"This Isn't Disneyworld. . .It's Rainworld!!" our trip to WDW May 16-23, 2009

Another wonderful update, Becky! Those girls just are DARLING in those outfits - I am SO looking forward to when I can dress up some baby girls and boys! :lovestruc

Oh my gravy, that rain was intense, wasn't it? I don't know about you, but whenever I am there and it rains, I am always surprised by how fast and furious it comes down - it's either clear or a torential downpour, there doesn't seem to be much in between!

I love EPCOT; I would have to say after AK it's my favorite place. I could spend hours wandering around the World Showcase. I'm glad you got to have an eclair - we make it a special point to go to that shop each trip and get something sugary and delicious - yum! :yay:

Awesome update despite the rain:goodvibes It was coming down SO HARD! We saw Jasmine and Alladin too, but the line was extremely long!! Bummer---they looked so nice. Also, loved the outfits (of course) SO impressed that you kept them looking so great in the rain! :worship: Can't wait to read more!

Just got all caught up on your soggy day, Becky! That rain is crazy! I can imagine your feet must have been freezing. Great pictures of Mulan, Jasmine, Aladdin, and the WTP gang! I love it when you get good photopass people who aren't afraid to just snap away some candid shots! Those are usually some of the best!!

Voices of Liberty are fabulous, aren't they? Their harmonies are glorious and I agree about that soprano - gorgeous and effortless!

Cute towel animal! You guys had great mousekeepers!! :goodvibes

I am loving reading your trip report. We were there MAy 15-22 and endured the monsoons as well. It is so funny to hear what you were doing during each of the rain days and comparing them to where we were that day. We were at DHS during the 11 inch rain day which I have to say was a pretty good park to be at. At least most everything is inside. Just running from attraction to attraction was the worst.

I love the outfits you dress your girls in each day! Where did you get the AK and EPCOT outfits? They are adorable! Can't wait to read up on the rest of your trip.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation with us. I am really enjoying your trip report and can't wait for the next installment! We have never tried Norway for breakfast before and I think we will have to give it a try.

Great update! I may have missed someone else asking this, but do you know how long you guys took to do the WS at Epcot? I'm trying to get a plan together and was wondering how much time to allow. And seeing how much Ally loved doing the Passport is making me think I need to get Griffin one too. It looks like a good way to get them involved in the different countries...

Hi! Your trip report is so fun and entertaining! :thumbsup2 My husband and I were at Disney the week before you and it was so hot and sunny! Funny how weather works huh? We never got to ride Soarin! I have been twice in the past 2 years and no luck. I also thought it was cool that you and your husband sing at church, I am in the choir at church and I have my first solo coming up soon and I am soooooooooo nervous.:scared: Can't wait for more! BTW, Your family is adorable!

Hi Becky
Can't remember if I've posted on your TR before, I read WAY too many !
I just have to comment on your non Disney comments in that last post.
You're SO right about Adam, he totally got robbed, not to take anything away from Kris I liked him, but he was not near the talent that Adam was. Oh well we know from the past you don't have to win to be the most sucessful.

And I loved Glee, I wasn't even in show chorus just Jr High Glee club.

Now thanks to those borrowed pictures I'm going to go find Leesa's TR and start reading it too

Thanks Katie!! Yes, the rain was VERY intense!! I LOVE Epcot as well--it's my 2nd favorite after MK! And the WS is my favorite part about it!! Sooo fun!! BTW--did you get the bows? Just wanted to be sure! :cutie:

Hi Katie!! How's the beach?! Glad you're able to check-in! Thank you!! I got the outfits at a great price but it wasn't worth all the drama that ensued! Check out my PTR for that story!!

Yes, Sara--that rain was INSANE!! And it was a very cold, wet rain! Not only were my feet cold but my ENTIRE body was freezing!! Wish I had brought a sweatshirt! Yes, he was the best PP person we had all week!! Yes, Voices of Liberty was incredible! A must-do for every trip IMO! Our mousekeeper was GREAT! We had different towel creations every night! We tipped her really well for all the magical moments she created for my girls!

Hi and welcome to my TR!! So you can totally relate, huh?! Sorry you had to endure the rain! Thank you!! A friend of mine made all of the outfits except the AK ones. The AK outfits were from Baby GAP from last year.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation with us. I am really enjoying your trip report and can't wait for the next installment! We have never tried Norway for breakfast before and I think we will have to give it a try.

Hi and welcome!! Glad you're joining in!! You MUST try Norway for breakfast!! it is WONDERFUL!!

Thanks!! Hmmm. . . let's see--I'll check my time stamps on my pics but I'm not sure how accurate it will be for you since we had soooo much rain. Ok--my first pic from Mexico says 2:21 p.m. and my last photo in Canada says 6:34 p.m. So it took us a little over 4 hours do get all the way around the WS. Hope this helps! The passport was sooo much fun for Ally! She wanted to maked the mask, too but couldn't due to the rain.

Hi and welcome!! Man how I wished I went a week sooner but you just never know, right?! Girl--you HAVE to ride Soarin' when you go again. It is sooo worth it!! Get FPs if you need to!! Oh wow! Your first solo!! What will you be singing? I've been singing solos since I was little but I STILL get nervous! It keeps you humble!! BTW--you are such a beautiful couple!! Gorgeous siggy pic! And I love your Princess and the Frog pic! My girls can't WAIT until December when it comes out!!

