My future husband and I are having an escape wedding and after our mini-reception (as I call it...it's really cake and champagne) we are planning on going to a restaurant afterwards. The only problem is that we don't know what restaurant to go to that is kid friendly (we'll have our 5 year old ringbearer with us) and that is sophisticated enough for the adults. (Everyone, inluding me and my fiance, will still have on our wedding day attire). Since we are not allowed into the parks with our formal attire on the restaurant has to be in one of the resorts or in downtown disney. If you can give me any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Congratulations! My husband and I were married in Disney 13 years ago--it truly was magical--enjoy!!!

Our rehearsal dinner was at California Grill, my niece (4 at the time) was with us and enjoyed herself. We did time dinner to take advantage viewing the fireworks.

Again, congratulations!

Us too! 13 years in November! We were married at the Yacht Club...our wedding day lunch was at Beaches and Cream! lol.

DB11...where are you getting married. Is the escape wedding what they used to call the intimate wedding?

I think Citricos is a great place to go for a special meal. Citricos in the GF gets overlooked. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is nice but still seemed casual enough that I didn't hesitate to bring my ds8 and dd6 last year. But afterall - this is Disney, most any restaurant is going to be comfortable to accomodate children. Congratulations and have a great time!! :lovestruc

I think either Citrico's or Jiko. Personally I think the CG is highly overrated. But actually the best you could do might be put her in the child care center at either your Resort or the GF and go to Victoria and Albert's.

Where are you getting married and how many people? do you have easy transportation?

Hi! I was an escape bride as well. We had a luncheon at Grand Floridian Cafe, and it was horrid. So don't go there. Trust me. I would go with places like...

Narcoossees- Nice atmosphere for a wedding
Ohana- Would be a lot of fun
Jiko
Citricos

Where are you getting married at?

Yes the escape is now what they used to call the intimate wedding. We were thinking about beaches & Cream too! lol We weren't looking for anything too fancy because we will have a 5 year old boy with us but at the same time we don't want anything too kid oriented either. We're still trying to decide. Thanks for the help though!

Aww that will be so nice. We were married at SBP.

Ok since you are in that area, I would go with Yachtsman Steak House. To be honest with you, I wish I would have eaten somewhere around the boardwalk area. Would have been more convenient.

We are getting married at the Yacht Club rose garden wedding gazebo. Where did you get married at?

Awww I wanted to get married at the wedding pavilion but my fiance hated the idea so that idea went out the window lol. Have you eaten at the YSH? If you have how is the quality? My fiance and I love steak and only want the best for our wedding day lol

OOOh if you all love steak DEF go to Yachtsman!!!! We are going to be trying it in Jan, we have not been yet. Umm but there are awesome reviews on Yachtsman. I hear they have the best steaks.

Congratulations! I too am a past Disney bride. Disney will take care of you and your day will be magical. Bt the way check out the Disney weddings forums on disboards because there are so many other brides who can help (like Lynn;))

Lynn is tright...stay near the BC/YC/BW area. The travel will make it nuts. I would say Yachtsmen (if want something more refined...and yes it is yummy and beautiful inside) or how about Captains Grill? I think that would be a little nicer than Beaches but not as expensive or upscale as Yachstmen. I never ate there though so look for some reviews.

Jiko is lovely...very sophisticated and yet you could still bring a child there easily.

The child is in their wedding, they're not going to stick him in a child care center! That would be mean.:confused3

Citrico's or Narcooses would be other lovely choices. The nice thing about Narcooses is it is a nice atmosphere and you may be able to get seated by the window (probably, especially if they know it's your wedding!) and you can see the MK fireworks and such!

FYI, Last August we were at Disney and there was a bridal party walking around Epcot in the evening in their formal attire. There were these people surrounding them with flags, or lights or something..but it was a small party of 10 or so people, definitely a wedding party, and she was in her gown. They had just come from Coral Reef restaurant. We had seen her earlier that day getting her pics taken at GF. Are you sure you are not allowed in any of the parks in your formal attire?

They were probably being escorted to their dessert party, or wedding reception. You can only go in with your wedding attire if you have one of those booked.

I agree with you Mary. The traveling all over the place on your wedding day does drive you a little nuts.
