftinnorway). At this point of the cruise I am still in my shell, and very, very, very, very shy! I wish now that I would have talked to them. There are many people I felt this way! It was hard to try to meet 300 people, but that 1st night I really wasn't trying at all. :(. I can't even imagine what trying to meet 500 will be like!!!

We meet our servers Hans and Oscar! Hans was the best!!!!

I am really not a huge drinker, I am more of a social drinker. Jason ordered a drink with dinner and I was shocked that it was only 5.50! When we go out to eat and order a cocktail it is usually around 8 or 9. They also had a drink of the day for 3.95. I was very impressed with the prices for alcoholic beverages aboard the ship.

Jason ordered a True Colors Captain Morgan, Crème de Banana, and Orange Juice, topped with Strawberry Puree

Time for our Appetizers (the 4 of us all order)

Wild Mushrooms Risotto and Porcini Wafer served with parmiggiano reggiano and black truffle oil
100_3363.jpg

(oh my gosh this was sooooooo good!!)

Next up are Soup & Salads (Jason doesn't order one! And I let him have it! You must order it so I can get a picture of it, he orders one the rest of the cruise, good husband :))

Smoked Salmon and Trout with Goat Cheese Salad on baby greens, with toasted almonds and a cranberry balsamic vinegar dressing
100_3364.jpg

(this was ok.....the Trout was good)

Main Course

Mine: Lemon-Thyme Marinated Chicken Breast on top of Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Root Vegetables and Grain Mustard Jus.
100_3366.jpg

(this must have been just ok...because I don't even remember it really)

Jason's: Animator’s Grilled Veal Chop with Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes with Sweet Onions and a Morel Mushroom Sauce
100_3365.jpg

Dessert our 1st brush with the Sweet Temptations, Lori's cake was oozing out water. It was the funniest thing ever! Ok, so we can say one thing...the desserts are not fresh!
Animator's Sweet Temptations A Trio of Strawberry Sable, Cranberry and Orange Cheesecake, and Double-Fudge Chocolate Cake
100_3367.jpg

(okay...while they looked pretty...they were not good)

We head back to our stateroom to use the facilities! Isn't that weird to say? This being our 1st cruise and all......would you really go from Animal Kingdom to Pop if you had to use the restroom? LOL! One of the many perks of being on a cruise!

Our bed is turned down with chocolates and we have this on our bed.
100_3368.jpg

(oh see those buttons to the left, they will be important later)

Looking at the navigator earlier in the day, I want to go see the game show Match Your Mate. Our stateroom is on floor number 2 and the adult clubs are on floor number 3, right above us! We have to go up one flight of stairs to get to Wavebands! So, here we are in Wavebands and we are playing a game called Ice Breakers basically asking questions like "what is the most popular sport?" and whatever answer has the most answers those teams get a point. I think the winning teams got these hats that said Winner on them.

10:30 pm time for Match Your Mate
This is basically the Newlywed show, but with a new couple, a married couple and a couple that has been together for a very long time! The couple that was together for a very long time happened to be DISers! Sue and Fred couple on the far right! Don't know their screennames, but their daughter is Wallis (Addicted to Dopey)
100_3369.jpg

We then went to the Cadillac Lounge for a little bit, because there was a full moon on Saturday night, and today is Sunday so the moon is still pretty bright, and it looks so pretty hitting the water! I think this was my bad attempt of trying to catch the essence of the moon!
100_3370.jpg

(yep this is from a porthole window in the Cadillac Lounge)

I think after this we walked around to explore the ship for a bit, I believe Tonya and Yvette waved us into Wavebands to dance, we were there for like 20 seconds dancing with them and walked out...I feel bad, but we were tired and wanted to rest, plus I was shy at this point in the cruise!! Sorry ladies!!

On our way back to the room, I tell Jason to pose like Walt!
100_3372.jpg

We had a dilemma when we got back to the room......we do not like breakfast and we are not morning people. So, do we order room service now (it is around 1:30 am) and then wake up at the last possible second to take a shower and dress for the Disney Institute presentation at 8:00 am, or do we just go to bed and wake up early and eat breakfast.

Ok, so we decide to order room service...I order the Chicken wrap and the fruit plate, and Jason orders the Hot Dog and Fries and of course we have to get Mickey Bars! I was hungry so, you get our empty dishes and empty Mickey Bars......is this as bad as Bob's empty Dole Whip Containers?
100_3373.jpg

(oh well, Jason has a Mickey Bar in the picture, but it has a bite taken out of it! :P.)

Nighty Night! It is now 2:00 am, and the presentation starts at 8:00 am.
At least our room is pitch dark, we didn't leave a single light on...in fact Jason put a towel under the door so not a spec of light will enter our room! Wow! I think this was the darkest place I have ever been! I had my eyes completely open but I could not see a single thing. That was pretty neat!!! Another perk of an inside cabin.

:wave2:

Just wanted to say that, thanks to Jaime's link, I'm following along now too Shanan! GREAT JOB! Very cool reliving it all.

I'm loving your TR Shanan!

