The Darling Family June Beach Club Trip:Hugging Ewoks and Finding Peter Pan

Then DH wanted to know what the fuss was so I told him. He tried it [Beverly] and said something like, "Oh it's not that bad." :scared1: WHAT?????

This must be a guy thing. My DH actually says he likes it. :confused3

The room was very clean and perfect for the Darlings! Michael and John shared a bed and Wendy loved the daybed.

Question - did you get a daybed because you were a family of five? Or is one standard in Beach Club rooms? We've decided we definitely need two rooms next time so dd and ds can NOT share a bed - but if we could get a daybed for one of them, that might be a better option!

I think they thought it was going to move as fast as a merry go round or something. Can you imagine? That would make for some queasy eating

It sure would, since the SLOW revolving pace made me horribly nauseous when we ate at the Garden Grill! You can have our ADR for next time - we won't be needing it. :rotfl:

Wow! I love this picture. I so wish we could have gone during Star Wars Weekends, but it didn't work out for us. Sounds like you had a great time!

Okay, back to reading... Didn't know how many multi-quotes it would let me get away with. Loving your report!

Thanks for pointing me to your trip report! I especially loved all the SWW pictures - we definitely need to do that again! Your girls' night out sounded fun, too, but I can't imagine seeing Spectro without my boys! Looking forward to reading more!

Love the pictures of your boys playing on the beach!! What a relaxing way to start the day.:thumbsup2

Cape May's breakfast looks like sooo much fun!!! (and sounds yummy too!!:goodvibes)

Okay, now I'm wondering??? What did you learn from the boards, that was right up your alley? popcorn::

Looks like the boys (and you!) enjoyed your morning on the beach. :goodvibes

Love the toes! :cutie:

I have been CRAVING a Mickey waffle (and we never ended up getting any last month!!) so I just want to reach into my monitor and grab that one off of Michael's plate! lol

Yay for Peter Pan, he sure is out!! :cool1:

Next up we did something I learned about from the boards, and the minute I heard about it knew it was right up my alley. What could it be?

Should I know this?? I'll be thinking about it all night...

The boys look like they had a wonderful time playing in the sand! We haven't eaten at Cape May Cafe, may have to add it to the list of places to try.

What a great morning! We loved the Cape May breakfast when we did it last January.

I love your toes! I painted Mickey heads on mine and my dd's toes before we left too but yours are much better!!

Can't wait to hear what you do next...popcorn::

What a great way to start the day!! Sounds like a nice breakfast. Wendy is such a pretty little girl. All the kids are cute.

OOh I can't wait to hear what it is!!!!

Just read your entire TR. Great job! Can't wait to hear about what you read about doing on the boards. :listen:

You have a wonderful family.:goodvibes

Don't you just love PP! I'm addicted to it now! Last year I ended up with 2130 pictures after edits-that was for WDW inc. both TL and BB and many trips to DLR though.

Can't wait to read more, I enjoy your style of writing.

Less than 7 weeks until our trip!

Wow! BCV is a beautiful resort. I love the pics of the boys playing in the sand. How restful!

I didn't realize there was a character meal there. I love the characters in their swim suits.

Your kids are so darn adorable! I just love all the pictures!

Ohhh can't wait to see what it is.....:goodvibes
Coming up shortly:goodvibes

great start to the day:)
Thanks! Of course, every day starts great at Disney:goodvibes

Ooh, can't wait to see what you do!!

We went to the Cape May Cafe clambake, but the breakfast sounds great as well. I just would never have been able to convince my gang to wake up for an ADR on our day off.:rotfl: You're right, the characters look so cute in their beach ware. No Mickey?
Obviously we have no problems getting the kids out of bed, especially the boys. I dream of the days they are teenagers and sleep until noon:rotfl: No Mickey at Cape May. I guess he works too hard. Doesn't have time to frolic around in his bathing suit:laughing:

Next up we did something I learned about from the boards, and the minute I heard about it knew it was right up my alley. What could it be?

You definitely have me curious as to what it can be?
Can't wait to hear!
You shouldn't have to wait much longer!

Oh my goodness, I absolutely adore the pedicure. How cute are your tootsie toes!
Thanks! It really got Wendy and I in the spirit for the trip. The guy at the nail salon thought we were nuts when I asked for Mickey heads:rotfl:

I think there are a few rooms at Beach Club that don't have the daybed, but most of them have it. If you decide to stay there just request a daybed and I'd bet you'd get it. Most of the Deluxes have daybeds. (All except Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom) We have to stay Deluxe because of the sleeping 5. I really don't mind though:rolleyes1

Thanks for coming over:goodvibes SWW was the highlight of the trip for my boys. My boys have never actually seen Spectro or Wishes:confused3 They don't like fireworks noise and DH doesn't like standing in crowds to watch fireworks so they happily stay at the resort. I can't do a trip without Wishes though. That is blasphemous:laughing:

The boys look like they had a wonderful time playing in the sand! We haven't eaten at Cape May Cafe, may have to add it to the list of places to try.
Cape May is great. It's a bit off the beaten path, but close enough to Epcot that you could do it on an Epcot morning if you weren't staying in one of the Boardwalk area resorts.