Hi!! Thanks for joining in!! Yes, Kris was good but Adam was OUTSTANDING!! And your exactly right. Most of the runners up have been sooo much more successful than the winners! LOVE Glee!! And you MUST check out Lessa's TR!! It is a land AND sea report!! I can't wait until she gets to the cruise part of her trip! You don't see many cruise TRs on here!!

Hey!
I just found your TR yesterday, and now I'm all caught up. We were there the same week as you, and I think we followed almost the same schedule! We were at MGM the same day, and at MK the next day, and as you were talking about waiting and waiting for the rain to let up under the castle, I think we were doing the same thing by the restrooms by Peter Pan. We also ate lunch at Columbia Harbor House that day! The next day we went back to MK when you were at AK, but we were at Epcot the same day as you and had to wade through World Showcase in ankle deep water, too! Unfortunately, we WEREN'T wearing crocs - all of us had on tennies and socks that day. OMG by the time we got to Mousegears to get out of the rain, we literally had to take off our shoes, dump them out, and wring out our socks! We had dinner ADRs at Garden Grill, so we stayed, but my feet NEVER dried out. Needless to say, we left after dinner. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip, I wonder if the remaining days will line up with ours?

Today was a VERY early morning for us! We had breakfast ressies at Chef Mickey's for 7:45 a.m.!!
CMAllyinvite.jpg

We got up and got dressed and were on the monorail to the Contemporary just before 7:30. Just to show you how quickly we made it from the Poly to the Contemporary, this pic was taken at 7:32 . . .
004.jpg

. . .and this one at 7:36!
005.jpg

As we were stepping off of the monorail I heard someone calling my name. It was Julie (TwoRoos) and her family! They were staying at the Contemporary and were headed to MK (as we would be later). She quickly told us that she had been looking for us downstairs at CM and was so excited to have run into us! We quickly made plans to meetup at MK. I told her that I would call her when we were headed that way!

We headed over to CM, parked our stroller, and headed in to check-in.
006.jpg

They gave us a buzzer and had us sit down in the waiting area beside the CM picture line.

The girls played with some of the other kids that were there waiting. And a little before 8:00 we had our picture made and were seated. (We did not end up buying the pic--it was NOT good--I was disappointed as I had wanted to purchase this pic.)

Our waiter came and got our drink orders and we went ahead and got some food from the massive buffet!

Mickey waffles
030.jpg

The food was very good--there was sooo much to choose from! Soon they started playing music, the characters came out, and everyone started twirling their napkins in the air! How fun!
038.jpg

Ally got a kick out of this! And we saw Donald passing our table dancing! Then our waiter brought us a cupcake in honor of our anniversary!

044.jpg

Finally the characters started greeting everyone! First up was Goofy!
047.jpg

For some reason Goofy's head just doesn't look right in these pics!
051.jpg

The characters seemed somewhat rushed but I was sure to tell them when they got to our table what pics I was wanting. A pic with Ally, a pic with Claire, and a pic with all of us. Some I was able to get and some I was not.

Donald was next!
057.jpg

He was really sweet with Ally but ran off before I got a pic with Claire.
060.jpg

Thankfully Mickey made up for it! (see Claire clapping--she ADORES Mickey)
062.jpg

Ally had not seen Mickey come up to our table. She was turned around looking over her chair to see who might be coming next. Mickey snuck up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder!
064.jpg

She was sooo surprised! I was so happy that I was able to get her reaction on camera! It was priceless! I had tears in my eyes at this point!

A pic with all of us
065.jpg

And then came Pluto!!
073.jpg

And finally came Minnie!!! (she spent a lot of time with us as well)
085.jpg

087.jpg

Another one of my favorite pics from this trip! It's my Profile pic on Facebook!
092.jpg

Ally was showing Minnie her Minnie Mouse Jibbitz on her Crocs! (Check out Claire's arm reaching for Minnie)
093.jpg

So all in all it was a good breakfast. Minnie and Mickey seemed to be the most attentive but the others not so much.

By this time it was about 9:10 and we decided to check out the stores at the Contemporary.
095.jpg

097.jpg

We didn't stay too long before we headed back up to the monorail. Julie called and we planned on meeting up in Toontown to meet the fairies. And off to MK we went!

Up Next: How long did we wait to see the fairies? Which fairies will we meet?

Hi and welcome to my TR!! Oh--so you can totally relate to all of the rain, huh?! Oh no! I can't imagine how uncomfortable you must have felt in wet shoes and socks! In terms of our days--this day I'm writing on now was spent in MK and so was Friday. Saturday we were at HS for SWW and then flew out later that day. Glad you're joining in!!

:goodvibes I really love Chef Mickeys. I thought the food and the atmosphere were both fun. Looks like you guys had a great time!! :wizard:

OH, those pictures give me chills. We didn't go to CM's last time, and I just can't wait to go. Minnie is my absolute favorite. I LOVE her!

Your girls are just precious!!

How fun, now I know why the twirling napkins happens. hehe.
So cute all the pictures you got.
And how fun that you met a DISer

Hi Becky! LOVE all the CM pics, they came out too cute!! I love that Claire looking at the character in each picture, she was in awe...adorable!!! And I think you're right, Pluto's head does look a little weird!! LOL!! Love the girls outfits and bows, you are all so coordinated so well!!!:goodvibes