Turning into the Outlets we spot these on top of the lights?!?
100_3223-1.jpg

I guess they are for cops to know when the light is red from every direction to deter red light runners. Sounds like there would be an easier solution to the problem.

Todd and I were going to Wal-Mart and saw the blue light on the signal and were wondering what was up with them. I like your conclusion. :thumbsup2

Let's zoom in!
100_3275.jpg

WOO HOO! I found a gator!! :yay::yay: Proof that we must heed Pete's advice! He is a wise man!

Congrats on finding a gator. :thumbsup2 I was looking everywhere and never did see one.

We head over on the monorail to the Poly and walk towards the beach. It is pretty dark and hard to see anyone. I believe it is already around 9:30 pm and Wishes starts at 10:00 pm. Jen (DVCsince02) says Hi to me and tells me to go over to Tracy (winotracy) to get a lanyard, with your name tag. I find her and Tracy tells me that I look different. I had got my haircut since I met her in June 2008! This lady has a memory of an elephant! Mindy (ursulasshadow) saw Jason and I and said "aaronmckie and A. Mickey" and then we posed for a picture with her. I was starstruck...I didn't even think she knew who we were! :rotfl:

By this time I am feeling more at ease. Jason and I decide to head up to the bar to get a drink. Jason gets a lapu lapu and I get some kind of light beer. :confused3
We head back down and this is when I see Ann (maziezoe) on the beach. I recognize her because I see Piper and Logan (her kids) playing in the sand! I give her a big hug:hug:. We had been talking previously through emails on FB about the trip. Then Todd (jeanigor) came over and hugged Jason and I we had previously met at the DTD meet in December of 08. Jaime (tiggerbell) was close behind and said she would hug me but she is rather sticky at the moment. :rolleyes1. We talked to other DISers but at the time I didn't know who they were yet. Then we talked to Rob (guynwdm) right before Wishes started. We watched Wishes and then the crowd pretty much dispersed.

Jason and I headed back to the monorail and ran into Karen (klamchowder) and Robert (her husband) we told them that we would give them a ride back to the Dolphin and then we got talking to the meet that was suppose to happen at Jellyrolls after the Poly meet. I asked her if she knew if anyone was going and she said she didn't but would still like to go! I said the same so we drove over to the Dolphin and walked to Jellyrolls! We ate lots of popcorn and had a good time listening to all different sorts of music. At one time they were even playing tv theme songs one of which was the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. This was a lot of fun! I highly suggest going!
100_3303.jpg

100_3304.jpg

Karen and Robert left around 1 am and we were close behind we had to get up in the morning for breakfast at Cape May Cafe.

I don't know how Kim and I missed you and Jason on the beach. We were standing next to Ann and her family. :confused3 :confused3

We are on the ship! We are on the ship!

I see a pretty cool carpet where all the adult clubs are located, since Jason and I both grew up off of Route 66, we take our pictures next to the locations we grew up:

Woo Hoo! My 600th Post!!

Congrats on your 600th post!

Shanan, are you suggesting that I hug myself? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Were you sleepy when you read my post? :rotfl2:

Oh wow! Sorry, yes maybe just a little! And still am, Anna! I think I may have been telling other people that if they meet you that they should really get a hug from you because you are the BEST!!

Thanks guys!! I am glad you are liking my TR! This is my very 1st one...so I am happy that I am doing a good job! :goodvibes

I don't know how Kim and I missed you and Jason on the beach. We were standing next to Ann and her family. :confused3 :confused3

At this time of the trip, I was very very very introverted! I only said Hi to the people, that either came up to me, or that I recognized from talking to them previously! I am just glad we got to hang out at DATW, and it still was very hard to meet all!

Jason and I were neighbors, lived in Bullhead City, AZ. I saw Bullhead City on the map too.:thumbsup2

WOW! That is awesome! I will have to pass this along to Jason!!:banana::banana:

Hi Shanan! I wasn't on PCC 1.0, but DH, DS and I will be on 2.0! I don't post much on the Podcast boards (I really need to start to get to know some people...But post a lot on the TR boards). DH and I listen to the Podcast in our car while traveling back and forth for work-it sure makes going to work more bearable! ;)

I followed the plug for your report on Jaime's, and I'm enjoying yours! I can understand being a bit shy at first - I'm normally NOT shy AT ALL, but sometimes I get a bit intimidated/overwhelmed and I could see myself being shy at first...so this is a good report to keep in mind of "DON'T BE SHY" :goodvibes

Your DS is adorable!!

