Hello all, I'm sure this has been asked before but my search didn't find anything. We would like to try either Sci-Fi or 50's on our next trip and I can't decide which to go to.:confused3 We haven't been to either so I was hoping to get some opinions and possibly pictures on both. We have two daughters who are sort of picky eaters so which would be better.

We have been to both and they are both a lot of fun. I think that your server at 50's Prime Time Cafe has a lot to do with your experience there. Check out the menu on the boards and see if your girls would be into the "home cooked meals" offered.
Sci-Fi 's drive in movie atmosphere is great! Lots of fun. You watch B rated monster movie clips and cartoons while you sit in your "car" (3 rows of 2 seater benches). Great burgers and milk shakes.
Have fun deciding :thumbsup2

I liked Sci-Fi because of the cars and the old movie clips. We have ate at both and the food really isn't better one place or the other. This time my oldest is ordering from the adult menu and doesn't really like what's on either, so we are just going to Sci-Fi for a mid-day break and get some shakes while we watch the show.

Sci-fi for us - stick to burgers and shakes! :thumbsup2

That's probably the best idea I know they will eat burgers! I thought the 50's looked like fun since the servers interact with you it reminds me of Ed Debevics here in Chicago. The servers are rude but in a fun way!

I had the exact same question on here this winter! lol :] I ended up choosing the Sci-Fi because of the burgers and because of the movies being played. Although the theming for fifties is pretty neat...

I thought they were both great. Sci-Fi has such a cool atmosphere but those PB&J shakes at 50's are quite a draw too.:goodvibes

You can't go wrong with either!

We have eaten at both and we love both!

Sci Fi: Really fun atmosphere. If you want excellent burgers, onion rings and super thick milkshakes, this is the place. Service was excellent.

Prime Time: Just dined here for the first time this past June and loved it. The atmosphere is fantastic (like stepping back in time). The service was fantastic. Our server was fun but didn't get to over-the-top which I was thankful for. I was a little nervous that our 5 & 7 year old might get a little uncomfortable...but she was GREAT! The food was excellent. Especially the peanut butter and jelly milkshake. ;)

We ate at Sci Fi in March, and it was one of our favorite places we ate at. OMG I had the ribs and they were GREAT!!!! The shakes were awesome also. It looks just like an old Drive-In and they showed, what I thought was some pretty funny clips on the screen. Also, the waitress was pretty funny. She dropped a dish, and turned and blamed it on my wife, just kidding with her, then that became the theme for the rest of the meal. Hilarious.

We have been to both, depends on what you are looking for. 50's is more "home cooked" meals (meatloaf, turkey) in a 50's home environment. The sci-fi is more for burgers and sandwiches, in kitschy type environment...sitting in a "car" at the drive in. Our kids liked sci-fi, although it is kind of dark for really little ones.

Sci-Fi we came across this resturant by chance on our honeymoon and fell in loved with it. Our daughter who was 2 at our last trip loved sitting in the car, watching movies/shows/well more like clips. She found stuff no problem on the menu stuff she would eat

I have not eaten at either but this trip my mom & I are on the DDP we are going to both and just sharing a meal at each. I hear the servings are big and with dessert I am sure we will not leave hungary. I really wanted to try both places so I think this will work for us. :)

Any truth to the rumor that Sci-Fi Dine In Theater will be re-named SyFy Dine In Theater?

Sci-Fi; the only time we ate at Prime Time, the waitress chastised my son for not finishing his meal and told him he couldn't have dessert until he did. He was devastated and we've never been back.

Thanks for all the replies, I think we will go to Sci Fi since it was sort of my first choice anyway.

No ? for me Prime Time. Good food & fun. Si-Fi don't like the food here anymore.

i would go with 50's prime time it has a much more funny atmosphire and feels like your eating back in the 50's just dont get in trouble
