The Day the Mickey Died - In memoriam: Pal Mickey

Those lizards may have been running because they heard my husband was coming back. The man is a lizard hunter. He walks around the entire vacation staring at the ground looking for them.
I was in yesterday but wanted to get to the latest posting before I commented. So I could be all up-to-date and not be the person wearing parachute pants and neon colors (um...no offense) and big Bon Jovi hair...last week.
Keep it coming, work be damned!

Well....at least we don't wear parachute pants.....and normally not neon colors either....except Woobie who does sport some pretty bright pink from time to time.

AND I worked my b*tt off finding that post, thank you!

Yeah.....sorry about that....right now I imagine you're giving me the same look as the one on the tinkerbell in your signature.

I am open about my love for Hannah Montana which my boyfriend teased me about, I then came home from work one day to find my DBF watching the one I had DVRed the night before, with out me :lmao::lmao: They could be friends lol

Aww...it's like their own secret club.

But yes....absolutely...by all means...let's be the one family in the history of WDW that watches Muppets 3-D two times in a row. Apparently, they didn't pick up on my sarcasm.....even though I was laying it on pretty thick...because we went to Muppets 3-D two times in a row.
Yes, I have to admit that's pretty weird. Not exactly a "Can we go on it again, Mom?" kind of attraction.

Plus, most of the stunts they performed....our kids get to see on a daily basis when mom drives them to school.
A woman's job is so undervalued in our society. Hats off to YOU, Tinkershell, for putting their education above all else. Including safety.

Next, we used a dream fastpass to ride Star Tours. "Make way people....we've got dream fastpasses winners here. As always, we ask that you please refrain from flash photography and remember....the videotaping of dream fastpass winners is strictly forbidden."
I see you are not one to pass up the opportunity to flaunt your good fortune.

After a quick snack, we decided to try Sounds Dangerous starring Drew Carey. Even though I had never seen it before....this was the attraction that had replaced Monster Sound Show....and for that reason alone I hated it with every fiber of my being. I have no idea what possessed WDW to eliminate MSS. It featured this cool short film starring Chevy Chase and Martin Short about a door-to-door salesman visiting a spooky old house. First, you watched the film through one time so you could hear all the special effects....and then you watched it a second time with no sound while people selected from the audience tried to re-create the special effects sounds....and then you watched it a third time with the new special effects and everybody laughed at the people from the audience because they had done such a rotten job and were all a bunch of pathetic losers...no offense. I’m telling you....it was a hoot.
I've never seen the Monster Sound Show, and was quite blissfullly unaware about it. Now I'm thoroughly depressed. Thanks.

Instead, we now have Sounds Dangerous....which is an attraction created to celebrate the wonder of stereo sound. Yup, you heard me......stereo sound. "What manner of witchcraft is this, Mr. Carey? Although, I can hear angry bees buzzing around my head....my eyes do not detect them." Why stop with stereo sound? Why don't we build more attractions featuring cutting-edge technology from the early 1900's....like radar.....or the ball point pen?
And yet you vehemently defend the Great Movie Ride?

So, for those of you keeping score at home, you can add claustrophobia to my growing list of mental conditions.
Check.

The next couple seemed nice...but I was pretty sure that the guy was the one I'd seen all day long sticking his finger in his nose on all the ride photos...and I just couldn't condone that type of behavior.
You know, I love your references to my TR, in all its brilliant subtlety. Like a quiet homage, if you will. Makes me feel like someone actually read it.

Hmmmmm, the whole thing sounded a little embellished to me.....and if there's one thing I hate (besides Sounds Dangerous)..it's when people exaggerate things just for the sake of increasing their entertainment value.
I know...how ANNOYING.

although I had this feeling we were forgetting something important......very important.
Ooh...a cliffhanger. Only the best writers use 'em.

Yes, I have to admit that's pretty weird. Not exactly a "Can we go on it again, Mom?" kind of attraction.

Tinkershell still defends the decision. In fact, she thought a bunch of people were going to respond that they love to ride Muppets 3-D twice in a row. Ummmm....I'm not sure those people are out there....and if they are....apparently they are not allowed to use the internet.

A woman's job is so undervalued in our society. Hats off to YOU, Tinkershell, for putting their education above all else. Including safety.

You know...you really shouldn't encourage her like that.....because she's a vehicular menace to society. But shes going to love that you did.

I see you are not one to pass up the opportunity to flaunt your good fortune.

It's kind of like a "if a tree falls in the woods and nobody's around to hear it" type of deal.

I've never seen the Monster Sound Show, and was quite blissfullly unaware about it. Now I'm thoroughly depressed. Thanks.

It is, hands down, the single best show I've ever seen in my entire life......but...you know...sorry you missed it.

And yet you vehemently defend the Great Movie Ride?

Kind of boggles the mind doesn't it.

You know, I love your references to my TR, in all its brilliant subtlety. Like a quiet homage, if you will. Makes me feel like someone actually read it.

Well....quiet homage is my middle name....Peter "Quitehomage" Panic Attack. As you can imagine....I've taken my fair share of ribbing over that little nugget. Children can be so cruel.

I know...how ANNOYING.

Every once and awhile....I like to serve up a softball.

Ooh...a cliffhanger. Only the best writers use 'em.

Ahhhhh....but will the cliffhangers continue?

Oh no! I have a bad feeling about this. Could it be the end of Pal Mickey? I suddenly feel so sad. I think he'll need a memorial ceremony. I wonder if the Staples Center is available.:upsidedow

:lmao:That is absolutely awful, yet terribly hysterical all rolled into one! :lmao:

So true, and I didn't even realize it until you pointed it out!

To be honest....I missed that one too. Tinkershell had to point it out to me. Bravo Wish_I_Was_At_WDW....nicely played.

I stumbled upon this report a few weeks ago and now have to let you know (as so many others have) that this is the most entertaining TR ever! Really, I think it's the best on the whole DIS board.

It appears from your ticker that our family will be at wdw around the same time as yours this year. So, if you hear an "OMG it's the Panic Attacks!" while you are doing one of your oscar worthy performances this year, know that it's from a loyal fan. (and not a crazed lunatic that the rest of the audience thinks is having a panic attack and can't understand why)

BTW -- I grew up in FL and had many of those lizards running around our porch on a daily basis. Did you know that if you pick them up by their tail, the tail falls off? They can then regrow their tail. Needless to say, we had a bunch of lizards with deformed looking tails in our backyard.

Thanks so much. I have no doubt you'll be able to recognize us if you see us...because I'm sure we'll be wearing ridiculous tie-dye mickeys again.

I bet moving from Florida to Wisconsin took a bit of an adjustment....especially in the winter. That probably explains why you're going to WDW in early December. As for the lizards, DS grabbed one by the tail in 2005 and had it come off in his hand. There's an expression I wish I had a picture of.

...that I LOVE the Muppets!!! Always have, always will. :goodvibes

Have I watched the Muppets 3-D show twice in a row? Ummm..l don't think so. I have watched it twice in one week, if that counts for anything.

Maybe during our next trip in December, if I can somehow convince my kids that the Muppets are relevant, we'll watch it twice in a row. Hmm...perhaps I'll tell my daughter that Miss Piggy and Miley Cyrus are BFF's and I'll tell my son that the entire Muppet clan are Transformers. :thumbsup2

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

I love the RRC. We went to see the Muppets after a big rain. I thought it was cute. I need to see the stunt shows. That is one thing I didn't get to.
