I will be staying only one night in the new Bay Lake Tower MK view then going over to Kidani Village for the rest of my stay. Will Disney transfer myself and bags to the new resort? Is this a free service? Thanks!

They will transfer the bags for you but not sure about the human cargo. When we did the change we ended up in the parks then took the bus back to our new place in the early afternoon and checked in. But I'm sure they will get you to you new villa some how....

ohhh well that's ok too. I would rather them just take the bags while I go to a park. Is that a free service to transfer the bags???

Yes the service is free. Just call bell services when you are ready to leave the first resort and tell them where you are moving to. You will have to call bell services at your new resort to have them deliver your bags to the room. They will not be available until after 4pm.

And you'll need to be present in the room for both pick-up and delivery of the luggage, as you'll get claim tags. Another option, if you don't want to wait before going to the park is to haul your luggage down to the bell services desk yourself.

The service is free, but you'll need to tip as you would for any hotel bell service.

Tip on both ends, Chuck (delivery and receipt)? How much would you suggest?

$1 to $2 per bag is pretty standard in the luggage service area, use the same tipping criteria you'd use for a skycap.

Thanks. Again - standard to tip on both ends? Both when depositing and retrieving the luggage?

I would pre-check in at Kidani at 8-9 am to make sure you get a room as close to the lobby, pool and Sanaa as possible,(Long Hallways!!!). Then go back to BLT to call bell services. To do this you can take the Animal Kingdom Park bus from the Contemporary to AKP, then just hop on the AKL bus to Kidani. Going back to BLT I would take a Magic Kingdom bus to transfer at the MK from the bus to the monorail. Bell services will transfer your belongings but are sometimes to busy to transfer people. So after you get back to BLT from pre-checking in go to AKP for the afternoon because your belongings shouldn't be ready to receive at your new room until 3-4pm. Good Luck and have fun at Kidani !!! We were there opening day and loved it... J.D.

What is a skycap??
We actually did tip $10 for 6 bags. (both ways)
Can anybody tell me if they will hold my bags for me?
We are going over to POFQ for 1 night then back to AKL the next day. I would like them to just hold them untill we go back to AKV rather than actually transporting them to POFQ.
Sorry for jumping on your thread.:goodvibes

With groceries and whatnot I don't try to tip per bag. I tip $1.5 for every night I am staying (rounded up) with a $3 min and a max of $10 as long as it all fits on a single luggage cart. My reasoning on this is that the longer the stay the more groceries and clothing you will bring meaning bigger and heavier bags.

When moving you have to calculate it for the entire stay though. So if your entire vacation is 7 nights you will be tipping $10 for pickup and $10 for delivery at every new location.

Skycaps are the curbside luggage handlers at the airport, the airport luggage check-in at the Disney resorts can also be considered a skycap.

They should hold your bags for one night.
