Since I am having such a hard time getting reservations for Donald's Breakfast at the Animal Kingdom I was wondering if Boma was good for breakfast. Has anyone tried it?

We just got back (6/27-7/4) and ate breakfast at both Boma & Tusker House (AK). Both were very good. My kids are 13,11,7,& 7 and they actually preferred Boma (even without the characters) Lots of food choices, pastries, cold cereals, fruit, omlets made to order, yummy scrambled eggs, meats and some traditional African dishes. The juice was great! Tusker House was also good. Plenty of food choices and great juice as well. It is noisier than Boma. I don't think you could go wrong either way

Boma's is great but be aware that there are no characters. I saw a mom take a hissy fit one time when she discovered Boma didn't have characters. She called for the manager and said reservations told her there were characters, he ended up offering to get a car to take her to any character breakfast on property.

Thanks for the help. I've already told the kids we might not be able to get in to see Donald so we would have to have a regular breakfast. I think we might give Boma a shot!!

I loved Boma's breakfast. I would definetly recommend it. We are actually having dinner there for the first time during our upcoming trip.:)

Boma is our favorite breakfast at the "World". :thumbsup2We happened upon it 2 yrs. ago as a last minute call & reserve the night before kinda thing. We LOVED it! If you go-try the jungle juice. Great!:lovestruc

If you want characters though another character breakfast option: Chef Mickey's. The character interaction was great. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale were there when we went. Food was good just not as good as Boma.

Our family LOVES Boma for Breakfast.
It has something for everyone and is delicious!! We think it's the best breakfast on property.

We've eaten at Boma three times for dinner. In Sept. we will go for breakfast for the first time. Really looking forward to it. Its just me & DH and he would rather avoid the characters. We have a 7:30 ADR and hope to get over to AK just about the time it opens.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Love Boma's
We have eaten their for breakfast and dinner. Have never been disappointed. We will be eating there in Dec when we go back. Boma's is a must for us.

We eat breakfast at Boma on every trip. We did dinner once and DH didn't like it, but we both really like the breakfast. It's less crowded and hectic than a lot of the other restaurants, and we've been able to get an ADR by calling the night before.

We're eating breakfast here for the first time this trip, ate dinner last time and we LOVED it (especially my bf who is vegetarian, he ate like a king!) :goodvibes

Boma Breakfast does get great reviews -

another character breakfast option for great character interaction - Ohana - STITCH!! Pluto is also there and they are great characters that have a lot of fun with the guests - even the "older" kids!! (it does take longer than average as Ohana seats all guests in a section at the same time - so they have to wait for one whole section to empty before filling it! and its better for a MK day, then an AK day!)

Since you thread title is "Boma Animal Kingdom" , I just wanted to make sure you realized that Boma is not located at the AK theme park.

It's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you don't have a car, you can catch a bus to AKL from AK, or from any other theme park or DTD.

Lynne:

Thanks so much. I did not know until I started to do more research into it that Boma wasn't part of the animal kingdom. I've already cancelled. Since this is our first trip so much to learn.

Thanks again.
Tina

You probably know this, but given your thread title and question, I thought I'd make sure:

Boma's is NOT at Animal Kingdom. It's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. They are, as you probably know, connected to each other. You'd have to bus to and from (unless you're staying at AKL).

Breakfast there is OUTSTANDING, IMHO. Worth the bus ride.... :)

Edit: Ah, missed it by THAT much. Lynne beat me to it!

:wizard: We had breakfast at Boma last summer and thought it was great. The only down side for us was that we were staying at POR and had to take the bus to AK and then get the bus to AKL. Not a big deal, but a lot of running around for breakfast first thing in the morning!