I'll let it slide this time but on 2.0 I expect to see you wearing your boogie shoes. :dance3:

Hi Brook! Your son is extremely cute! I loved reading your mini-trip report of going to the Dells, I didn't finish all of it yet. Trying to keep away from the little red car, and him getting a date in the red car was hilarious! Where are you from? I am glad you are enjoying my report! Yes, we should not be shy! I posted in another thread, that we people that are Disney nuts and listen to the podcast, really have a lot in common. We obviously share the same taste in humor and LOVE Disney so we already have lots in common, so there is no reason to be shy! Cannot wait to meet you on PCC 2.0!! :yay::yay:
Is it wrong to feel famous for being mentioned in your TR? ;)
Is it wrong for me to feel famous that you are reading my TR? :rotfl: I was just so happy to meet you on the Beach, you really made me feel at ease!! Thanks!! :yay: I am just flabbergasted that anyone is reading my report! I really just wanted to do this for myself, to remember the great time we had. I am sooo happy that everyone is coming out of the woodwork and actually enjoying my TR!! :woohoo:

Ut oh! I better start taking lessons! I use to when I was young, sometimes I feel that I have two left feet!!

Like I said before I am writing this report as I go along....this weekend was extremely busy for me. We hung out with Ann (maziezoe) and her family yesterday and went to a Coldplay concert last night, and then spent all of today again with Ann and her family. Hopefully I will be adding another chapter either tomorrow night or by the latest on Tuesday night! :thumbsup2

You are sweet so say so. That night at the Poly was insane. We had just come from Narcoosees so I was feeling over dressed (or under dressed do the the cut of the top of my dress). Plus, I was trying to say hello to so many people while handing out the glow necklaces that Dodie and I bought. It was fun.

Im here!!! Sorry Im late! :cool1:
Glad you are here! You aren't late! I am only at the end of day 3! There are still 11 more days of fun!:woohoo:

You looked great that night!! princess:

7:45 AM
We wake up, shower and get ready for the Disney Institute presentation at 8:30. On the way there we pass by Fred and Sue the winners of last nights game show Match Your Mate and I tell them how funny I thought they were. They won a spa package for two for the Razul? I guess, you take mud and rub it all over each other? Doesn't sound very romantic to me, sounds kinda scratchy! One of the questions from last nights game was "What would your wife say is the 1st thing you touch in the morning?" And Fred said "The cat!" and Tissa said "Is that what you call it?"

8:30 AM
So here we are in the theater ready for the presentation. Kevin and John talk a little bit and then introduce this guy...
100_3464.jpg

(this picture was taken two days from the presentation, no pictures were allowed during the actually presentation)

Was his name Corey or was his name Mark?!? I don't remember! Oh well, I think he responds to either. Oh yeah, that's right his name was Mark and it was to common because at Disney they go on a 1st name basis and he had to be identifiable, so for the job they decided to call him Corey.

Mark/Corey gave us a presentation about the history of Disney. For our group much of the presentation were things we had already heard before. Some of the pictures were new to me though. The presentation lasted for a little over an hour.

Now it was time for Palo Brunch!

Some snapshots on the way to Palo.
100_3374.jpg

(I was trying to get the smoke coming out of the smokestack but I just missed it!)

Imagination Movers on the big screen!

(had to get these for Aaron)
100_3376.jpg

(can't forget about Scott and his wobble goggles)

Here is where we are thinking about going after dinner tonight.
100_3377.jpg

(Atlantis Casino)

10:00 AM
Here we are in Palo, thanks the DIS team, this was a free Brunch that they set up for us! We are sitting with Jaime, Robin, Ann and her husband Tom our sever is Judy (AKA Juicy J). I am still pretty quiet at this point, but I believe Jaime is trying to get me to come out of my shell.

I never did take a picture of my appetizer plate....shame on me!
At this point Jaime got Jason to try Ahi Tuna on a little silver spoon! This kinda made me mad! As he never tries anything for me!! But this came back to bite me in the  later! (Just wait til the last night at Tritons)

I ordered the Chicken :P.
100_3379.jpg

(this basically tasted like a pretty bad chicken parmigiana, I wasn't impressed)

Jason ordered the Fruit Pizza:
100_3380.jpg

I also ordered the mushroom soup.
100_3381.jpg

(Now this was good!)

Time for dessert!! Click this link for [post=32835703]Jaime's pretty Dessert pictures[/POST]
100_3382.jpg

(OK! This is something that Palo did exceptionally well! The sweet temptation desserts from last night don't even compare to the desserts served in Palo!)

Around this time Tiara Todd was passing around his autograph book to get all of our signatures, and the FOJ's (Friends of Jaime)was born :). Well at least to me it was! And I was also inducted into Todd's Royal Subjects! YAY!

We all went our separate ways until 2 pm....The Martini Tasting.

Thank you! :goodvibes I'm still not done with the Dells - it's a slow work in progress as part of the PTR. Henry just loved that red car, and he loves his lady friend too! The Mom of the crew there actually watches Henry while I'm at work, and everyday we drive up to their house and Henry shouts the little girl's name. :lovestruc :cutie:

I am originally from a suburb of Chicago (Bolingbrook), but have lived in Minnesota pretty much since 4th grade, with a 1.5 year stint in NYC. Right now, we are in Central Minnesota.

I can't wait to meet you either!! The more I read about the cruise, the more excited I am! I will try to hang around on the Podcast boards some too and attempt to get to know ya'll a bit better!

Oh, and about your update - LOVE the Imagination Movers on the big screen! LOL "Imagination Movers, ya gotta think about it...."
