Question about developer points received with BLT purchase

I have a question for those who purchased BLT contracts and received developer points that expire on 10/3/09. I've searched for posts about this and found conflicting information. Some have posted the developer points they received with their BLT purchase are good only at SSR, the Disneyland hotels and RCI. Others posted they received developer points that can be used anywhere. Can anyone confirm that the Developer Points they received which expire on 10/3/09 can be used anywhere other than SSR, the DL hotels and RCI?

Your contract will tell you exactly how they can be used, so it is better to refer to that. However, I can tell you that I know of know other use for developer points currently being offered other than the uses you listed.

Our developer points can only be used as you described. I did see others who have a different agreement, like you said. If you bank them with RCI you have two years to use them. That's what we're doing because we're unable to use them at SS prior to 10/3.

I was told mine were only the DL hotels or SSR over the phone, I don't think RCI was even included. I didn't actually get any paperwork about them, but I feel into a small group- people who signed for their purchase before the DPs were being offered but since I technically still could have canceled they gave them to me 'free' at my request after the fact. They did NOT have me redo any paperwork since the cash amounts didn't change. I wonder if that was completely legit since I never signed anything for the DPs... In any case they are used up already so that didn't become an issue for me.

Our 10/3/09 expiring points were only for use as you described. Any other reports I happened to see that referred to anything different the people discovered when looking at the contract that they had misunderstood.

DP's we received for our AKV purchase at the DL event last May were good for use at all resorts even though by that time I think all other's were being restricted to SSR, DL and II. Maybe people received different DP's for BLT at one or two of the special events like we did?

Ours were for SSR, Disneyland hotels, and you could trade them for an RCI week.

We used them for concierge at Disneyland Hotel. Fun trip!

They should have to send you paperwork for the points. I was able to get the points after they were first offered even though we bought and closed before that (because we purchased at opening), and they eventually got me paperwork in the mail to sign. If they don't, I guess it's no big deal.

I also received our DP's after we had closed our contract without them included, so I never had to sign any paperwork.

Our points were only good @ SSR, DLR hotels and exchange through RCI. The other posts I've read where some used DP's for other locations were owners that bought GCV @ DLR when announced.

All BLT DP's had the restrictions you listed. Hope that helps!
