Hi all,
Just returned from the Fort and had a great time. We stayed in our usual preferred loop 800 and could not believe that it was not crowded. It was a nice 4 days.
A couple good notes of the trip was the new pool area. My daughter loved it and had a great time. A second was the trails end resturant. Of course I failed to make dinner reservations at wispering canyon at WL and could get no other last minute reservations anywhere. We decide to give trails end another try. Last time we went we were a bit disappointed with the food. To my surprise, it was the best meal we had at disney. They got us right in without a reservation. We booked Chef Mickey months ago and the kids were thrilled. The food was OK but the smiles on the kids made the experience great.
A few disapponiting items are as follows: Campers with big rigs, please don't get upset, but outside RV cleaning companies should not be allowed to perform their services at the fort. On Thursday, our neighbor hired an RV cleaning service that pressure washed thier rig for 2 hours and continued to use buffers for another hour. Our RV got sprayed a few times and the noise kept my little one from napping. Not relaxing at all. The next thing was pool hoppers. I know we have all done it before and some still do, but when I was at the pool Saturday, I overheard a lot of people talking they were from the contemporary and a lot of people come to the fort for the pool. I also overheard people on the bus everyday saying they like coming to the fort pool better than their resort. All in all, it just made for a crowded pool that us campers have to deal with. We'll be back for a week the first week in October. Hope to meet some of you there.

I saw your rig last night when we were looping. The loft was down which if you left today explains why. It's funny how when the pool was crap we were the red headed stepchildren who better stay here and not stray. Personally, I hate the new pool. I liked the deep end and they took out some nice trees to make more deck space. The kiddie zone I guess is nice if you have youngins. The slide IMO isn't anything special. If they require armbands it might deter a few but I think it's just the time of year that keeps it so crowded.

As far as the cleaning guy's they are loud but if they can make a buck more power to em. I don't like the noise either but they're just tryin to put food on the table.

you know those times when you can't get a golf cart. they aren't all rented by campers either..

oh well, whatcha gonna do.

stacktester, your probably right about the cleaning contractors. With this economy, everyones needs to make a buck. I agree with you about the pool, but I have 2 little ones and they love it. That makes it ok with me. You should have stopped by last night. We actually didn't even put the loft up this trip. The worst thing about it, is that there is no A/C up there and with vinyl windows, it becomes a sauna. The wife was happy to keep it down. It's great in the winter or when we go up north.

I'm not trying to knock u on the pool. I just liked the deep end and they put enough chlorine in it now to kill a villiage. I am happy with the makeover for everyone who likes the changes. The water is warm now though since the deep end is gone. It was around 11 when we went by and it was dark. Wasn't sure if it was your rig.

yeah, we were out cold by 10. I agree with you on the pool things, not knocking at all. Hope you guys had a great trip.
