Post Photos of Hotels Here...DLH, HoJo, BWPPI, DI&S, CCI...etc.

Hi Kelly-The Desert Inn & Suites is across the street from Disneyland's main entrance but you have to cross Harbor Blvd. The Desert Palms & Suites is on the same side of the street as Disneyland but down a little further. We have stayed at the Desert Inn & Suites for quite a few years in a row, and have really been happy. We have also stayed at Park Place Inn, Park Vue, Castle Inn & Suites, & Del Sol. Maybe someday I can afford on site. I just love all of the pictures!! We changed because of a better price and the fact of not having to cross Harbor Blvd. It's just so scary, you never know when someone is going to run the light! I got a great rate (I thought) on Getawaytoday.com I paid $1211 for 9 nights Sept. 18th-26th 2009. HTH! :)

Sorry Kelly I forgot to say that they are both within walking Distance from the Main Gate. Desert Inn & Suites would be a little closer.

Thanks Minniegirl! You did get a GREAT rate, it must be partially because it's September which is considered the low season, right? Thanks for all the info!!

Kelly-It usually is considered the off season, but I have heard alot of people talk about rooms being sold out in September. I believe the week we are there, there is a convention so I was so surprised I got a great rate! We have gone in September for quite some years and we always enjoy the smaller crowds. Have a great trip! I am going to try and figure out how to put a ticker on my siggie. Have Fun!! :)

Anyone have pics of the Kids Suites at Portofino Inn & Suites? We are staying there in September. TIA

OMG, the beds were soooooo comfortable! Loved it!

The chair is a bit smaller than a twin sized bed. Probably perfect for a kid under 5'5" tall. Anything bigger than that and their legs will be hanging over the edge.

The room had FREE Wireless Internet access! Yay!

Real hangars that come off the rod! Yay! Iron/ironing board and extra blanket wrapped in plastic.

Coffee pot is single cup type. We brought our own 4 cup coffeemaker. Refrigerator is on the bottom left of the bathroom counter.

ETA: Someone asked on another thread if this was the upgraded (read= more expensive) DL Resort facing rooms. We didn't pay for an upgraded room. We paid for the cheapest room we could get through Hotels.com which was the same price as on the Marriott website + a $10 non refundable fee, but able to be canceled if needed, unlike the cheapest room rate booked directly through Marriott. I simply asked at check in if I could get a DL facing room, and they said, "You already have one."

The parking was free and there were lots of open stalls. Even when it was crazy busy, we always found a stall. We inquired at the front desk because we had read on the 'net about some people having a hard time w/parking and they told us if that happened to let the security guards know and they would help us find a stall. We inquired with security just in case (because we took a lot of side trips getting back at all hours of the day, night, and we hours of the morning) and they also said the same.

Just wanted to add that for the size of the hotel and the amount of rooms, the pool and jacuzzi seemed small-ish. However, we hardly ever saw anyone in it except for late afternoon and even then it didn't seem full of people. Pool and jacuzzi were very clean. Jacuzzi is way too small for a hotel this size though it appears that is the norm in this area of Anaheim...

I didn't take a picture, but to the left of the play area for kids there is a stand alone computer with printer for people to print out coupons, boarding passes, etc. Great!
This is what it looked like when we were coming back home at night...

There was a Pizza Hut and Seattle's Best Coffee on the 3rd floor, and in the mornings they would offer continental breakfast type items for sale. Also, they offered room service from Millies. The prices were very good; not outrageous like most room service menus. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Wow, great review for Fairfield Inn. It looks wonderful!! I am impressed with the kids play area, my little one would have liked that! How far was the walk or did you drive??

WOW Amazing shots of the Fairfield!! Now Im happy I chose this hotel!!
I see you have no refrigerator, they must not be standard. I will have one for my meds when I arrive so Im good there.
Thank you for showing us this hotel, Im so happy with the looks of it!!

The walk was about 5 minutes. We walked every day. We even went back to the room for breaks. When we stay at Hojos we never take breaks. It just seems like it's so much further than FFI. I know it's not really that much further but at the end of a long day, it makes a huge difference to us.

There was a refrigerator; it's standard in every room. It's below the bathroom sink/counter to the left.

DisneySuiteFreak, your pictures are incredible! I love dusk and night time pictures, the lobby looks so cozy, and I love the lemon water idea! At first I had us booked at the Fairfield, then I started looking at other properties, and now we are booked (but not paid) at the Paradise Pier through Costco. Booking with them, we also get a free character breakfast and a $20 disney gift card! There is a daybed in the room at the PP, but having never stayed there, I don't know if it's any bigger than the fairfields, but I think it might be? I'm thinking that by the sounds of it, the PP is actually closer to CA but Fairfield is closer to DL?? 5 minutes sounds very doable! I wasn't sure how far away it was time wise, so thanks for the info..

