Newbie stupid question

I'm new to DVC - we're taking our first trip in Feb 2010. Can't wait!

Anyway, I may have misunderstood something I heard - but can you have packages delivered to your DVC room when you purchase them in the parks? I know as a resort guest, you can have the packages delivered so you don't have to carry them around with you - can this be done if you're staying in a DVC resort?

Yes, though it has been years since they have actually been delivered directly to the room. All packages are now delivered to the resort gift shop, and you may pick them up there. Allow 24 to 48 hours for delivery, depending upon the time of day you make the purchase. Purchases made in the parks after about 3pm may take 2 days, and DtD packages to OKW always seem to take 2 days. Do not have anything shipped to the resort if you are departing the next day.

If you are departing the next day, they can send your packages up to the fornt of the park, and you can collect them when you leave the park.

Thanks! Now that you mention the gift shop thing, I remember we had to do that the last time we actually used that perk at POFQ. I think DLR still delivers to the rooms though - or at least they did when we went in 2008. Maybe that's why I forgot about it...

I think (at WDW) concierge level still delivers directly to the room, but it may be the gift shop as well. Disneyland does their own thing.