I think I might know what it is!! Is there a big clue in your first post???
Maybe you'll get your Mickey waffle next month! (Still waiting for the details on that!)
There is a big clue in the first post, and you guessed it! That should be up shortly:goodvibes

I love your toes! I painted Mickey heads on mine and my dd's toes before we left too but yours are much better!!

We loved our toes too, but we paid $30 for them. They may not seem that much better knowing that, huh?:rotfl:

:welcome: 2130 pictures:banana: You actually have more than me. I wasn't sure that was possible:yay: I think I may need some kind of PP intervention. My next TR may be titled: Confessions of a Photopass Addict:rotfl: I'm so jealous you live 30 minutes from DL. I love vacationing at the World, but there is no better place for a daytrip than the original park! Hope to get out there again soon:goodvibes :woohoo: on your upcoming trip!

I can't say enough good things about the BC (in case you haven't noticed:laughing:) It's going to be tough to stay anywhere else in the future!

Phew! Finally caught up!! :cool1:

The SW parade looked really cool! :thumbsup2

Glad you got to do Great Movie Ride. I really liked it the first time, but now after so many times, not so much. ;) But, the Wizard of Oz part is my favorite.

I've heard great things about The Plaza. I will have to add it to my list.

Looks like a lovely evening for you and Wendy. :goodvibes

Wendy took some awesome photos of Spectro! :wizard:

Loved how you spent your morning at the beach. That is so up my alley. :thumbsup2

The SW stuff was really cool! I liked the Great Movie Ride and will probably take the family on it next time, but it's not a must do. On the other hand, The Plaza may just become a must do:cool1: Get ready for more Beach pictures next, though they aren't as relaxing:goodvibes

Day 4, Part III
Well if you’ve been following along at all, and you knew something was “right up my alley” you had to know it involved photos right? That’s right. I dragged everyone to a resort Photo Shoot. I debated over whether to do the shoot at the Beach Club or the Polynesian. I saw some great shots at the Polynesian that have the castle in the background and I was very tempted. The convenience of the Beach Club and the idea that the setting would remind us of our whole trip won out. Beach Club it was! Because I prepurchased the CD the price for the shoot including the CD and a photo package of 6 5x7’s was $70. For a photo nut like me it was worth it. The sun was pretty bright (our session was at 10:30 am) and there are some squinting problems, but here is what we got.
(Prepare yourself. There are tons!)

I think we got some really great photos. Normally they do some shots on the lawn with the Beach Club in the background, but I asked the photographer to focus on the beach so that is what he did.

After the shoot, the photographer said to “take a leisurely walk back to the lobby and your pictures will be ready shortly.” We took a “leisurely walk” and then we sat in the lobby and waited. And waited. And DH took the boys back to the room. And Wendy and I waited. And Wendy went back to the room. And I waited. Finally the guy showed up and I asked if the pictures were ready. “Should be,” he said. They were. I looked at them and picked out the ones I wanted for my photo package, he copied the CD and I was finally headed back to the room. By this time it was around lunchtime. No one was super hungry because of our breakfast. Where should we eat?

How cool! That's really a great deal. So, you get 6 prints, but you also get all of the pictures added to your cd?

I love the white tops - very beachy! :)

How wonderful are those pics!

Do you set those photo shoots up at your resort? I am not sure about all the CD stuff either. When we went I didn't even know that I could give them my "keys to the world" card and have any photographer take our picture and put it on it. I didn't even know that I could get ride pics. I guess I still don't know how it all works. I guess I should find out before we are able to go back (I dream to go to BC). I would love to have those memories. I love the one with tink.

I am enjoying reading your TR. :thumbsup2 I especially love how I can go to the first page and pick which link I want to go to. It makes it easy for me to read your TR. I wish everyone would do that. I like to read TR's it makes me feel like I have just taken a vacation in my mind. Kinda like a good book.

Can't wait for more....

Great photos!! I love all of the different family configurations you got. And I think $70 for the sitting and the 5x7s and the CD is a pretty great deal.:thumbsup2

Where will you eat? Hmmm. I'm going to go with Hurricane Hannah's at SAB.