I wonder if it's worth the $213 difference compared to staying at the Fairfield? The fairfield looks and sounds great, but the tiny pull out isn't going to fit my son, although he's 13 right now, (turns 14 7/27) he's pretty tall, I would say 5'8 or 5'9! Maybe I should sleep on it, I'm only 5'3"!! lol...anyway, the PP has an awesome looking waterslide that I know our kids would love, and other than one extra EE (magic morning) I wonder what the other differences/advantages it would have? What do you think?? Oh I'm soooo confused!! Our kids are 17 and 14...we haven't been to DL for 10 years, California Adventure was just being built!

Anyone got any piccies of Ramada Maingate ? Particularly the new renovated premium rooms ?

Thanks

I weighed the difference to to PP to fairfield, the pool did not make a big difference to me, it was the much lower price, and all the amenities. also the fac t the out side restaurants are much cheaper then being " stuck" in the park. having to walk out to eat is a long way. with mimi's and milli's right out side the fairfield, and Mcdonalds right in front of the fairfield it was a no brainer. My daughter is 14 ( soon to be 15) and she just does not worry about pool size, she would rather dip and get cool, then head back into the parks.
I stayed at PP, its a nice room to, but really did not seem bigger to me. We just do not find the pool erea to be the deciding factor, its the parks we spend 80% of our time at, then the restaurants , only a few days do we dip in the pool, and usually when its super hot or we take a break.

Hi, I almost booked us to stay at PPH.Then I did some research about it and said no way.Someone posted a map, and it showed that PPH is a further walk to get to from DL than it is to get to Hojos. (And that's pretty far enough thank you very much!) Even worse, there are no off site stores (ABC/7-11) or restaurants in the area around PPH. You have to eat and shop at their onsite restaurants and stores. Unless you walkout to Harbor and then backtrack again to the PPH. It didn't make sense to me for us to stay there. I like having the lower priced restaurants on Harbor available to me, so it just made sense for us to stay at FFI.
How many in your party are going?I heard the daybeds at PPH are not that large either. If you get the 2 queen room w/sleeper, maybe your daughter or you could sleep in it,your son in one of the queen beds, and that leaves one more queen bed leftover. I could fit in the twin sleeper because I am only 5'2". My son is about 5'8"and he laid on it to show me that he could sleep in it if he had to.(He slept on the other Queen) Good luck on your decision!

Speaking of Hojo's, I'm really hoping someone posts pictures of the new kids suites once they're open... we're staying there in December!

Hi DisneySuite! Guess what? After your pictures and description, I booked us at the Fairfield! I booked it directly through their website and got a GREAT rate of $87 per night + tax. The total was $501.50! I can purchase our park tickets online through disney.com and that comes to $716 for 4 of us, so that's only $1217.50 total!! YAY! That saves $337 over Costco's package that included the character breakfast and $20 gift card. After talking it over with DH, he doesn't care for those anyway, and with our kids being teens, we would do better to use that savings for food and other purchases! Our son is about the same height as yours, and he curls up when he sleeps anyway, but since it's by the window and I get hot, I may end up sleeping on it myself! lol...Anyway, just wanted to thank you so much for helping me make up my mind!! :worship: The pictures did it!! Fantastic!

Looking forward to going now more than ever, especially with the airline and hotel tickets bought! Yippee!! :cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo:

Hi Teatime! I also decided that it wasn't worth the extra $$, so we booked the Fairfield! I got a great deal, $501.50 for all 5 nights with tax included. You are right, I like the idea of having Pizza Hut, Seattles Best coffee, McDonalds, Mimi's, Millie's, and others at our fingertips since we won't have a car. The pool will work just fine for us too. We will be taking breaks, at least I know I plan on it, so if I come back to the hotel to take a dip in the pool, at least it's right across the street, right? I'm psyched! Thanks for your information, especially with comparing the two, since you've stayed at both...:thumbsup2 :flower3: I can't wait to get there!

wooooo hooooooo !!! I think you made the right decision!! and with those pictures it looks awesome. I asked for a park view on the top floor and I got it to. ( they said no problem) I love the fact I do not have to eat all disney, and when you have walked and ran the parks all day, no one wants to have to leave the on site motels and head out of the park. this way we can go back to our motel, rest up and have a nice cheaper dinner out side.

Our family will be at HOJO kids Suite July 24-Aug1. I'll take lots of pics of the room to post here.
